The present invention provides methods, apparatuses, and systems for delivering protected streaming content to a receiving device. In an aspect of the present invention, a broadcaster provides streaming content. To ensure viewers are properly authorized, the streaming content is encrypted with a traffic key. The traffic key is provided to the users via a key stream message, which is encrypted with a service key. The user obtains at least one rights object from a rights issuers and the at least one rights object includes the service key so that the streaming content may be used. The at least one rights object also contains information regarding usage rights that may be configured by the rights issuer so that, depending on the user and/or the receiving device, different rights may be available. The key stream message may include a program category variable value that indicates the type of content and in conjunction with the rights object, determines what usage rights exist for the streaming content.

Apparatus and Method for Protecting Media Content Rights

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a server having a controller to maintain content rights parameters associated with media content and a user where the content rights parameters include limits to distribution of the media content to a plurality of communication devices associated with the user and where a portion of the plurality of communication devices use different communication protocols from another portion of the plurality of communication devices, monitor for access to the media content by one communication device of the plurality of communication devices of the user, and obtain rights control data that is adapted to allow for presentation of the media content by the one communication device of the user where the rights control data is generated based on the content rights parameters. Digital rights management in three-dimensional (3D) printing

Systems, methods and media for managing digital rights in three-dimensional (3D) printing are provided. In one example, a registration of digital rights in a first 3D object is received from a first user and via a portal. The registration includes a certification device. The registration including the certification device is published in an online environment, and the first 3D object is made available for replication by second users via the portal. A request for access to the digital rights in the first 3D object is received from a second user for 3D printing of the first 3D object. Permission is granted under the digital rights in the first 3D object to the second user for printing the first 3D object. Instructions are electronically transmitted to a 3D printer to print the first 3D object, and the 3D printer prints the first 3D object based on the instructions.

In some examples, a system for server-side rendering of password-protected files can receive, from a client device, a request to view a file on the system, determine that the file should be converted to a different format prior to presentation at the client device, and determine that the file is a password-protected file. The system can send a response to the client device indicating the file is a password-protected file. In response to receiving the password from the client device, the system can generate, based on the password, a preview of the password-protected file including at least a portion of the password-protected file rendered in the different format. After generating the preview, the system can store an encrypted copy of the preview in storage for future requests, and send the preview to the client device.

Establishing the service session can include establishing a service session with a first client in response to a service request received from the first client, the first client associated with an account including a service policy. Selecting the service appliance can include selecting the cloud-based service appliance or the on-premise service appliance, based on the service policy, to handle the service request. Upon selection of the on-premise service appliance, the coordination server controls a sequence of operations performed by the on-premise service appliance to satisfy the service request.

Methods and systems for providing media asset recommendations based on distributed blockchain analysis

Systems and methods are described for providing media recommendation to a user based on analyzing a blockchain ledger. A user interest score that represents interest of the user in media assets associated with a first keyword is stored. A blockchain ledger is accessed. The blockchain ledger includes multiple blocks, each block identifying: (1) a media asset; (2) a seller user; and (3) buyer user. A blockchain ledger is searched to find a block that: (1) identifies a first media asset that comprises metadata which includes the first keyword; and (2) identifies the user as the seller. The user interest score is then reduced based on such a block being found. A media asset recommendation is then provided to the user based on the user interest score.
