Telephony application server charging for evolved packet system fallback

A server of a fifth generation (5G) network can provide substantially real-time charges for a UE during fallback to another network. A Telephony Application Server (TAS) in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) can identify Evolved Packet System Fallback (EPSFB) and report the EPSFB to a charging system to cause the charging system to generate accurate charges for user equipment communicating over the 5G network and the other network. The TAS can comprise logic to identify a change in P-Access-Network-Information associated with each network, and generate a call detail records for billing, or real-time communication via an online charging and/or offline charging for the served UE. Information (a user profile, call detail records, instance of EPSFB, etc.) associated with the TAS can be used to make network improvements that decrease instances of EPSFB and increase an amount of new radio services available to UEs.

A first charging data record (CDR) generating node can receive charging server information and available CDR storage information from a second CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can detect that the charging server is unavailable to receive CDRs from the first CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can also determine that a CDR storage area corresponding to the first CDR generating node should not be used to store additional CDRs. The first CDR generating node can also select the second CDR generating node for storing the additional CDRs that are generated by the first CDR generating node. The second CDR generating node can be selected based at least in part on the charging server information and the available CDR storage information. The first CDR generating node can cause at least one CDR to be sent to the second CDR generating node.

The present disclosure relates to the field of communication technologies. In one example charging method, a gateway manages, by using customer as a granularity, charging information of a plurality of devices of a customer that are currently connected to the gateway, and establishes one customer-level charging session or customer level Charging Data Record (CDR) for each customer.

EVOLVED PACKET CORE TO 5G CORE ROAMING USING N9 INTERFACE

A system is provided for supporting roaming between LTE EPC network and 5G network of a first mobile network operator by 5GC network of a second network operator. The system may include the EPC network including a serving gateway in communication with a 4G base station being in the EPC network. The system may also include the 5G network of the first mobile network operator including a vSMF in communication with a 5G base station being in the 5G network of the first network operator. The system may also include the 5GC network of the second network operator including a hSMF. The vSMF is configured to receive a communication from the serving gateway to anchor mobility between the LTE EPC network and the 5G network of the first mobile network operator, and to communicate with the hSMF in the 5GC network of the second network operator using 5G roaming interfaces.

Sessionization of network flows in a wireless communication network

Systems and methods discussed herein are directed to combining multiple network flows with respect to usage of applications into sessions. A record of a plurality of network flows may be obtained where the record relates to usage of the application by a user device in a wireless communication network. The plurality of network flows may be combined into a session, where an earliest start time of a network flow represents a session start time for the session and a latest end time of a network flow represents a session end time for the session. Based at least in part on the session start time and the session end time, a usage of the application during the session by the user device may be determined. Based at least in part on a plurality of sessions, usage of the application in the wireless communication network may be estimated.

USER INTERFACE WITH INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS HAVING DYNAMICALLY DETERMINED FUNCTIONALITY

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a method of displaying a user interface on a mobile device, comprising: receiving a transaction file; performing text recognition on the transaction file to extract one or more transaction elements; determining a transaction characteristic based on the one or more transaction elements; displaying a transaction characteristic user interface element within an interactive cell displayed in the user interface; receiving a user touch gesture associated with the interactive cell via the user interface; and displaying an action user interface element in response to receiving the user touch gesture, wherein the action user interface element is configured to perform an action based on the transaction characteristic associated with the interactive cell.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GRANULAR CHARGING IN MOBILE WIRELESS NETWORKS

A charging function device may include a processor configured to obtain subscription information associated with a user equipment (UE) device in a wireless communication network. The processor may be further configured to receive, from a gateway device, data flow information relating to data flows associated with the UE device; receive, from a policy device, policy information relating to policies applied to the data flows associated with the UE device; generate a record for the UE device based on the received data flow information and the received policy information, wherein the record identifies at least one account charge based on a particular data flow associated with the UE device; and provide the generated charging record to an account system.

Radio access technology (RAT) type usage differentiation for differential charging in 5G non-standalone (5G NSA) architecture deployments

A control plane function node may be used in a Fifth Generation (5G) Non-Standalone (NSA) architecture having Radio Access Network (RAN) level interworking between a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) RAN and a 5G New Radio (NR). The node obtains usage report data which are based on traffic of a user equipment (UE) via primary and secondary Radio Access Technologies (RATs). The node also obtains secondary RAT usage report data which are based on traffic of the UE via the secondary RAT. The node constructs a message which indicates a request for charging based on the usage report data and the secondary RAT usage report data. In constructing the message, the node populates, in association with a corresponding rating group and usage data of the UE, an identifier of a flow or bearer associated with secondary RAT usage, together with the secondary RAT usage report data.
