RAN-assisted rate adaptation
11252612 · 2022-02-15 · ·

A base station transmits a rate recommendation to a first user equipment (UE) device. The rate recommendation is to be used for a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call between the first UE device and a second UE device. In some instances, the first UE device and the second UE device negotiate the rate to be used for the VoLTE call, based on the rate recommended by the base station. If the negotiated rate is supported by the base station and/or matches a supported codec rate, the UE devices implement the rate and provide rate feedback to the base station.

Methods for device-to-device connection re-establishment and related user equipments and radio access node

Methods for D2D connection re-establishment and related user equipments and radio access node are disclosed, wherein the D2D connection is established between a first user equipment and a second user equipment under the control of a radio access node. In one embodiment, the method comprises: receiving, by the first user equipments, a first message from the second user equipments, the first message comprising a first credential which is calculated by the second user equipment; verifying the first credential by the first user equipment; and sending a second message indicating acknowledgement of the D2D connection re-establishment from the first user equipment to the second user equipment upon successful verification of the first credential.

Apparatus and method for P-CSCF failure detection and processing

Described herein are apparatus and methods for detecting and handling Proxy-Call Session Control Function (P-CSCF) failures. A method may include sending, by a serving-CSCF (S-CSCF), a message to the P-CSCF to check operability. The S-CSCF may mark in a list that the P-CSCF is unavailable if a negative response or no response is received from the P-CSCF and may set a timer to recheck availability of the unavailable P-CSCF. A message is sent by the S-CSCF to a device management system to force a user device to stop using the unavailable P-CSCF and register with a different P-CSCF. The S-CSCF may recheck availability of the unavailable P-CSCF upon expiration of the timer and may remove the unavailable P-CSCF from the list when a positive response is received from the unavailable P-CSCF.

System and method for near real time detection of domain name impersonation
09762612 · 2017-09-12 · ·

Systems and methods are described for detecting domain name impersonation in the domain name system (DNS). A nefarious party may register a domain name in the DNS that impersonates a domain name associated with a company in an attempt to lure users to malicious destination network addresses based on their trust of that company. This may lead to the dilution of the company's online presence as its domains come to be associated with malicious activity. In embodiments, a system is described which receives inputs from a subscriber including the domain names the subscriber wishes to protect, ignore, or give special scrutiny to. The system receives instances of domain names registered in the DNS and performs methods to determine if the domain name is attempting to impersonate the domain names of the subscriber. Alerts are generated so that the subscriber may take corrective action.

Reception apparatus, reception method, transmission apparatus, and transmission method

The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method, by which channel selection information can be acquired more efficiently. Provided is a reception apparatus, including: a reception unit that receives a broadcast wave of digital broadcasting using an IP (Internet Protocol) transmission system; a communication unit that receives first signaling information for acquiring broadcast content transmitted by the broadcast wave through communication with a server via a network; an acquisition unit that acquires, on the basis of the first signaling information, a physical parameter used in a physical layer in a hierarchy of a protocol of the IP transmission system; and a control unit that controls, on the basis of the physical parameter, operations of respective units that perform channel selection processing. The present technology is applicable to a portable receiver that is movable, for example.

Mobile electronic communications using internet protocol

A database stores unique associations between account identifiers and mobile-network telephone numbers assigned by a mobile network to mobile communications devices. The account identifiers are also associated with voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone numbers. Voice calls between the mobile communications devices are made as voice-over-IP (VoIP) calls using respective VoIP telephone numbers. Tracking of the VoIP calls is performed through the mobile network using respective mobile-network telephone numbers, so that a prepaid balance can be enforced.

DISTRIBUTED NETWORK SYSTEM FOR CALL PROCESSING PROVIDED ARE A CALL PROCESSING METHOD PERFORMED BY A DISTRIBUTED NETWORK SYSTEM AND A RECORDING MEDIUM, IN WHICH A PROGRAM FOR EXECUTING THE CALL PROCESSING METHOD IS RECORDED
20220210204 · 2022-06-30 · ·

A distributed network system for call processing, according to one embodiment, includes: a plurality of relay devices; and a call routing server for managing information about the plurality of relay devices and information about subscribers registered to the plurality of relay devices, where each of the plurality of relay devices can include: a database; a protocol relay unit; a call processing unit for checking whether the sender of a call and the receiver of the call are at least one subscriber, on the basis of an SIP signal incoming through the protocol relay unit; and a packet processing unit for realigning incoming phone call packets of the call according to the sequence of the phone call packets, and adjusting the transmission speed of the realigned phone call packets according to a situation in which the phone call packets are incoming.

Communications approach and implementations therefor

A connection procedure for data communications devices is implemented in a variety of embodiments. In one such embodiment, the procedure uses a first set of connection data for attempting to connect and upon failure to connect uses a second set of connection information in addition to the first set of connection information to attempt a connection. In another embodiment, a delay is implemented before transmitting the connection information and a subsequent delay is implemented to allow for additional connection information to be input and transmitted.

Method and apparatus for providing media resources in a communication network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, providing a request associated with a call session to a server, wherein the request includes capability information associated with user equipment. A codec is identified according to the capability information to obtain an identified codec, which facilitates media service to the user equipment. The media service is accessed from a media resource function, which in turn, is accessed by the server responsive to the identified codec. An operable resource identifier is identified responsive to a search of a codec table, wherein the server accesses the operable resource identifier associated with the media resource function from a domain name server responsive to the resource identifier not being available at the codec table. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Methods and systems for provisioning emergency numbers

There is provided a method and device for provisioning emergency number information on a user equipment. When a dialed number matches an emergency number from the provisioned emergency number information, the user equipment selects either the circuit switched domain or the packet switched domain and executes a call setup procedure for that domain.
