Communication management system, communication system, computer-readable recording medium, and maintenance system
A communication management system includes: a storage unit configured to store destination information of a first communication terminal that establishes a first session with a relay device that relays communication data, destination information of a conversion system that performs mutual conversion between communication schemes of communication data transmitted from the first communication terminal and a second communication terminal and establishes a second session with the relay device, and destination information of the second communication terminal that establishes a third session with the conversion system; a receiving unit configured to receive start request information to start communication between the communication terminals from the first communication terminal; an extracting unit configured to extract destination information of each communication terminal and the conversion system stored in the storage unit, based on the received start request information; and a transmitting unit configured to transmit the extracted destination information to the relay device.
Management of media content playback
Example techniques may involve managing playback of media content by a playback device. In an example implementation, a playback device receives, via the network interface from a control device of the media playback system, an instruction to queue a container of audio tracks into a queue for playback by the playback device, wherein the container of audio tracks and consists of: (a) an album, (b) a playlist, or (c) an internet radio station. While the playback device is playing back the queue and before each audio track of the playlist is played back, the playback device determines whether the respective audio track is associated with a negative preference. If the respective audio track is associated with the negative preference, the playback device advances playback over the respective audio track to the next audio track within the queue.

Methods and devices for adjustment of the energy level of a played audio stream
This disclosure concerns the playback of audio, e.g. in the form of music. More particularly, the disclosure concerns the playback of streamed audio. In one example embodiment, there is a method of operating an electronic device for playback of an audio stream. While an audio stream is being played, for example at a user interface of the electronic device, a first request to adjust an energy level (e.g., a tempo) of the played audio stream is received. In response to receiving the first request, the energy level (e.g., the tempo) of the played audio stream is adjusted.

Communication system, distributed processing system, distributed processing method, and recording medium
A communication system includes: an image acquisition terminal to obtain a captured image, the captured image including at least one object that is captured with an imaging unit; a distributed data processing terminal to display the captured image; and a centralized data processing server connected with the distributed data processing terminal through a network. The image acquisition terminal includes: an object detector to detect the object in the captured image to generate a partial image that is a part of the captured image having the detected object; and a first transmitter to transmit the partial image to the distributed data processing terminal as data to be verified. The distributed data processing terminal includes: a second transmitter to transmit the data to be verified that is received from the image acquisition terminal, and verification data that is registered, respectively, to the centralized data processing server, the verification data being an image representing a specific object. The centralized data processing server includes: a verification unit to verify the data to be verified, using the verification data that is received from the distributed data processing terminal, to generate a verification result; and a third transmitter to transmit the verification result to the distributed data processing terminal, to cause the distributed data processing terminal to display information based on the verification result with the captured image.

System and method for usage billing of hosted applications
A system, method, and computer readable medium for usage billing of one or more hosted applications serving one or more clients. The hosted applications are contained within one or more isolated environments or run without isolated environments. The system may include usage billing based on one or more of resources open, amount of data flowing through resources, number of open files, number of transactions, number of concurrent users, number of processes, CPU utilization and memory usage, The system may further include a management interface where administrators may add, remove and configure isolated environments, configure client policies and credentials, and force upgrades. If using isolated environments, the isolated environments may be isolated from other applications and the host operating system on the clients and applications within the isolated environments may run without performing an application-installation on the client.

Data stream management
A method for managing data streams for similar content on multiple client devices includes receiving a new request for content from a server provider. In response to determining there is an existing request associated with an existing data stream for the content from the server provider, the method includes blocking the new request. The method also includes receiving the existing data stream from the service provider for the content via an external network and performing a stream computation for the existing data stream to provide a first data stream for the existing request for the content and a second data stream for the new request for the content. The method also includes sending the first data stream for the existing request for the content to a first client device and the second data stream for the new request for the content to a second client device, via a local network.
