MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS WITH QUALITY OF SERVICE
A mobile communications system includes switching between communication paths based on the quality of service. A VoIP service is coupled to a mobile network and a wireless local-area network (WLAN) via a wide-area IP network. A plurality of mobile communications devices are associated with VoIP telephone numbers. A public switched telephone network (PSTN) is coupled to the plurality of mobile communications devices and coupled to the VoIP service. A quality of service server is coupled to the plurality of mobile communications devices via the wide-area IP network for determining the quality of data channels to a mobile communications device via the mobile network and to the mobile communications device via the WLAN. A voice call is carried over one of the mobile network, the WLAN, and the PSTN depending on the quality of the data channels.
MULTIPLE USAGE RATES
An example communications system for providing communication services between communications devices may employ multiple usage rates for metered communication services. A method for adjusting usage amounts to account for multiple usage rates may include determining a usage adjustment factor for a communications event; determining a metered usage amount for the communications event; and determining an adjusted usage amount based on the usage adjustment factor and the metered usage amount for the communications amount. Thus, a billing system in the communications system may determine an invoice amount based on the adjusted usage amount and a predetermined bill rate.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND USE OF SOFTWARE-DEFINED VIRTUAL MULTI-SERVICE TUNNEL NETWORKING
Systems, methods and uses for the automation of the deployment and management of autonomous information networks on existing physical communication networks and the transportation of data packets, pertaining to one or more computer applications, among devices attached to each such autonomous network, with enhanced performance, reliability, security, and other data transport quality measures, using one or more dynamic logical tunnels configured and managed by the present systems and methods.
Apparatuses, methods and systems for implementing a system-on-chip with integrated reprogrammable cellular network connectivity
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are provided for configuring a “SIM-less” System-on-Chip (S2oC) with integrated reprogrammable cellular network connectivity. Digitally issued Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards may be digitally issued by a remote server and downloaded and managed by the S2oC. A virtual SIM card container may be packaged in the S2oC and hosts an identity manager used by a plurality of applications residing in the multi-core processor of the S2oC. A virtual modem with a custom communication protocol allows the multi-core processor applications to exchange data with the virtual SIM card container.
User terminal device for providing call control and control method therefor
Disclosed are a user terminal device for providing a call control and a control method therefor. A user terminal device according to the present invention comprises: a display; a first communication unit for communication with a first external device; a second communication unit for communication with a second external device; and a processor for: transmitting a call request received from the first external device to the second external device through the second communication unit; transmitting a response to the call request, which has been received from the second external device, to the first external device through the first communication unit; controlling the display to display a call user interface (UI), on the basis of the response to the call request; and when call data is received from the first external device, converting the call data into Internet protocol (IP) data and transmitting the converted IP data to the second external device through the second communication unit. Accordingly, the user terminal device can retransmit a cellular network-based call received thereby to an external device connected to the Internet with the same VoIP account as that of the user terminal device, and make a phone call, so as to reduce a call charge.

Video call flash payment
Various aspects of the subject technology relate to completing a payment over a video call. A method includes initiating, a video call between a user and a vendor, the user and the vendor having a scheduled appointment comprising a specified duration of time. The method also includes directing the user to the video call through video call software. The method also includes receiving, from the video call software, a notification that the video call ended, the notification comprising video call metadata. The method also includes calculating, through an online marketplace, a total cost of the scheduled appointment based at least on the video call metadata and marketplace data. The method also includes generating, through the online marketplace, an invoice based on the total cost. The method also includes receiving payment information from the user regarding the invoice. According to aspects, the method includes a flash-to-pay option for payment.
TRIGGER MANAGEMENT FOR ROAMING CALLS IN IMS NETWORKS
An IP Multimedia Subsystem Service Control Point (IMS-SCP) module of a carrier network may provide trigger management for a request for a circuit switched (CS) call. For example, an IMS-SCP module may receive an request for a CS call associated with a user equipment. The IMS-SCP module may determine handling of the request for the CS call includes one or more first operations by a first feature platform and one or more second operations by a second feature platform. In response to the determining, the IMS-SCP module may perform trigger management associated with the request for the CS call. The trigger management may include invoking, by the IMS-SCP module, the one or more first operations of the first feature platform and, subsequent to the invoking the one or more first operations, invoking the one or more second operations of the second feature platform.
INMATE DEVICE AND USER INTERFACE FOR INMATE INITIATED VIDEO VISITATION SYSTEM
A secured party audio and audio/video communication system and method providing administration, management and control that includes a portable secured communication device in possession solely of a secured party positioned in a secured environment, the portable secured communication device being exclusive to the secured party and communicatively connectable only to a secured connection management system, in a secured connection management system hosting a secured communication device interface, hosting a remote communication device interface, storing in the database information related to the secured party, the portable secured communication system, and the external party, at least one of which includes a predetermined connection parameter, creating the selective communication between the portable secured communication device and only the remote communication device response to the stored database information and controlling a duration of the communication as a function of the predetermined connection parameter as stored in the database.
System and method for real time fraud analysis of communications data
A telecommunications service provider's real time analysis system analyzes communications data to detect potentially fraudulent communications data, where the analysis is performed in real time in the routing path of the communications data. The communications data may include calls (e.g., SS7, VoIP, etc. based calls) and messages (e.g., SMS, MMS, etc.). The real time analysis system rejects potentially fraudulent communications data and non-fraudulent communications data in order to be used in real time in the routing path of the communications data. A rejection by the real time analysis system may cause non-fraudulent communications data to still be sent to the intended destination of the communications data. The real time analysis system can be in the routing path of the communications data without further routing non-fraudulent communications data traffic to the next appropriate hop in the routing path.
