INFORMATION PUSHING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose an information pushing method performed at a computer server, the method comprising: receiving an information retrieving request sent by a client; in response to the information retrieving request, identifying an information list and a current retrieval position of the information list; retrieving, from the information list, multiple pieces of information starting from the current retrieval position in a cyclic manner; and pushing the multiple pieces of information to the client, wherein the multiple pieces of information is presented at the client in their retrieval order.
Cloud Connected Haptic Platform
A computer-based method for controlling a haptic actuator over a network is provided. The method includes, at a haptic server, receiving a selection of a haptic actuator connected to a haptic hardware support platform, receiving a selection of a haptic effect driver software package or library, receiving a selection of a haptic effect, creating a haptic command message including haptic actuator drive values, and transmitting the haptic command message to the haptic hardware support platform over the network. The haptic hardware support platform is configured to receive the haptic command message over the network, parse the haptic command message to extract the haptic actuator drive values, and apply a haptic actuator drive signal to the haptic actuator to play the selected haptic effect, the haptic actuator drive signal based on the haptic actuator drive values.
REAL-TIME APPLICATION BEHAVIOR CHANGES
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for adjusting a behavior of an application in real-time. Telemetry for a client computing device, a server computing device, and a network associated with the application may be received. It may be determined, while the application is running in real-time, whether to adjust the behavior of the application using the received telemetry. In response to determining to adjust the behavior of the application, the behavior of the application may be adjusted based on the received telemetry while the application is running in real-time.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ALERTING USERS REGARDING AVAILABILITY OF UNCONSUMED CONTENT
Methods and systems are described for a media guidance application that limits the incentive for authorized users to share content with unauthorized users, while still allowing users to access content virtually anywhere. Specifically, the media guidance application allows an authorized user to receive only a portion of a media asset that he or she is authorized to access on a different device, after a designated time period, and/or when the remaining portion of the media asset is inaccessible.
DISTRIBUTED CACHE FOR STATE TRANSFER OPERATIONS
A network arrangement that employs a cache having copies distributed among a plurality of different locations. The cache stores state information for a session with any of the server devices so that it is accessible to at least one other server device. Using this arrangement, when a client device switches from a connection with a first server device to a connection with a second server device, the second server device can retrieve state information from the cache corresponding to the session between the client device and the first server device. The second server device can then use the retrieved state information to accept a session with the client device.
APPARATUS, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A TUNNELING CLIENT ACCESS POINT
The disclosure details the implementation of an apparatus, method, and system comprising a portable device configured to communicate with a terminal and a network server, and execute stored program code in response to user interaction with an interactive user interface. The portable device contains stored program code configured to render an interactive user interface on a terminal output component to enable the user the control processing activity on the portable device and access data and programs from the portable device and a network server.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEAMLESS HOST MIGRATION
Systems and methods of the present invention for maintaining network data distribution are provided. Network data may be distributed in such as manner as to allow a network session to weather interrupted communications between host and clients without significant loss of data. Embodiments of the present invention provide for one or more clients to serve as backup host(s) for the network session. When the other clients transmit data to the host, they may also transmit the data to one or more backup hosts if there are any indications of interrupted communication.
REAL-TIME MESSAGING METHOD AND APPARATUS
A system and method for the late-biding of time-based media in real-time. With late binding, the sender may create time-based media before or at the same time an active delivery route to the recipient is discovered. As soon as the route becomes available, the media is transmitted. The existing DNS and email infrastructure is possibly used for route discovery, while any real-time transmission protocol may be used for the actual delivery of the media. “Progressive” emails may also be used for the real-time delivery of time-based media.
CLOUD FEDERATION AS A SERVICE
A Cloud federator may be used to allow seamless and transparent access by a Cloud Client to Cloud services. Federation may be provided on various terms, including as a subscription based real-time online service to Cloud Clients. The Cloud federator may automatically and transparently effect communication between the Cloud Client and Clouds and desired services of the Clouds, and automatically perform identity federation. A Service Abstraction Layer (SAL) may be implemented to simplify Client communication, and Clouds/Cloud services may elect to support the SAL to facilitate federation of their services.
End-To-End Secure Cloud Computing
A method includes receiving, at a control node of a cloud computing network, a first enterprise policy specific to the first enterprise and a second enterprise policy specific to the second enterprise, and managing communications between at least one user device of the first enterprise and the at least one enterprise application hosted on behalf of the first enterprise based on the first enterprise policy. The method also includes managing communications between at least one user device of the second enterprise and the at least one enterprise application hosted on behalf of the second enterprise based on the second enterprise policy.
