A device is described that, while operating in an automobile configuration, causes a vehicle system of an automobile to display part of an automobile graphical user interface (GUI) while locally displaying a different part of the automobile GUI. Responsive to receiving user input for switching to a non-automobile GUI that permits access to at least some features of the device that are restricted by the automobile GUI, the device replaces the part of the automobile GUI that is locally displayed on the device with the non-automobile GUI, all while continuing to cause the vehicle system to display its part of the automobile GUI. The device accesses the at least some features of the device and responsive to receiving user input for switching back to the automobile GUI, the device replaces the non-automobile GUI with the part of the automobile GUI that was previously displayed by the device.

A method for receiving audio broadcasts during a digital enhanced cordless telecommunication (DECT) frame, the method may include (a) opening, during a DECT frame and by a portable point (PP) that is a potential recipient of the audio broadcasts from a fixed part (FP), multiple reception windows that are spaced apart from each other and are allocated to receive signals related to audio broadcast; (b) receiving received signals, by the PP and during the multiple spaced apart reception windows; and (c) processing, by the PP, the received signals.

According to one embodiment, a system includes a base station wirelessly connected to a first handset and a second handset, the base station including a first communication port configured to create a wireless connection to a first mobile telephone and a second mobile telephone via Bluetooth, where the first mobile telephone uses a first mobile telephone network and the second mobile telephone uses a second mobile telephone network.

The operations may include obtaining, from the first network interface, audio from a communication session with a remote device established over the first network and obtaining an indication of a communication device available to participate in the communication session and direct audio obtained from the communication session to a remote transcription system. Devices, systems and methods are provided to support a party call with auto-joining function in a communication system for a distributed transport system that employs VoIP technology. A VoIP unit or end point acts as a conference bridge between an operator extension and other end points. A first end point makes a SIP call to the operator and multicasts a mix of its send audio and the received operator audio. Other end points first check for multicast traffic being received before making a SIP call to the operator and, if so, play out the received audio over its speaker and multicast its send audio. The end point initiating the call mixes this subsequent stream into a stream to the operator, effectively acting as the conference bridge to the operator. The other end points are responsible for mixing received multicast streams for their local speaker.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for communicating with a hotel, for example, by establishing calls from a mobile communication device as an extension of a PBX of the hotel. The mobile communication device can receive, by a network interface, guest registration data for a guest of the hotel, including the room assignment and one or more guest service extensions on the PBX. The mobile communication device can store the guest registration data in electronic memory to configure the one or more guest service keys with the one or more guest service extensions. The mobile communication device can based on a selection of a key of one or more guest service keys, communicate directly with the PBX, by the network interface, to place and receive calls as an extension of the PBX associated with the hotel room assignment.
