Apparatus and method for obtaining emergency data and providing a map view
A disclosed method includes receiving emergency data related to emergency calls emanating from mobile devices, independently from emergency call routing to an emergency network; determining an emergency network that should receive the emergency data; providing the emergency data to the emergency network; and providing a map view to the emergency network entity of the emergency network using the emergency data and displaying location indicators corresponding to locations of mobile devices identified by the emergency data. Another disclosed method includes receiving emergency data related to emergency calls emanating from mobile devices, independently from emergency call routing to an emergency network; detecting emergency call data received at the emergency network; and providing a map view to an emergency network entity of the emergency network using the emergency data, where the map view displays location indicators corresponding to locations of mobile devices identified by the emergency call data received at the emergency network.
Call state notification for emergency call processing
Described herein are techniques, devices, and systems for monitoring failures associated with emergency calls. An IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) node can receive a session initiation protocol (SIP) request associated with a communication session associated with an emergency call for a user equipment (UE). The IMS node can transmit a first SIP notification to a location retrieval function (LRF). The IMS node can receive status information and set a call state associated with routing of the emergency call. The IMS node can transmit a second SIP notification based on the call state, the second SIP notification including information associated with a failure of processing of the emergency call.
NETWORK-BASED COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUES USING ENHANCED COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
Systems and methods for network-based communication techniques using an enhanced communication protocol. An example method includes receiving, from a first user device, a registration message comprising a plurality of communication paths over which the first user device is accessible, the communications paths indicating respective IP address/port pairs associated with the first user device, wherein information in the registration message is provided according to the session initiation protocol (SIP); setting a particular communication path as the preferred communication path for the first user device; and establishing a SIP connection between the first user device and the second user device, wherein SIP messages are routed from the second user device to the first user device via the particular communication path.
USER TERMINAL HAVING A PLURALITY OF SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULES
A user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE includes a first subscriber identity module (SIM) configured to correspond to a first cellular network, a second SIM configured to correspond to a second cellular network, a wireless communication circuit, and a processor configured to determine a SIM to be used for Internet data communication among the first SIM and the second SIM as the first SIM, perform a connection process for Internet data communication and internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) communication for a voice call with the first cellular network using first identification information about the first SIM, perform a connection process for the IMS communication with the second cellular network using second identification information about the second SIM, configure a parameter for the UE to support a narrow bandwidth for the second cellular network in UE capability information and transmit the UE capability information to the second cellular network.
Monitor device for use with endpoint devices
A system includes a plurality of SIP servers that are configured and arranged to provide services for a respective set of endpoints. A monitor server having at least one processor circuit receives connectivity status of the respective set of endpoint devices based on registration status provided by the endpoints to the SIP servers. Based upon the received connectivity status, endpoints having connectivity problems are parsed into subgroups. Based upon the parsed endpoints, potential problem sources for the connectivity problems of the parsed endpoints are identified. A monitor device having at LAN interface circuit connected to the LAN and at least one processor circuit receives the command from the monitor server and performs a diagnostic test on the LAN. Results from the at least one diagnostic test are provided to the monitor server.
Network slicing in IMS
Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network slicing. In some embodiments a method performed by a wireless device relating to registering with an IMS network slice or initiating a session using an IMS network slice comprises sending a message to an IMS node via a radio access network, the message comprising an identifier of a desired IMS network slice. In this manner, IMS network slicing is enabled.
Techniques for vetting inbound calls in a telecommunication network
Techniques are described for vetting unwanted calls. At an inbound customer call handling apparatus, a SIP INVITE is received from a destination carrier servicing the inbound customer intended for a destination user agent (UA) device of the inbound customer. The SIP INVITE includes a current origination identifier (ORIG ID) comprised of a fixed length character string. The call handling apparatus accesses a database of stored ORIG ID character strings, each stored ORIG ID character string in the database having been included with a previous SIP INVITE that has been previously associated with an unwanted inbound call. The call handling apparatus analyzes the current ORIG ID character string to determine if it matches any stored ORIG ID character strings in the database. When there is a match to a stored ORIG ID character string, the SIP INVITE is not forwarded to the destination UA device. Otherwise, it is forwarded to the destination UA device.
TWO-WAY REAL TIME COMMUNICATION SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS ASYMMETRIC PARTICIPATION IN CONVERSATIONS ACROSS MULTIPLE ELECTRONIC PLATFORMS
Methods, systems, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for receiving a first communication as part of a conversation, from an unauthenticated user of a web browser. A conversation identifier is determined based on the first communication. A first responder, a communication protocol, and a communication address of the first responder is determined. The first communication is sent to the first responder and a first reply is received. The conversation identifier is determined based on the first reply and the first reply is mapped to the web browser. The first reply is sent to the web browser.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SESSION INITIATED PROTOCOL (SIP) REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR ACCESS NETWORK BITRATE RECOMMENDATION (ANBR) CAPABILITY SIGNALING
In some embodiments, during the SIP registration, the UE indicates in the REGISTER requests its support for ANBR as defined by ANBR attribute in the SDP and the P-CSCF indicates its support for the ANBR attribute in the SDP in the response for registration. In some embodiments, the P-CSCF serving a PLMN passes through the ANBR attribute in the SDP when the P-CSCF recognizes that the PLMN supports ANBR functionality. In some embodiments, the UE can include ANBR attribute in the SDP offer and answers when the P-CSCF indicates its support for the ANBR attribute in the SDP.
System and method for processing media requests during telephony sessions
In a preferred embodiment, the method of caching media used in a telephony application includes: receiving a media request; sending the media request to a media layer using HTTP; the a media layer performing the steps of checking in a cache for the media resource; processing the media request within a media processing server; and storing the processed media in the cache as a telephony compatible resource specified by a persistent address. The system of the preferred embodiment includes a call router and a media layer composed of a cache and media processing server.
