Method and apparatus for establishing data link based on audio connection
In a communications system, after parties form a voice telephone connection, the parties respective communications devices automatically create or leverage machine readable features or content of the telephone connection to identify the parties to each other or to a rendezvous server, and thereafter the communications devices and/or the rendezvous server automatically establishes a data link between the parties.
Telephony terminal
Methods and apparatus implementing a telephony terminal for connecting a telephone to a data network. In one implementation, a telephony system includes: a phone connection for connecting to a telephone; a network connection for connecting to a network; and a controller connected to said phone connection and to said network connection; wherein said controller provides a phone service for processing information for said phone connection, said controller provides a network service for processing information for said network connection, and said controller provides a network voice service for converting information to and from a network voice format.
Method and apparatus for selecting a communication network
A method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for selecting a network for telecommunication are provided. A type of network supporting a called identifier is identified. Several types of networks are accessible to a calling communication device. A database is queried with a query including the called identifier to identify the types of networks that are accessible to a called communication device. A network corresponding to the called communication device is selected at the calling communication device. A communication session is established between the calling and called communication devices using the selected network.
Terminal device, terminal configuration system, and terminal configuration method
[Problem] To provide a communication system for simplifying terminal device configuration. [Solution] A communication system comprises a server and a terminal device. The server stores first information in order for the terminal device to communicate, and stores second information in order for the terminal device to connect to a network of the other bases. When the power is turned on in a normal operation, the terminal device connects to the network by using network information in a non-volatile memory unit, obtains the first information from the server, and writes the same in a volatile memory unit. Thus, the terminal device starts operation. When the power is turned on by using a particular operation, the terminal device connects to the network by using the network information in the non-volatile memory unit, obtains network information of the other bases from the server, and stores the same in the non-volatile memory unit. Thus, it is possible to connect to the network of the other bases.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A communication device includes a processor configured to execute speech processing using a first speech function of providing radio device service requiring a predetermined operation for transmitting transmission sound during speech or speech processing using a second speech function of providing telephone service requiring no predetermined operation for transmitting transmission sound during speech, a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped housing formed by joining a front case and a rear case, a physical keypad mounted at an outer wall surface side of the front case, a speaker storage part provided at an inner wall surface side of the front case, and a speaker mounted on the speaker storage part with an orientation capable of emitting sound to the inner wall surface side in such a manner as to face an abutment surface between the front case and the physical keypad.
VOICE COMMUNICATION METHOD
While in a full-duplex live audio communication session with an external device, an electronic device receives control signal data from the external device. In response, the electronic device issues a perceptual notification. After a first predetermined time period since receiving the control signal data, the electronic device receives audio data from the external device. After a second predetermined time period since issuing the perceptual notification, the electronic device outputs the audio data from the speaker.
Method and system for over-the-top voice for internet of things devices
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are provided to receive, from an end device, a registration message pertaining to a voice service that restricts the end device to place a voice call to and receive a voice call from a designated call center; obtain subscription data pertaining to the end device and including an enterprise identifier; determine whether the end device is authorized to use the voice service based on the enterprise identifier; transmit to the end device, an acceptance message indicating a registration of the end device when the end device is authorized; receive from the end device, a session establishment message; replace a uniform resource identifier of the designated call center included in the session establishment message, with the enterprise identifier; select, based on the enterprise identifier, another network device to transmit the session establishment message; and transmit the session establishment message based on the selection.
Packet-Switched Telephony
In implementations of packet-switched telephony, a packet switched telephony service provider receives a call request from a user device. The call request includes a telephone number corresponding to a public-switched telephone network subscriber. The call request is transmitted from the packet switched telephony service provider to a gateway for forwarding to the public-switched telephone network subscriber. A call is caused to be established between the user device and the public-switched telephone network subscriber.

Converged Voice Mail Services
Novel tools and techniques for providing enhanced services to telephone subscribers with multiple telephone lines, which can include one or more traditional telephone lines, wireless telephone lines, Internet protocol-based telephone lines, and/or the like. For example, certain tools can provide a subscriber with a unified voice mailbox for a plurality of the subscriber's telephone lines. In some cases, the subscriber does not need to check multiple voice mailboxes (each associated with one of the subscriber's telephone numbers) in order to ensure that the subscriber has received all messages intended for that subscriber. Instead, any incoming call on any of the subscriber's lines can be routed to a converged voice mailbox for easy retrieval by the subscriber of all messages from one location. Some tools employ a VoIP switch to handle routing of the incoming call to the correct voice mailbox.
