Disclosed is a method performed by an IP Multimedia System, IMS (140), of a communication network. The method comprises receiving information of a call initiation or a call reception by a wireless communication device (110), the information comprising an ID indicative of a subscriber of the wireless communication device (110). The method further comprises sending information of the initiated or received call to an online charging system, OCS (150), the information comprising the ID indicative of the subscriber of the wireless communication device (110), receiving, from the OCS (150) and in response to the sending, a pointer referring to a notification picture, and sending the pointer to the wireless communication device (110). Hereby it is possible for an operator to send notification pictures to its subscribers. Disclosed are also methods performed by the OCS (150) and the wireless communication device (110).
System and method for 5G service icon display and quality of service enforcement
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a mapping table is transmitted to a user device. The mapping table includes, for each entry, an index, a frequency band, and wireless services available on the frequency band. Index information corresponding to a frequency band and wireless service available in a location associated with the user device is communicated to the user device. An icon associated with the wireless service is displayed on a display of the user device. A network device determines that the user device is using the wireless service to communicate via a wireless network and transmits, to a core network, an indication that the user device is using the wireless service on the frequency band.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISTRIBUTING CONTENT VIA A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including detecting, by a processing system comprising a processor, wireless communication servers that are available for providing content via first wireless communication links to a wireless communication system, receiving unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers, aggregating comprising a processor, the unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers to identify broadband bandwidth, receiving, by the processing system, a request for first content from a customer premises device, assigning a first portion of the broadband bandwidth for receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, requesting the first content from the wireless communication servers according to the assigning, receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, and transmitting the first content to the customer premises device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Interim billing for sessions in IMS networks
Charging systems and associated methods are disclosed that provide interim billing for a session in an IMS network. The charging system includes a charging data system that receives accounting messages from network elements serving the session in the IMS network, and generates partial CDRs for each network element based on the accounting messages. The charging data system also sets an aggregation/correlation timer. Responsive to an expiration of the aggregation/correlation timer, the charging data system aggregates the partial CDRs for each network element to generate an aggregated CDR for each network element. The charging system further includes a charging gateway system that, in further response to the expiration of the aggregation/correlation timer, correlates the aggregated CDRs to generate an interim consolidated CDR for the session, and transmits the interim consolidated CDR to a billing system. The billing system may then provide interim billing for the session based on the interim consolidated CDR.
Distributed ledger control over wireless network slices
In a wireless communication network, distributed ledger circuitry executes a contract from an origin block and transfers an instantiation request for a wireless network slice to network orchestration circuitry. The network orchestration circuitry instantiates the wireless network slice responsive to the instantiation request from the distributed ledger circuitry. The wireless network slice delivers a wireless network service to the UEs and transfers slice usage data to the distributed ledger circuitry. The distributed ledger circuitry executes the contract from middle blocks and a termination block to form a blockchain that stores the slice usage data for the wireless network slice. The distributed ledger circuitry transfers a termination request for the wireless network slice to the network orchestration circuitry responsive to the execution of the contract from the termination block. The network orchestration circuitry terminates the wireless network slice responsive to the termination request from the distributed ledger circuitry.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISTRIBUTING CONTENT VIA A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
A method includes determining a broadband bandwidth and a resource usage pattern, according to unused data capacity information that is based on monitoring data capacity retained by wireless communication servers, and assigning a first portion of the broadband bandwidth for receiving first content from the wireless communication servers. The assigning of the first portion of the broadband bandwidth causes a first mapping of the first content for delivery by a first group of the wireless communication servers according to the first portion of the broadband bandwidth. The method further includes assigning a second portion of the broadband bandwidth for receiving second content from the wireless communication servers, which causes a second mapping of the second content for delivery by a second group of the wireless communication servers according to the second portion of the broadband bandwidth, and determining a time period for receiving the second content from the second group of the wireless communication servers according to the resource usage pattern.
CALL FLOW SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE IN A LEGACY TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method of operating a network server, such as a mobile application gateway, connect devices on a cellular or carrier network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network, such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise.
Enhanced messaging as a platform
Aspects of the invention enhance the capabilities of the MaaP by adding interfaces thereto so that the platform directly interfaces with the OCS, the PCRF, the EIR, the CDB and the HSS without middle layer or without using RCS as an intermediary. Moreover, embodiments of the invention may create a user interface of the MaaP so that users may configure parameters to interact with the network nodes right from the user interface.
DATA DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
There is provided a data delivery system (10) for providing multimedia content data to users, wherein the data delivery system (10) includes a data server arrangement (120) for supplying the multimedia content data to the users, an advertisement content data server arrangement (140) for providing advertisement content data to the users, and a control centre arrangement for coordinating supply of the multimedia content data and the advertisement content data to the users. The users have spatially locally thereto computing hardware and associated display hardware for presenting the multimedia content data and the advertisement content data received at the users, wherein the computing hardware is operable to execute program instructions (50, 60) for presenting the multimedia content data and the advertisement content data received at the users. The program instructions (50, 60) are operable to cause the computing hardware to report to the advertisement content data server arrangement (140) an operating status and data processing capability of the computing hardware and associated display hardware, and the advertisement content data server arrangement (140) is operable to select advertisement data content for supplying to the users, customized for each user, depending upon the operating status and data processing capability, as well as a profitability associated with selecting the advertisement data content.
Modifying Video Call QoS Based on a Signal Quality Measurement
A wireless device determines a change in a signal quality measurement of a wireless network. In response to the determining, a first message for changing one or more media for a video call in the wireless network is transmitted from the wireless device to a video application function (AF). A policy and charging rules function (PCRF) receives from the video AF, a DIAMETER AA-request (AAR) command for modifying a quality of service (QoS) of the video call. The PCRF transmits to a policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF), a second message comprising an updated QoS, wherein the updated QoS comprises QoS data bearer modification information based on the change in the signal quality measurement of the wireless network. The PCEF implements the updated QoS for the video call.
