Method and apparatus for distributing content via a wireless communication network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including detecting, by a processing system comprising a processor, wireless communication servers that are available for providing content via first wireless communication links to a wireless communication system, receiving unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers, aggregating comprising a processor, the unused data capacity information from the wireless communication servers to identify broadband bandwidth, receiving, by the processing system, a request for first content from a customer premises device, assigning a first portion of the broadband bandwidth for receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, requesting the first content from the wireless communication servers according to the assigning, receiving the first content from the wireless communication servers, and transmitting the first content to the customer premises device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

ONLINE CHARGING FOR MULTI-USER AGENT INSTANCES SERVED BY DIFFERENT TELEPHONY APPLICATION SERVERS
20210203517 · 2021-07-01 ·

Techniques for allowing access based online charging in cases of multiple user agents (multi-UAs) scenarios where the instances are registered to different telephony application servers (TASs) are discussed herein. For example, a user device may support a native number and multiple virtual numbers linked via a user account. When servicing a call, the user device may determine a served number to service the call from. If the served number is not the native number but a virtual number, the native-line server may handle the call session, but the online charging session will be handled by the virtual-line server. The native-line server may use session initiation protocol (SIP) information to send updated information for charging parameters to the virtual-line server, including network access transfer for accuracy in online charging logic.

Management of an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) media session for user equipment (UE)

A data communication system delivers voice-conferencing and video-conferencing to User Equipment (UE). A wireless communication network establishes a signaling bearer between the UE and an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The IMS initiates a video-conference bearer for the UE over the wireless communication network. The wireless communication network exchanges video data over the video-conference bearer using Carrier Aggregation (CA). In response to a UE handover to a target wireless access node, the wireless communication network signals the IMS to convert the video-conference bearer into a voice-conference bearer based on Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology at the target wireless access node. The IMS initiates a voice-conference bearer for the UE over the wireless communication network. The wireless communication network exchanges voice data over the voice-conference bearer. After another handover, the wireless communication network and the IMS may convert the voice-conference bearer back into a video-conference bearer.

Interface session discovery within wireless communication networks

A method for discovering an interface session within a wireless communication network is discussed herein. The method includes establishing an Internet Protocol (IP) packet-switched network registration between a first node of a plurality of nodes within the wireless communication network and a second node of the plurality of nodes. The method further includes, requesting, by a third node of the plurality of nodes from a fourth node of the plurality of nodes, service for a call of a mobile device within the wireless communication network. Based upon not having an appropriate interface session established between the first node and the fourth node, the method also includes performing, by the fourth node, an interface session discovery. Based at least in part on the interface session discovery, a dedicated bearer is established at the second node for the call.

ACR BUFFERING IN THE CLOUD
20210126953 · 2021-04-29 · ·

A network element of an Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem buffers network resource usage information in the cloud. After generating network resource usage information based on an observation of network resource usage, the network element transmits the network resource usage information to a cloud-based storage service for buffering. Once a network resource usage collection function is available, the network element retrieves the network resource usage information from the cloud-based storage service and transmits it to a charging collection function for generation of call detail records.

Adaptive quality of service for enterprise traffic

In one embodiment, an apparatus comprising networking circuitry adapted to receive, at a mobile network operated by an SP, flows associated with enterprise applications executing on device(s) in an enterprise network, the device(s) including a CPE and/or one or more devices behind the CPE, and processing circuitry adapted to vary, during a duration in which there is IP connectivity between the CPE and the mobile network, a pool of dedicated bearers for binding the flows, in response to at least part of changes occurring during the duration with respect to the flows, wherein the changes include variations during the duration in number of the flows and/or differences during the duration in detected characteristics of the flows, the detected characteristics of the flows having been detected based on inspection of respective packet(s) of the flows, and bind at least part of the flows to respective dedicated bearers included in the pool.

TRIGGER MANAGEMENT FOR ROAMING CALLS IN IMS NETWORKS

An IP Multimedia Subsystem Service Control Point (IMS-SCP) module of a carrier network may provide trigger management for a request for a circuit switched (CS) call. For example, an IMS-SCP module may receive an request for a CS call associated with a user equipment. The IMS-SCP module may determine handling of the request for the CS call includes one or more first operations by a first feature platform and one or more second operations by a second feature platform. In response to the determining, the IMS-SCP module may perform trigger management associated with the request for the CS call. The trigger management may include invoking, by the IMS-SCP module, the one or more first operations of the first feature platform and, subsequent to the invoking the one or more first operations, invoking the one or more second operations of the second feature platform.
