METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING A SUBSET FOR AUTONOMOUS SHARING OF DIGITAL MEDIA
Methods, systems, and devices for determining a subset of users from among a set of users based on a set of received information associated with a photograph, where the disposition of the information is used to first determine the subset and then perform facial recognition on the subset of photographs for each user in order to accurately identify each user or users present in the photograph.
System and method for storing lookup request rules in multiple memories
In one embodiment, a system includes a data navigation unit configured to navigate through a data structure stored in a first memory to a first representation of at least one rule. The system further includes at least one rule processing unit configured to a) receive the at least one rule based on the first representation of the at least one rule from a second memory to one of the rule processing unit, and b) processing a key using the at least one rule.
SYSTEM HAVING A PROTOCOL INDEPENDENT CONFIGURATION ENVIRONMENT
A system and approach that may provide a protocol independent environment to configure an ASC (application specific control) device in, for example, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. By using this system and approach, a user may reuse a device configuration already done for a device of one protocol in a device of another protocol without being required to reconfigure the latter device from scratch. This way may help a user to reduce the total setup time required to fully configure a device. The reduction may be done by simply exporting the configuration information from the first device and then importing the configuration information into the second device, where the internal protocol specific details can be handled internally by a tool. Thus, a user need not bother with the details that are in the background of the moving a configuration among devices of different protocols.
REDUCING LATENCY IN RENDERING OF CONTENT
Content rendering techniques are disclosed that reduce latency in rendering of content by extracting resource intensive content from the content. An example method may include identifying items of resource intensive content included in an item of original content, and extracting the items of resource intensive content from the item of original content. The extracted items of resource intensive content are replaced with corresponding extraction markers in the item of original content to create an item of modified content. At the time of rendering the item of modified content, the extracted items of resource intensive content may be retrieved and appropriately inserted into the item of modified content to recreate the item of original content.
HARDWARE BASED PACKET REPLICATION AT TAIL END NODE
Aspects of the disclosed technology address limitations relating to packet replication for multi-destination traffic, by providing methods for performing hardware-based replication in network infrastructure devices, such as switches. In some aspects, application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) resident in physical devices can be used to perform packet replication. Depending on implementation, a hardware-based replication process can include steps for receiving a first packet that includes a first outer header containing first address information, receiving a second packet including a second outer header containing a hardware replication flag, forwarding the first packet to all virtual tunnel endpoints (VTEPs) connected with the TOR switch, and performing hardware replication for the second packet based on the hardware replication flag to generate one or more unicast packets. Systems and machine readable media are also provided.
Selective mapping of coded multi-channel transmission
The present invention provides a methods, apparatus and systems for improving a systems-level data rate on a communications link such theorthogonal frequency division multiplexed multiple access (OFDMA) downlink used in used in WiFi and LTE cellular/wireless mobile data applications. The present invention preferably uses a form of multilevel coding and decoding known as tiled-building-block encoding/decoding. With the present invention, different receivers coupled to different parallel downlink channels with different channel qualities decode different received signal constellations at different levels of resolution. This allows the downlink of the OFDMA system to operate with a significantly higher data rate, thus eliminating existing inefficiencies in the downlink and significantly increasing system level bandwidth efficiency.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING NETWORK RESOURCE TRANSMISSION SIZE USING DELTA COMPRESSION
A method and computing device for delta compression techniques for reducing network resource transmission size are described. A first version of a network resource is received. The first version of the network resource is stored regardless of a directive that a cached version is not to be used to respond to a future request for that network resource. A first request for the network resource is received. A second request for the network resource is transmitted, to a second computing device. A response including a set differences between the first version of the network resource with a most current version of the network resource is received from the second computing device without receiving the entire network resource. An updated version of the network resource is transmitted to the client device, where the updated version is generated by applying the set of differences to the first version of the network resource.
TRANSCODING WITH A VECTOR PROCESSING UNIT
A method includes, with a computing system, receiving a plurality of packets for transcoding, the plurality of packets comprising a first set of packets having data in a first format and a second set of packets having data in a second format, with the computing system, placing the first set of packets in a first queue, the first queue comprising packets from more than one communication session, with the computing system, placing the second set of packets in a second queue, the second queue having packets from more than one communication session, with the computing system, processing packets of the first queue with a graphics processing unit, and with the computing system, after processing the packets of the first queue with the graphics processing unit, processing packets of the second queue with the graphics processing unit.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING BROADCAST SIGNAL
A method for transmitting and receiving a broadcast signal is disclosed. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: performing delivery layer processing on broadcast service data and signaling information about the broadcast service data; performing UDP/IP encapsulating on the broadcast service data and the signaling information about the broadcast service data; and performing physical layer processing on the broadcast service data and the signaling information about the broadcast service data.
Method and system to estimate user desired delay for resource allocation for mobile cloud applications
A method for user-desired delay estimation for mobile-cloud applications includes: collecting, by a mobile device, data for a mobile application using at least one of sensors, an application logger and a user feedback module of the mobile device; inferring, by the mobile device, a quality of experience based on the collected data; determining, by the mobile device, a desired delay based on the inferred quality of experience; and offloading, by the mobile device, a task to a cloud together with the desired delay.
