Methods and systems for provisioning rate plan features in a wireless communication network
A computer-implemented method for provisioning a feature associated with a brand of a wireless communication network may include loading a trigger condition in a catalog for triggering the feature, wherein an in-memory cache of the catalog is accessible by a network provisioning engine of the wireless communication network. At the network provisioning engine, the method may further include receiving, from a billing system computer, a transaction request for a subscriber having a rate plan associated with the brand, using a brand indication in the transaction request to locate the in-memory cache of the catalog, and determining whether the transaction request meets the trigger condition. If the transaction request meets the trigger condition, the method may further include determining a network node for provisioning the feature, and sending instructions to the network node to provision the feature in the subscriber's rate plan.
Method and Apparatus for Dynamic Realtime Sharing of Credit Units for Online Charging
Dynamic adjustment of consumption limits governing the consumption of credit units from a “provider account” (24) offers numerous advantages in the context of Online Charging (OC), both to the involved communication network operator(s) and to the users or applications associated with the UEs (12) that use communication services subject to credit availability in the provider account (24). Specifically, two or more “consumer” accounts (26), each associated with one or more UEs (12), consume credit units from the provider account (24), for authorizing communication-usage by the associated UE(s) (12), subject to a respective consumption limit, which may be regarded as defining an allocated share of the credit units in the provider account (24), for use by the consumer account (26). Adjusting the consumption limits one or more times during the validity period of the credit units offers the opportunity to rebalance the credit allocations, such as in view of aggregate rates or amounts of consumption or consumption imbalances.
MANAGING A CHARGING OPERATION IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
A method for managing a charging operation in a communication network is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a content specification identifying content, vendors and a condition relating to charging the vendors for provision of the content to a UE. The method further comprises creating a charging policy for provision of the content, which specifies division of charging for provision of the content to a UE between the vendors in accordance with the condition, receiving, from a UE, a request for provision of content over the network and retrieving a charging policy corresponding to the requested content. The method further comprises creating a charging entry for provision of the requested content, the charging entry dividing charging for provision of the requested content between vendors identified in the retrieved charging policy and a subscriber account associated with the UE in accordance with the retrieved policy.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING ROAMING SERVICE BY USING BLOCKCHAIN AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
The present disclosure in some embodiments relates to a method and an apparatus for providing a roaming service, which more efficiently processes internetwork roaming services and settlements between different mobile communication network operators by using a blockchain and a smart contract.
Data set valuation for service providers
Data set valuation techniques are provided. For example, a request is obtained from a client to utilize one or more cloud computing services managed by at least one service provider. A valuation is determined for delivering the one or more requested cloud computing services to the client. The valuation determination includes determining a valuation of one or more data sets associated with the one or more cloud computing services.
System and Method of Automated Customizable Portal Creation
A system is provided enabling creation of a portal to telecommunications services managed by an enterprise user on behalf of accountholders of the enterprise. The system includes a first layer providing access to at least a business support system, an operational support system, a provisioning system, a home location register, and a billing system. The system also includes a second layer providing access to a wizard interface programmed for: creating a portal by the enterprise user with an application enabled to selectively access and/or modify data and settings accessible through a security layer from the first layer; and publishing the portal. The system also includes a third layer providing access to the portal by an accountholder of the enterprise after publishing. The application is: a glanceable application showing the data or settings in a summary visual fashion; or a full application showing the data or settings in a detailed fashion.
Customer profile and billing lifecycle management in connected endpoints in wireless communication networks
Systems and methods discussed herein are directed to managing customer Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and embedded SIM (eSIM) profiles and allocated Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Numbers (MSISDN) for connected devices, e.g., cars, in different use-cases. For example, in configurations, users may have a primary electronic device, e.g., a mobile phone having a primary MSISDN.sub.PRIMARY that is instantiated on a primary Integrated Circuit Card Identifier (ICCID), ICCID.sub.PRIMARY in the billing system of a wireless communication network. When the user has a secondary device paired with the mobile phone, that secondary device may have a secondary MSISDN.sub.SECONDARY that is activated with a secondary ICCID.sub.SECONDARY in the billing system. Thus, the secondary device may be used by the user in conjunction with the primary device and is paired with the primary device such that incoming calls are forked to both the primary device and the secondary device.
Over the air provisioning of mobile device settings
A mobile device has a display, a memory, at least one processor, and executable instructions stored in the memory. The executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, (i) cause the mobile device to communicate over a cellular network with one or more remote servers to receive mobile network carrier option data for the mobile device, wherein the one or more remote servers are operated by an entity that is not a mobile network carrier identified by the mobile network carrier option data, (ii) display on the display, based on the received mobile network carrier option data, a user interface presenting a plurality of mobile network carriers, and (iii) in response to a selection, by a user of the mobile device from the user interface, of one of the plurality of mobile network carriers, cause the mobile device to be activated for use with the selected one of the plurality of mobile network carriers and enable access by the mobile device of wireless communication services provided by the selected one of the plurality of mobile network carriers for a service plan offered by the selected one of the plurality of mobile network carriers.
Determining a Time to Permit a Communications Session to Be Conducted
A process and apparatus to facilitate communication between callers and callees in a system comprising a plurality of nodes with which callers and callees are associated is disclosed. In response to initiation of a call by a calling subscriber, a caller identifier and a callee identifier are received. Call classification criteria associated with the caller identifier are used to classify the call as a public network call or a private network call. A routing message identifying an address, on the private network, associated with the callee is produced when the call is classified as a private network call and a routing message identifying a gateway to the public network is produced when the call is classified as a public network call.
Secondary internet access for mobile devices
In an approach for a secondary mobile internet access, a processor receives a request from a mobile device for a connection to a secondary wireless access point. A processor authorizes the connection request. A processor determines bandwidth associated with the mobile device. A processor adjusts bandwidth associated with the secondary wireless access point to include at least a sum of original bandwidth of the secondary wireless access point and the bandwidth associated with the mobile device to accommodate usage by the mobile device. A processor assigns temporary bandwidth to the mobile device based on the bandwidth associated with the mobile device. A processor executes a timer to a session associated with the authorized connection for the mobile device. A processor restores the original bandwidth of the secondary wireless access point upon detecting an end of the session.
