Apparatus and methods concerning simulation of call quality are disclosed. In an example embodiment, computing server is communicatively coupled to a server. The computing server includes a communication circuit configured to receive a first set of data including audio of a call routed by the server. The computing server also includes a processing circuit configured to characterize a post-transmission quality state of the first set of data. The processing circuit is also configured to generate a second set of data including audio that is different from the audio of the call and data including characteristics indicative of the post-transmission quality state of a first set of data. The processing circuitry may configured to use the second set of data to provide security, protect the confidentiality and privacy, and/or monitor changes of behavior/quality for different audio CODECs, encryption, bit-rate, etc.

According to one embodiment, a system includes a base station including a first communication port configured to create a wireless connection to a first mobile telephone via Bluetooth; and a second communication port configured to create a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) connection to a first telephone network; wherein the base station is configured to retrieve a first contact list from the first mobile telephone, and is configured to send information from the first contact list to a memory.

A physical power supply unit (PSU) may be connected to several load subsystems. A first load subsystem may receive a first portion of a first load power directly from the physical PSU via a main power connector, the main power connector having a power limit less than the first load power. A communication terminal for Internet telephony is provided that handles and control communication of data in accordance with a standardized network protocol and exchanges data with a connecting unit connected to the Internet where the resulting data exchanged between the terminal and a connecting unit consist of packets in a standardized protocol data packet format embedded in a wireless format. A communication apparatus according to the present invention includes: a memory (110) configured to store communication data with a communication destination; and a control unit (120) configured to transmit and receive the communication data to and from the communication destination in each first duration and store the transmitted and received communication data in the memory (110), then output, after a communication session with an external recording apparatus that records the communication data is established, the communication data stored in the memory (110) to the external recording apparatus in each second duration that is shorter than the first duration.

An apparatus including a server is disclosed for providing data-communications services to and configuring contact lists for a plurality of VoIP-enabled devices. The apparatus includes a data server communicatively connected to the plurality of user-communications devices. In response to receiving a first data message, from a first device not included in the plurality of devices, that includes contact information and identifies one of the plurality of devices, the device management circuit adds a new contact having the contact information to the respective contact list of the identified one of the plurality of devices.

According to one embodiment, a system includes a base station capable of being connected to at least one handset, the base station including a first communication port configured to create a wireless connection to a first mobile telephone and a second mobile telephone via Bluetooth, where the first mobile telephone uses a first mobile telephone network and the second mobile telephone uses a second mobile telephone network.
