Adaptively scheduling playback or presentation, based on user action(s)
09645788 · 2017-05-09 ·

Methods and apparatus for providing a personalized entertainment experience, which may be customized for each user. A user's playback/presentation history and/or user actions may be captured and associated with each played/presented composition. A target time for playback/presentation of a composition to the user may be determined by using a user's playback/presentation history and/or user actions. The target time for playback/presentation may incorporate a target time between playbacks/presentations of a composition, which may be at least partially based on a user's playback/presentation history and/or user actions. A customized sequence of compositions may be automatically generated for each user. The personalized sequence may automatically adapt to changing user actions and preferences over time. In one embodiment, a target time for next playback/presentation may be at least partially based on relationship(s) that is/are at least partially based on prior controls and/or action(s) by the user that are related to the composition.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING RIGHTS MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR NETWORK SERVICES

A system and method for facilitating playback of media resources by a playback device. The system receives a selection input for one or more media resources. The selection input may correspond to a user input provided on a device other than the playback device. The system communicates the selection input to a first network service storing the one or more media resources, and receives, from the first network service, playback links for accessing the one or more media resources. The system then transmits the received playback links, over a network, to a playback device to enable the playback device to retrieve the one or more media resources from the first network service.

System and method for wirelessly transacting access to a set of events and associated digital content/products

One or more content providers push data related to: movies, movie products, digital movie content over a network (e.g., a LAN, a WAN, the Internet, or a wireless network) onto an information filling station which, in turn, wirelessly transacts (over a network based on the 802.11b protocol) and transmits any requested data to a portable computer-based device (e.g., laptop, a pen-based computer device, a PDA, a wireless phone, or a pager). The portable device performs financial transactions for: purchasing movie tickets (directly or via auctions), downloading digital entertainment content of interest (e.g., copy of a movie of interest, copy of a movie identified based on a pre-stored profile, copy of soundtrack of a movie of interest), or movie related products. Any purchased digital content is either transferred wirelessly onto the portable device or, optionally, sent on a storage medium to a physical address associated with the profile.

Conditionally releasing a communiqué determined to be affiliated with a particular source entity in response to detecting occurrence of one or more environmental aspects

A computationally implemented method includes, but is not limited to: intercepting a communiqu that is determined to be affiliated with a source entity and that is addressed to an end user to prevent, at least temporarily, the communiqu from being received by a communication device associated with the end user; and releasing the communiqu to the communication device in response to at least detecting occurrence of one or more environmental aspects associated with the communication device, the releasing of the communiqu being in accordance with one or more conditional directives of the end user to conditionally obfuscate the communiqu determined to be affiliated with the source entity. In addition to the foregoing, other method aspects are described in the claims, drawings, and text forming a part of the present disclosure.

Compression and decompression techniques for DRM license information delivery

Techniques for compressing and decompressing license information for Digital Rights Management are described. A method implementation of a technique of creating for a plurality of client devices or client device groups compressed license information comprises the steps of creating a template and a table. The table comprises at least one first license part common to licenses for the plurality of client devices or client device groups and one or more placeholders for one or more second license parts specific for a dedicated client device or client device group. The table comprises, for each client device or client device group and for a given placeholder, replacement information specific for that client device or client device group. The method further comprises sending the template and table for delivery as compressed license information to the client devices or client device groups.

Processing copyright notice of media file
09633181 · 2017-04-25 · ·

A system and method for processing the copyright notice of a media file stored in digital format in an electronic device are provided. The copyright notice of the media file is checked prior and/or during transmission between two devices and if the copyright notice is not found, action is taken to insert the copyright notice. The copyright notice is presented when the media file is presented.

Digital rights management engine systems and methods

Systems and methods are described for performing digital rights management. In one embodiment, a digital rights management engine is provided that evaluates license associated with protected content to determine if a requested access or other use of the content is authorized. In some embodiments, the licenses contain control programs that are executable by the digital rights management engine.

Circuit device and a communication apparatus

An application program relating to a process of an integrated circuit is stored in a virtual integrated circuit storage area server apparatus. Following a mutual authentication between the IC and the virtual storage area server apparatus through a portable communication function unit, the server apparatus executes the application program. Additionally, through the IC, the portable communication function unit, a wireless communication line, and a network, communicate with an IC_R/W apparatus and perform a process relating to a service in collaboration with each other.

VIRTUAL COLLABORATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20170099297 · 2017-04-06 ·

A system including a domain controller and a document, policy, and collaboration servers. The document server receives a request signal based on an input received at a web browser of a user device and generates an authentication signal. The request signal requests access to a document. The document server provides a cloud-based service for access to the document. The domain controller, based on the authentication signal, determines a profile or authorization level of a user. The document server, based on the profile or the authorization level, transmits a second authentication signal to the user device. The policy server stores a digital rights management policy for the user. The collaboration server: based on the second authentication signal, receives a digital rights management signal from the user device; and based on the digital rights management policy of the user, permits a controller of the user device to access the document.
