ON-DEVICE ATTRIBUTION OF NETWORK DATA USAGE

Embodiments attribute network data transfers to applications executing on a computing device. A data transfer service executes on the computing device to receive and process data transfer requests. The data transfer requests, populated by the applications, have identifiers attributed thereto to enable monitoring of the network data transfers per identifier. For example, network data transfers associated with different mail accounts of a mail program or different web sites of browser are attributed separately. Data usage statistics relating to the network data transfers for each identifier may be generated and presented to the user for review.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM, BASE STATION, MOBILE STATION, AND PROCESSING METHOD

A communication system includes: a first communication apparatus configured to control a first wireless communication and a second wireless communication different from the first wireless communication; a second communication apparatus configured to communicate using the second communication; and a third communication apparatus configured to perform data communication with the first communication apparatus via the first wireless communication or the second wireless communication, wherein the third communication apparatus transmits to the first communication apparatus a control message that includes an available address of the third wireless communications apparatus used in the second wireless communication, the first communication apparatus notifies the second communication apparatus of the available address of the third communication apparatus, and the second communication apparatus communicate with the third communication apparatus using the address.

DYNAMICALLY-ASSIGNED RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN A SHARED POOL OF CONFIGURABLE COMPUTING RESOURCES
20190229936 · 2019-07-25 ·

Disclosed aspects manage a shared pool of configurable computing resources. A resource demand value is identified for a target host. Resource supply values of dynamically-assigned resources are computed for donor hosts. Using the resource demand value and the resource supply values, dynamically-assigned resources are reclaimed from the donor hosts and distributed to the target host.

ACR buffering in the cloud
10362176 · 2019-07-23 · ·

A network element of an Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem buffers network resource usage information in the cloud. After generating network resource usage information based on an observation of network resource usage, the network element transmits the network resource usage information to a cloud-based storage service for buffering. Once a network resource usage collection function is available, the network element retrieves the network resource usage information from the cloud-based storage service and transmits it to a charging collection function for generation of call detail records.

Fraud detection in interactive voice response systems

Systems and methods for call detail record (CDR) analysis to determine a risk score for a call and identify fraudulent activity and for fraud detection in Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems. An example method may store information extracted from received calls. Queries of the stored information may be performed to select data using keys, wherein each key relates to one of the received calls, and wherein the queries are parallelized. The selected data may be transformed into feature vectors, wherein each feature vector relates to one of the received calls and includes a velocity feature and at least one of a behavior feature or a reputation feature. A risk score for the call may be generated during the call based on the feature vectors.

Multi-channel communication system

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for receiving from a first system information comprising a message and an identifier of a user, selecting a channel from a plurality of different third party communication channels for sending the message based on one or more properties of communications on the channel, determining a channel-specific user identifier for the selected channel based on the identifier of the user, creating a channel-specific message formatted for the selected channel based on the message, and sending the message to the user on the selected channel using the channel-specific user identifier.

Communicating mobility events in an IMS network environment
10356601 · 2019-07-16 · ·

A system for communicating to an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network mobility events occurring in a telecommunications access network. A mobile device connects to a first base station and registers on an IMS network. A component in the IMS network, such as a telephone application server (TAS), stores the first identifier. In addition, the TAS creates or modifies a call detail record (CDR) to indicate that the mobile phone is connected to the base station. After a handover occurs from the first base station to a second base station, the mobile device transmits to the IMS network a second identifier that identifies the second base station. The mobile device transmits the identifier of the second base station to the TAS within the IMS network via an XCAP PUT or POST request. After receiving the second identifier, the TAS stores the identifier and modifies a CDR to reflect the identifier.

PROACTIVELY ADJUSTING NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE IN RESPONSE TO REPORTING OF REAL-TIME NETWORK PERFORMANCE

In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for proactively adjusting the infrastructure of a communications network in response to reporting of real-time network performance. For instance, in one example, a method includes obtaining real-time network performance metrics directly from a user endpoint device operated by a customer of a telecommunication service provider network, correlating the real-time network performance metrics with data from another data source, wherein the data includes data other than network performance metrics, and adjusting an infrastructure of the telecommunication service provider network in response to an insight gleaned through the correlating.
