A toe push plate can be included proximate the shaft insert sleeve. The first shaft can be coupled to the shovel blade body with a spring. The cross section of the second shaft can be complementary to that of the first shaft so that the two shafts can be collapsed to be held by one hand comfortably.

A control module in a housing mounted on the elongate handle is designed to receive electrical signals from the force transducer assembly or a load cell assembly. A display assembly is coupled to the electrical scale assembly and control module.

The floor extends forwardly from the back side and can comprise riffles, furrows, or be flat. The panning tool comprises a connection body. The connection body is affixed to an interior face of the sifting scoop. Methods of using the panning tool and manufacturing the sifting scoop are also described.

The bar features an elongated shaft having a first end and a second end, wherein a pointed head is permanently secured to the first end of the elongated shaft, and a rounded head portion is permanently secured to the second end of the elongated shaft. The pointed head has a pointed end for penetrating the sidewalk to create a cavity in the sidewalk and the rounded head is used for removing dirt and debris from the created cavity. The bar is inserted into the sidewalk by holding the elongated shaft and applying a downward force.
