System and method for URL fetching retry mechanism
11675866 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A method for overcoming intermittent, temporary, or other fetching failures by using multiple attempts for retrieving a content from a web server to a client device is disclosed. The URL fetching may use direct or non-direct fetching schemes, or a combination thereof. The non-direct fetching method may use intermediate devices, such as proxy server, Data-Center proxy server, tunnel devices, or any combination thereof. Upon sensing a failure of a fetching action, the action is repeated using the same or different parameters or attributes, such as by using different intermediate devices, selected based on different parameters or attributes, such as different countries. The repetitions are limited to a pre-defined maximum number or attempts. The fetching attempts may be performed by the client device, by an intermediate device in a non-direct fetching scheme, or a combination thereof. Various fetching schemes may be used sequentially until the content is retrieved.

System and Method for Intelligent Discovery and Rescue of Devices in an Internet-of-Things Network
20170346677 · 2017-11-30 ·

A device network includes an Internet-of-things (IoT) device, a gateway device, a communication device, and a monitor system. The monitor system establishes a first communication path to the IoT device via the gateway device, determines that the gateway device has failed and that the first communication path has been interrupted, determines that the communication device is within communications range of the IoT device, and directs the communication device to establish a second communication path between the IoT device and the monitor system via the communication device in response to determining that the communication device is within communications range of the IoT device.

Stream computing application shutdown and restart without data loss
20170344382 · 2017-11-30 ·

In a stream computing application shutdown, a shutdown message is received by a source operator of the stream computing application. In response, the source operator stops acquiring data from external sources, sends any cached data to an output queue of the source operator, sends the shutdown message to the output queue of the source operator, and sends the cached data and shutdown message to an input queue of another operator in the stream computing application. The source operator then terminates. In response to receiving the shutdown message, the other operator completes the processing of data in its input queue and sends any outputs from the processing of the data in its input queue to one or more output destinations. The other operator then terminates. In this manner, a stream computing application may be shut down while ensuring that any already inputted data is processed to completion, thus avoiding data loss.

System and method for cluster management based on HPC architecture

Cluster management software comprises a plurality of cluster agents, with each cluster agent associated with an HPC node including an integrated fabric and the cluster agent operable to determine a status of the associated HPC node. The software further includes a cluster management engine communicably coupled with the plurality of the HPC nodes and operable to execute an HPC job using a dynamically allocated subset of the plurality of HPC nodes based on the determined status of the plurality of HPC nodes.

Systems and methods for automated module-based content provisioning

A global architecture (GLP), as disclosed herein, is based on the thin server architectural pattern; it delivers all its services in the form of web services and there are no user interface components executed on the GLP. Each web service exposed by the GLP is stateless, which allows the GLP to be highly scalable. The GLP is further decomposed into components. Each component is a microservice, making the overall architecture fully decoupled. Each microservice has fail-over nodes and can scale up on demand. This means the GLP has no single point of failure, making the platform both highly scalable and available. The GLP architecture provides the capability to build and deploy a microservice instance for each course-recipient-user combination. Because each student interacts with their own microservice, this makes the GLP scale up to the limit of cloud resources available—i.e. near infinity.

Method, device and system for carrying out telecommunication capability group sending

A method, device and system for carrying out telecommunication capability group sending is provided, each node of a system for carrying out telecommunication capability group sending corresponds to a database service node, a plurality of database service nodes perform load balancing or switching on failure within themselves and each node of the system for carrying out telecommunication capability group sending may quickly read the subscription relationships and send down messages to users. The above technical solution increases the database access speed and avoids the problem of database's resources shortage and improves service performance of the telecommunication capability group sending.

Alerting service desk users of business services outages

An approach is provided in a service desk detects a current computer resource outage and identifies applications corresponding to the computer resource outage. The service desk uses historical service request entries to match the identified applications to users previously inquiring about the applications and, in turn, sends notifications to the users regarding the computer resource outage.

METHOD FOR CONVEYING AP ERROR CODES OVER BLE ADVERTISEMENTS
20230179472 · 2023-06-08 ·

Methods and apparatus for obtaining status from an isolated AP that cannot connect to a remote management server are described. The status information is obtained from a second device and then provided, via the second device, to the remote management server. At least some of the disclosed embodiments are utilized in a system including a plurality of access points, which can provide alternate pathways to the remote management server. The remote management server determines a remedial action based on the status information.

SERVICE REQUEST HANDLING
20230179653 · 2023-06-08 ·

There is provided a method for handling a service request. The method is performed by a first service communication proxy (SCP) node. If no response is received from a second network function (NF) node of a service producer to a first request transmitted towards the second NF node via the first SCP node, where the first request is for the second NF node to execute a service requested by a first NF node of a service consumer, transmission of information is initiated towards the first NF node. The information is indicative that no response is received from the second NF node to the first request.
