A communication device and method can include one or more processors operatively coupled to memory and an audible output device, where the one or more processors receive a call from a calling party that includes caller identification information and a voice paging message associated with the caller identification information, presenting the caller identification information, presenting the voice paging message as an alias of or to a ring tone or interleaved with the ring tone before the call from the calling party is answered or rejected. An apparatus, system and method (500) is disclosed. The method includes receiving (501) an identification of a called party and an identification of a first user equipment (UE) device (102a) of a calling party for establishing a communication between the calling party and the called party. The method includes based on the identification of the first UE device of the calling party, receiving (502) a list including a plurality of MSISDNs. The method includes selecting (503), based on the identification of the called party, a MSISDN of the plurality of MSISDNs as a caller-id for displaying on a second UE device (102b) associated with the called party. The method can further include displaying (504) the selected MSISDNs.

Systems and methods for multi-factor authentication of a caller identification (ID) identifier are disclosed. In embodiments, a method includes: receiving, by a computing device of a call recipient, a call request message from a remote caller device of a caller, the call request message including an authentication token shared between the caller and the call recipient, and an identifier; authenticating the caller using the authentication token; saving an authorized caller record in an authorized caller list on the computing device, the authorized caller record including the identifier; receiving an incoming telephone call from the caller, the incoming call including a caller ID identifier; determining that the caller ID identifier matches the identifier in the authorized caller record; and initiating completion of the call based on the determining that the caller ID identifier matches the identifier in the authorized caller record.

An approach is provided that hides a caller's telephone number and instead displays a user friendly string that acts as an alias for the caller's identity. The approach receives, from a caller using a calling device, an incoming call at a receiving device that is the information handling system such as a smart phone. The incoming call includes a set of textual metadata that includes an alias corresponding to caller as well as the caller's telephone number that corresponds to the calling device. The approach then displays, on a display screen accessible from the receiving device, the alias while inhibiting display of the caller telephone number, thus keeping the caller's actual telephone number hidden from the user of the receiving device.

In accordance with some embodiments, an electronic device is described. The electronic device displays missed telephone call information including a list of user selectable items, wherein a respective user selectable item corresponds to a plurality of missed telephone calls from a respective caller, the plurality of missed telephone calls include missed telephone calls from at least two different telephone numbers associated with the respective caller.

The disclosed system enables the display of enhanced user profile information on a terminating handset of a call recipient. A caller initially submits enhanced user profile information to a telecommunications service provider, such as the caller's name, company name, physical address, e-mail address, and photograph. When the caller places a phone call, the enhanced user profile information is displayed on a terminating handset of the call recipient. The enhanced user profile information may be transmitted directly to the call recipient or may be retrieved by a network associated with the called party. The disclosed system provides management options for both the caller and the call recipient. For example, the call recipient may specify a preference to automatically save the enhanced user profile information on the terminating handset, or the caller may specify a preference to disable or enable the display of enhanced user profile information on the terminating handset.
