COPYRIGHT DETECTION AND PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method for detecting against unauthorized transmission of digital works comprises the steps of maintaining a registry of information permitting identification of digital copyrighted works, monitoring a network for transmission of at least one packet-based digital signal, extracting at least one feature from the at least one digital signal, comparing the extracted at least one feature with registry information and applying business rules based on the comparison result.
Controlled environment secure media streaming system
A Controlled Environment Secure Media Streaming System manages the delivery of content to Secured Devices. Cloud Services provide content to Integration Hub. The Integration Hub interfaces with various cloud services providers and prepares content for consumption by a resident of a secured facility. Integration Hub utilizes Content Filter to inspect content received from cloud service providers for suitability for use in a secured environment. Once content is retrieved, filtered, formatted, and packaged by Integration Hub, the content is stored in Data Warehouse. Secured Devices request content from the Distribution Hub, the Distribution Hub retrieves the content from the Data Warehouse, and then Distribution Hub manages the transfer of content to the Secured Devices. In some embodiments, Distribution Hub utilizes Content Filter to determine whether or not a particular Secured Device can access particular content.
User interface for selection of multiple accounts and connection points
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a user interface that enables a user to more easily identify servers that may be used to set access permissions for content items. The method and system described herein includes receiving user credentials that are associated with a user. In response to receiving the user credentials, one or more servers associated with the user credentials are displayed. The one or more servers are configured to manage information rights for a content item created by the user. Upon receiving a selection of one of the one or more servers, a list of one or more templates supported by the selected server is displayed to the user. The one or more templates identify information rights that may be applied to the content item.
SIGNAL CONTINUITY ASSESSMENT USING EMBEDDED WATERMARKS
Methods, apparatus, and systems use embedded watermarks to determine whether the segments of a multimedia content has been rearranged. The embedded watermarks are recovered from the content and one or more attributes associated with the recovered watermarks are identified. A continuity of the content can then be assessed in accordance with the one or more attributes. The continuity assessment may be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a determined heartbeat of the recovered watermarks, a density, separation, location, or extent, of the recovered watermarks, as well as information associated with the watermarks, such as a stego key, channel bits, packet numbers, a fingerprint, or the like.
Processing copyright notice of media file
A system and method for processing the copyright notice of a media file stored in digital format in an electronic device are provided. The copyright notice of the media file is checked prior and/or during transmission between two devices and if the copyright notice is not found, action is taken to insert the copyright notice. The copyright notice is presented when the media file is presented.
Mobile token driven software licensing
A token contains licensing information for software stored on another computer. The token connects to the computer wirelessly, and transmits the licensing information, preferably automatically. While the token is connected to the computer, at least one factor in a multi-factor authentication scheme is satisfied for licensed use of the software. When the token disconnects from the computer either at will, or by exceeding the range of the wireless connection, the software on the computer becomes unlicensed and then can no longer execute.
System and method for extracting device uniqueness to assign a license to the device
An information handling system includes a device, a controller, and a license manager subsystem. The controller is configured to determine whether the device has a license assigned and to extract a unique identification for the device in response to a request for information about the device. The license manager subsystem is configured to send the request for information about the device to the controller, to send the unique identification for the device to a license server as a request for the license for the device, to receive the license from the license server, and to assign the license to the device when the license is received.
Disabling prohibited content and identifying repeat offenders in service provider storage systems
Objects in a shared storage system can be marked as including prohibited content. Incidents that result in objects being so marked can be stored in an incident history associated with a user responsible for those objects. The incident history can be processed to identify repeat offenders and modify access privileges of those users. However, when objects are shared by one user with another user, prohibited content is blocked from being shared, while the remainder of the shared objects can be accessed by the other user. Functions that allow sharing of content are implemented so as prevent sharing of prohibited content with another user, while allowing other content to be shared. If a group of files or objects is shared, then the presence of prohibited content in one object in the group results in that prohibited content not being shared, but the remaining files or objects are still shared.
Secure and efficient content screening in a networked environment
Methods, devices, and computer program products facilitate the application of a content use policy based on watermarks that are embedded in a content. Watermark extraction and content screening operations, which can include the application of content usage enforcement actions, may be organized such that some or all of the operations can be conducted at different times by different devices. These operations can be conducted by one or more trusted devices that reside in a networked environment. The authenticity of various devices can be verified through the exchange of certificates that can further enable such devices to ascertain capabilities of one another. Based on the ascertained capabilities, an operational configuration for conducting watermark extraction and content screening can be determined.
