Communications device and method of communications
Embodiments of a device and method are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method of communications involves at a communications device, receiving a request for changing a network parameter of the communications device and at the communications device, granting or denying the request based on link status information that is stored in the communications device, where the link status information specifies a link failure status of a communications link within a wired communications network that involves the communication device.
Performance measurement mechanism
Techniques and structures to prevent exhaustion of a database connection pool, including receiving a plurality of events from a plurality of application servers operating as a database connection pool, categorizing each of the plurality of events, including generating a categorization message for each of the plurality events, wherein each categorization message includes one or more fields having contextual information to identify an event type to which an event is associated, analyzing the categorization messages to generate an event record; and generating a report based on the event record including one or more performance measurements to indicate an effectiveness of management of the database connection pool.
Broker cell for distributed message system
Examples are disclosed that relate to message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT) broker cells. One example provides a computing system configured to implement an MQTT broker cell comprising instructions executable to operate two or more back-end brokers arranged in a matrix, the matrix comprising m vertical chains of back-end brokers and k back-end brokers in each vertical chain, each vertical chain comprising at least a head back-end broker and a tail back-end broker, each vertical chain configured to replicate a state update received at the head back-end broker through the vertical chain to the tail back-end broker, and operate n front-end brokers, each front-end broker configured to output a control message to a selected vertical chain of the m vertical chains and to output an application message for publication to subscribers and to one or more other MQTT broker cells. The instructions are further executable to operate r networking devices.
Remote Data Replication Method and System
A remote data replication method and a storage system, where a production array sends a data replication request to a disaster recovery array. The data replication request includes an identifier of a source object and a data block corresponding to the source object. The data block is stored in physical space of a hard disk of the production array. The disaster recovery array receives the data replication request. The disaster recovery array creates a target object when the disaster recovery array does not include an object having a same identifier as the source object. An identifier of the target object is the same as the identifier of the source object, the disaster recovery array writes the data block into the physical space.

Data Logging in Aerial Platform
A method including powering on a controller and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Setting a clock time on the controller to an initial time. Connecting the UAV to a global positioning satellite (GPS). Linking the controller and the UAV and comparing the initial time to a time from the GPS. Setting the clock time of the controller and the UAV so that the controller and the UAV have a same time.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTION AND ALERT OF ENERGY RESOURCE OUTAGES
A system for alert of energy resource outages includes: a resource monitor, disposed within radio range of resource meters that each transmit corresponding radio signals indicative of corresponding meter identifiers and current readings, configured to: determine whether the corresponding radio signals are fixed frequency or frequency hopping by scanning frequency channels for a time period and counting hits of desired meter identifiers; decode each of the one or more of the corresponding radio signals of the resource meters according to determined protocol to obtain one or more of the corresponding meter identifiers and current readings; and transmit the one or more of the corresponding meter identifiers and current readings; and a server, configured to: receive the one or more of the corresponding meter identifiers and current readings; employ the corresponding meter identifiers and current readings to detect an outage; and transmit an alert that corresponds to the outage.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HIERARCHICAL FAILOVER GROUPS
A logical grouping of subgroups of server clusters forms a failover super-cluster. A logical grouping of groups of servers provides high availability by, upon failure of an entire group (site), failing over an entire subgroup to a different subgroup. Yet within each subgroup local failovers continue to maintain application high availability during instances in which the site remains operational.
CONTROL SYSTEM
A control system is configured by two-way communication conducted between a controller and a display terminal for displaying an operating state of the controller, and includes a processing time managing unit configured to measure time taken for processing pieces of data received from another end, and obtain from the other end and manage time taken on the other end for processing the pieces of data sent to the other end, and a congestion control unit configured to adjust a data sending amount to the other end per unit time based on the time taken for processing the pieces of data on the other end which are managed by the processing time managing unit.
