System and method for monitoring communications in a network
Methods and systems are described for monitoring communications in a packet-switched network. More specifically, the system initiates a communication between a network endpoint associated with a call mediator and at least a second network endpoint; records, at the call mediator, information associated with the communication; and upon termination of the communication, communicates, from the call mediator to an enterprise gatekeeper, the information associated with the communication.
Policy and billing services in a cloud-based access solution for enterprise deployments
Systems and methods for providing mobile services are disclosed. In one implementation, an access point (AP) is provided, which may include a set of one or more base-station functions for use by a user equipment (UE) connected to the AR over a wireless communication interface. The one or more base-station functions may be configured to receive information from the UE. The AP may further include a set of one or more core-network functions configured to receive the information from the set of one or more base-station functions and a distributed portion of a service. The distributed portion of the service may be configured to receive the information from the one or more core-network functions and communicate the information to a corresponding cloud portion of the service running on a cloud platform. The service may be provided by a combination of the distributed portion and the cloud portion of the service. The distributed portion of the service may be further configured to receive a response from the cloud portion of the service based on processing performed by the cloud portion on the cloud platform.
Hybrid network based metering server and tracking client for wireless services
A process of tracking usage of a wireless device in a third party wireless network with a metering system includes implementing the metering system in a network separate from the third party wireless network and activating the wireless device in response to identification of the wireless device and confirmation of use of a tracking system to the metering system. The process further includes obtaining, by the metering system, an amount of wireless services used by the wireless device. The obtaining includes at least one of obtaining an amount of wireless services used from the third party wireless network and obtaining an amount of wireless services used from the tracking system.
System and method for rating an IP-based wireless telecommunications based on access point
A subscriber communicates over an IP-based wireless telecommunications network through an access point. Identifiers associated with the access point (e.g., MAC address IP address, FQDN . . . ) are stored in a database. Each access point is mapped into one or more service zones, where service zones are mapped to service types. The subscriber has a rate plan that is based on a selection of one or more service types. When a wireless connection between the subscriber and the IP-based wireless telecommunications network is established, the access point identifiers are used to retrieve a service zone ID from the database. Upon completion of the communication, a call detail record can be generated that includes the service zone ID for the communication. The billing system can then retrieve billing plan information to determine an appropriate rate for the subscriber based on the service zone ID.
Methods Circuits Devices Systems and Functionally Associated Computer Executable Code to Support Edge Computing on a Communication Network
The present application discloses methods, circuits, devices, systems and functionally associated computer executable code to support edge computing on a communication network, such as a wireless access communication network. There are disclosed a data network architectures including: (a) at least one network core with one or more network elements to perform each of one or more network management functionalities; and (b) at least one network edge segment or zone including one or more access nodes, edge computing resources and a secure link gateway to convey to the core network elements information about data services by the edge computing resources to connected client devices.
Methods, Systems, And Computer Program Products For Communicating Data Selectively Via Heterogeneous Communication Network Links
Methods and systems are described for communicating data selectively via heterogeneous communication network links. In one aspect respective data costs are determined associated with communicated data via a plurality of heterogeneous network links each linking to one or more networks. One or more network links to communicate data between a remote network node and a remote user device is selected from among the plurality of heterogeneous network links based on the determined respective data costs. Communicating the data via the selected link is provided for. In another aspect, link selection information based on respective data costs is received via a network. One or more network links is selected from among the plurality of heterogeneous network links based on the received link selection information. The data is communicated via the selected link.
Method and system for data flow management of user equipment in a tunneling packet data network
A data replication system of a communication network is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the data replication system includes a replication gateway node and a replication control system. The replication gateway node is configured to create a first replication tunnel between a first gateway node and the replication gateway node and a second replication tunnel between the replication gateway node and a second gateway node. The replication gateway node replicates data streams between the first gateway node and the second gateway and delivers the replicated data stream to a management node for further analysis.
Method for Changing Inter-PLMN Roaming Data Service Online, and Device
A method for charging an inter-Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) roaming data service online, and a device are presented. The method includes, after determining that an access subscriber is a roaming subscriber, establishing, by a visited-place packet data network gateway, an online charging session for the access subscriber; determining a first charging information parameter list; sending, to a home online charging system, a first quota request message that carries a rating group; receiving a roaming data service quota of the rating group sent by the home online charging system; and sending first charging information to the home online charging system according to the first charging information parameter list. The disclosed embodiments can simplify a network connection between a visited-place PGW and an OCS of another operator that has a roaming agreement with the visited-place operator, reduce network connection complexity, and improve network connection efficiency.
