Sensing and notifying device for elevator emergencies
A detection system is provided. The detection system includes a sensing device and a controller. The sensing device is within an elevator and in communication with the controller. The sensing device continuously monitors sound waves within the elevator and communicates the sound waves as electrical signals to the controller. The controller operates the elevator and analyses the sound waves received as the electrical signals from the sensing device to detect an emergency condition within the elevator.

Automated area denial system
A system and method for automatically screening anyone arriving to a facility outside of predetermined entry and exit times is provided. The automated screening system denies entry and detains anyone determined to be a threat. An operator may then take the person denied entry into custody or manually override the system to allow the person access to the facility.

Method and system for monitoring an alarm system
The problem of the vulnerability of an alarm system when its communication with an alarm central is lost or nonexistent is solved by maintaining a monitoring channel with the alarm system. A server establishes and maintains the communication channel with the alarm system via an interface module connected to the alarm system, and if the alarm system is unable to communicate with an alarm central receiver, or if the first communication channel is closed, then the server connects to one or both of the alarm central receiver and a user's phone, so as to communicate a message thereto indicative of a breach or failure of the alarm system. The alarm system is connected to the alarm central through the monitoring server which then acts as a gateway.

System and method for controlling equipment installed within a building upon receiving disaster notification
An equipment control system includes a disaster notification apparatus configured to transmit a disaster notification, and a wireless communication apparatus provided in a building. The wireless communication apparatus receives the disaster notification, and determines whether a user of a portable terminal is present in the building, based on a communication situation between the wireless communication apparatus and one or more portable terminals. Upon receiving the disaster notification, the wireless communication apparatus controls one or more pieces of equipment installed within the building, differently depending on whether the user of the portable terminal is present in the building.
System and method of monitoring an offender, defendant, or potential victim using multi-factor location verification
A method and system for monitoring an offender or defendant or potential victim utilizing multi-factor location verification. In one embodiment, the multi-factor location verification method and system utilizes GPS location data and WiFi router location data, transmitted on predetermined intervals by a wearable device and a smart phone, to determine whether the wearable device and smart phone are within a predetermined geolocation. If it is determined in subsequent transmissions of location data that not all location data is within the predetermined geolocation, an alert is sent out indicating that an offender or defendant or potential victim is no longer located within the predetermined geolocation.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR HANDOVER OF AN EMERGENCY CALL BETWEEN DIFFERENT WIRELESS NETWORKS
A method is provided to enable handoff of an emergency services call between different network operators. A UE may establish a first call with a first network for a first network operator based on a first wireless access type, where the first call is an emergency services call to a PSAP. The UE may then determine impaired wireless coverage for the first wireless access type and unimpaired wireless coverage for a second wireless access type for a second network, where the second network is for a second network operator different to the first network operator. The UE may then establish a second call with the second network based on the second wireless access type, where the second call is a continuation of the first call to the PSAP. In embodiments, the first wireless access type is WiFi and the second wireless access type is cellular.
