METHODS AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES FOR DYNAMIC CONTROL OF PLAYLISTS
20180004480 · 2018-01-04 ·

This disclosure concerns the playback of audio content, e.g. in the form of music. More particularly, the disclosure concerns the playback of streamed audio. In one example embodiment, there is a method of operating an electronic device for dynamically controlling a playlist including one or several audio items. A request to adjust an energy level (e.g. a tempo) associated with the playlist is received. In response to receiving this request, the playlist is adjusted in accordance with the requested energy level (e.g., the tempo).

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ROUTING MEDIA
20180014045 · 2018-01-11 ·

In one aspect, a method for managing streaming of video content to a client device includes providing the video content to a content distribution network for storage in a plurality of geographically separated resources of the content distribution network and receiving, from the client device via a packet-based telecommunication network, signaling to have the stored video content streamed to the client device. In response to the received signaling, one or more files are transmitted to the client device via the packet-based telecommunication network, each of the one or more files being in a format compatible with a media player on the client device, the one or more files comprising (i) an identification of one or more of the resources of the content distribution network available to facilitate streaming of one or more segments of the stored video content to the client device, the identification being dependent at least in part on a relationship between a geographic location of the client device and geographic locations of the resources of the content distribution network, and (ii) an identification of an advertising server, the identification of the advertising server being dependent at least in part on a relationship between the geographic location of the client device and a geographic location of the advertising server, wherein the one or more files, when processed by the client device, cause the client device to communicate with the identified one or more resources of the content distribution network and the advertising server to cause the one or more segments of the stored video to be streamed to the client device by the identified one or more resources of the content distribution network and cause one or more advertisements to be streamed from the advertising server to the client device.

VIRTUALIZATION IN ADAPTIVE STREAM CREATION AND DELIVERY

An adaptive streaming server, a method, and a system are described herein that create a content stream to be delivered to one or more clients by segmenting the content into data structures which are stored in random access memory (volatile storage) rather than segmenting the content into segment files which are stored on a disk or database (non-volatile storage).

PARALLEL PROCESSING DATABASE SYSTEM

A method and system for executing database queries in parallel using a shared metadata store. The metadata store may reside on a master node, where the master node is the root node in a tree. The master node may distribute query plans and query metadata to other nodes in the cluster. These additional nodes may request additional metadata from each other or the master nodes as necessary.

Retroactive recording of a meeting

Systems and methods for recording a meeting using a retroactive record feature. The present technology provides for improved systems and methods for providing a recording of a virtual meeting, where a selection to initiate the recording from the beginning or an earlier time in the meeting from a current time may be received after the virtual meeting has started. The system may process received meeting content streams to generate a plurality of data segments that may collectively form a meeting recording. Each data segment, for example, may include meeting content associated with a particular user/attendee and associated with a timestamp and/or time duration. In some examples, the plurality of data segments may be stored on a blockchain, which may provide an immutable meeting record that may be concatenated together and made available for playback based on a selection to record the meeting and consent given by the users/attendees.

Metrics collection method and apparatus for streaming media, computer, and storage medium

A metrics collection method includes: transmitting a media data obtaining request to an application service device in response to a trigger operation for streaming media; obtaining a media data response message transmitted by the application service device, the media data response message including metrics collection configuration information, and the metrics collection configuration information including metrics collection environment information and network slice information; obtaining environment information of the streaming media, and when the environment information matches the metrics collection environment information, collecting metrics data corresponding to the streaming media; determining, based on the network slice information, a network path for reporting the metrics data; and reporting the metrics data to the application service device through the network path.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SHARING OF REAL-TIME, DYNAMIC, ADAPTIVE AND NON-LINEARLY ASSEMBLED VIDEOS ON PUBLISHER PLATFORMS
20180013739 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present disclosure provides a method and system for sharing a real time, dynamic, adaptive and non-linearly assembled video on one or more publisher platforms. The method includes collection of a first set of information associated with a publisher platform of the one or more publisher platforms and fetching a set of preference data of the user from the publisher platform in the real time. The method includes fragmentation of each tagged video into the one or more tagged fragments and segregation of one or more mapped fragments into one or more logical sets of mapped fragments. The method includes mining of semantic context information and clustering of the one or more logical sets of mapped fragments into the one or more logical clusters of mapped fragments. The method includes assembling the one or more logical clusters of mapped fragments and sharing an assembled video on the publisher platform.

HETEROGENEOUS MEDIA SERVICES

Systems and methods adapted for providing heterogeneous media services in communication systems, such as using transport layer security deferral and/or medium redirect, are disclosed. In operation according to embodiments, heterogeneous media services may be facilitated by obtaining, by a hybrid broadcast receiver of a receiver device, a computer parsable object comprising information regarding content segment availability and access, wherein the hybrid broadcast receiver is adapted to obtain content via both broadcast and broadband connections for a streaming client of the receiver device. The hybrid broadcast receiver of embodiments may further operate to evaluate the computer parsable object for one or more content segment entries indicating transport layer security is to be invoked with respect to a connection used for obtaining one or more content segments and to overwrite the one or more content segment entries preventing the transport layer security from being invoked by the streaming client.
