Systems and methods for granular charging in mobile wireless networks
A charging function device may include a processor configured to obtain subscription information associated with a user equipment (UE) device in a wireless communication network. The processor may be further configured to receive, from a gateway device, data flow information relating to data flows associated with the UE device; receive, from a policy device, policy information relating to policies applied to the data flows associated with the UE device; generate a record for the UE device based on the received data flow information and the received policy information, wherein the record identifies at least one account charge based on a particular data flow associated with the UE device; and provide the generated charging record to an account system.
APPARATUS, METHODS, AND ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE FOR FILTERING CALLS AND REDUCING SPOOFING AND SPAMMING
Unsolicited electronic communications such as robocalls and person-initiated solicitation calls are reduced by imposing tolls for completion of the connections to the called parties, and refunding the tolls to the entities indicated by the electronic communications as the calling parties. In this way, a dishonest originator of a spoofed call bears the cost of the toll, and the toll is not refunded to the dishonest originator. On the other hand, the toll collected from an honest originator of a non-spoofed call is refunded to the honest originator, making the toll transparent to the honest originator and avoiding annoyance of the honest caller caused by the toll. Unsolicited calls may be subjected to filtering, particularly filtering based on the indications of the origins of the calls.
Distributed ledger system for management and tracking of exchanges of wireless services between wireless service providers
The present disclosure is directed to using distributed ledger architectures to for exchange of wireless communication services. In one example, a distributed ledger system for facilitating an exchange among wireless service providers includes a plurality of wireless service providers and a plurality of nodes. Each of the plurality of nodes is configured to facilitate an exchange between a first wireless service provider and a second wireless service provider for roaming services; generate a recording of terms and conditions of the exchange between the first wireless service provider and the second wireless service provider to yield an agreement; record the agreement on the distributed ledger system; facilitate independent evaluation of performance parameters of the exchange by each of the first wireless service provider and the second wireless service provider to independently evaluate performance parameters of the exchange; and trigger settlement for the exchange based on the independent evaluation of the performance parameters by the first and second wireless service providers.
Systems and methods for selective provisioning of a charging function in a wireless network
A system described herein may provide for the selection of a charging function (“CHF”) associated with a particular user equipment (“UE”). A particular CHF may be selected, from a group of candidate CHFs, based on CHF selection criteria respectively associated with the candidate CHFs and attribute information associated with the UE. The attribute information may describe attributes of the UE, profile information associated with the UE, and/or attributes of traffic and/or bearers associated with the UE.
Distributed ledger system for management and implementation of exchanges of wireless services between wireless service providers
The present disclosure is directed to using distributed ledger architectures. In one example, a distributed ledger system includes a first wireless provider and a second wireless provider configured to provide wireless services to one or more of end users of the first wireless provider to roam on; and a plurality of nodes associated with one or more of the wireless providers. Each of the plurality of nodes is configured to access a digital record of an exchange of wireless services between the first wireless provider and the second wireless provider; enable roaming of the one or more of the end users on the second wireless provider upon detecting a first triggering condition; monitor usage of the wireless services; verify the roaming based on the monitoring of the wireless services; and terminate the roaming of the one or more of the end users upon detecting a second triggering condition.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FILTERING ELECTRONIC ACTIVITIES BY PARSING CURRENT AND HISTORICAL ELECTRONIC ACTIVITIES
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for filtering electronic activities. The method includes identifying an electronic activity. The method includes parsing the electronic activity to identify one or more electronic accounts in the electronic activity. The method includes determining, responsive to parsing the electronic activity, that the electronic activity is associated with an electronic account of the one or more electronic accounts. The method includes selecting, based on the electronic account, one or more filtering policies associated with the data source provider to apply to the electronic activity. The method includes determining, by applying the selected one or more filtering policies to the electronic activity, to restrict the electronic activity from further processing based on the electronic activity satisfying at least one of the selected one or more filtering policies. The method includes restricting, the electronic activity from further processing.
Apparatus and method for background data transfer
An exposure node (50) receives a first request for resource management for future background data transfer between an application service provider and a plurality of radio terminals (10) from a server (60) associated with the application service provider and send a second request to a policy control node (40) in response to receiving the first request. The first request includes a parameter indicating whether background data transfer not complying with a previously agreed or negotiated transfer policy should be stopped, or whether the background data transfer should continue under a charging rule different from a previously agreed charging rule. The second request includes the parameter obtained from the first request. This enables the application service provider to negotiate with the radio communication network about handling of background data transfer not complying with a previously agreed transfer policy.
ENABLING PERMISSIONLESS CELLULAR ROAMING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN USER EQUIPMENT AND RADIO ACCESS NETWORKS
A radio access network (“RAN”) includes a transceiver for receiving a request from user equipment (“UE”) to join the RAN. The RAN also includes a processor that is configured for: responding to the UE request by sending a message directly from the RAN to the UE to offer a set of first terms for the UE to use a cellular network of the RAN; receiving a response from the UE agreeing to the set of first terms; and in response to the UE agreeing to the set of first terms, connecting the UE to use a cellular network of the RAN.
Cross network authentication method and system
The described embodiments concern one or more methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer readable mediums storing processor-executable process steps to authenticate mobile subscribers for using a foreign application when they are outside of their home telecom carrier's mobile network zone (“foreign zone”). A mobile subscriber can be authenticated through data roaming service, voice roaming service, and/or WiFi service. After cross network authentication, a mobile subscriber can use the foreign application to provide the same or similar services in a foreign zone, such as foreign country, through the home services in connection with the subscriber's home telecom carrier in a similar manner like he/she can use in his/her home zone, such as home country.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING NEW RECORD OBJECTS BASED ON ELECTRONIC ACTIVITIES
Methods, systems, and storage media for generating new record objects based on electronic activities are disclosed. Example implementations may: access a plurality of electronic activities; access a plurality of record objects; parse an electronic activity of the plurality of electronic activities; determine, responsive to parsing the electronic activity, that the electronic activity is to be matched to one or more record objects; determine for each candidate record object that a match score indicating a likelihood of electronic activity being matched to the candidate record object is below a threshold; determine an object type of a new record object to generate based on one or more participants of the electronic activity; generate the new record object of the determined type; and store in a data structure an association between the new record object and the electronic activity.
