CHARGING METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
Embodiments of this application disclose a charging method and a related product. A charging function CHF apparatus receives a first charging request sent by a charging trigger function CTF apparatus, where the first charging request carries event charging information. Then, the CHF apparatus determines a first event charging processing mode based on the event charging information, and processes the first charging request according to the first event charging processing mode. According to the method, the CHF apparatus may determine the first event charging processing mode based on the first charging request, and perform event charging processing. Therefore, charging can be accurately and efficiently performed on an event charging service.
SUPPORT FOR ENVELOPE REPORTING
A method performed in a CP node. The method comprises setting a TQM in a URR to which its corresponding SDFs are applicable for envelope reporting, setting at least one reporting trigger in the URR, to instruct the UP function to generate a usage report upon closure of an envelope, setting a measurement method in the URR, to instruct the UP function to collect usage of volume, time and/or event, sending the set URR to the UP function, receiving one or more usage reports from the UP function, in response to the sent URR, wherein the received usage report(s) comprises at least a usage report trigger set to envelope closure, determining a starting time and/or an ending time for each envelope, based on the received usage report(s), and storing each envelope, with the determined starting time and/or ending time, for online or offline charging.
Online charging architecture in LTE/EPC communication networks
Communication networks and methods are disclosed for performing online charging in LTE/EPC communication networks. In an LTE/EPC communication network, one or more LTE network elements connect to an Online Charging System (OCS) over an enhanced interface. The LTE network element that is serving a session for a mobile device triggers on a charging event, and generates a credit request message (e.g., Diameter CCR). The LTE network element identifies access information for the session indicating the type of access for the mobile device to the LTE/EPC communication network, and inserts the access information in the credit request message. Through the enhanced interface, the LTE network element is able to transmit the credit request message to the OCS with the access information. The access information may then be used in the OCS to determine a more accurate charging rate for the session.
Method for processing information, forwarding plane device and control plane device
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for processing information, a forwarding plane device and a control plane device. The method includes: receiving a data packet, and extracting characteristic information of the data packet; searching for context information corresponding to the characteristic information of the data packet; buffering or discarding the data packet if the context information is not found; and sending an event reporting message to a gateway control plane device, wherein the event reporting message carries the characteristic information of the data packet, so that the gateway control plane device acquires the context information corresponding to the characteristic information of the data packet. In this way, the gateway forwarding plane device can acquire context information to the greatest extent under the condition that the context information is lost, thereby ensuring accurate forwarding of the data packet to the greatest extent.
Method and apparatus for online charging of pre-fetched content
In one aspect of the teachings herein, an Application Function (AF) in a wireless communication network is configured to support online charging for the consumption of content that has been pre-fetched to a wireless device via the network. The AF functionality thus provides a mechanism by which content may be pre-fetched to a wireless device in advance of charging for that content, while reliably conditioning the later consumption of that content at the wireless device on the online charging decisions made by an online charging system. In another aspect, a wireless device is configured to send a consumption request for pre-fetched content towards such an AF and condition its consumption of the pre-fetched content on the consumption response returned to it.
Method and Apparatus for Information Exchange in Online Charging
A method and an apparatus for information exchange in online charging in order to reduce frequency of information exchange between a Charging Trigger Function (CTF) device and an Online Charging System (OCS), and reduce a pressure of information transmission between the CTF device and the OCS, where the method includes receiving, by a CTF device, a credit control answer (CCA) message that carries a non-real-time Trigger and sent by an OCS, recording, by the CTF device, charging information before and after a corresponding event of the non-real-time Trigger happens each time before sending a credit control request (CCR) message to the OCS next time, and sending, by the CTF device, the CCR message to the OCS.
METHOD AND APPARATUSES FOR PERFORMING ONLINE CHARGING TO GCS-AS BASED ON RO INTERFACE
An OCS performs online charging to usage of GCS-AS service data in response to an online charging initial request; and the OCS sends a granted service unit and valid time information about a UE to the GCS-AS in response to the online charging initial request, based on an GCS-AS Ro interface. The GCS-AS sends the GCS-AS service data corresponding to the granted service unit, the valid time information, and a corresponding key to the UE. If the GCS-AS service data is based on the EPS bearer, the OCS performs online charging to usage of the GCS-AS service data based on a special rating group. If the GCS-AS service data is based on an MBMS bearer, the OCS charges a content provider for providing the GCS service data.
METHODS, POLICY NODE AND CHARGING NODE FOR ENABLING SPENDING LIMIT CONTROL
Methods, a policy node and a charging node for enabling spending limit control for a user equipment in a telecommunication network. The policy node obtains an identifier related to the user equipment, an identifier of a policy counter and a set of policy counter statuses to be monitored by the policy node. The set of policy counter statuses are related to the identifier of the policy counter. The policy node sends, a request for reporting of policy counter statuses related to the user equipment for the policy counter. The request includes the identifier related to the user equipment, the identifier of the policy counter and the set of policy counter statuses. A policy counter status of the set of policy counter statuses is determined. The policy counter status has changed as determined by the charging node. A response to the request is sent and includes the policy counter status that has changed.
METHOD FOR DELIVERING DYNAMIC POLICY RULES TO AN END USER, ACCORDING ON HIS/HER ACCOUNT BALANCE AND SERVICE SUBSCRIPTION LEVEL, IN A TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK
The method comprises the steps of: the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) receiving (Step 1) user's subscription information, in order to determine an initial policy; the Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF) applying (Step 2) the initial rules; the Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF) triggering (Step 3) the Extended Online Charging System (EOCS) for the user's service/network resource usage; the Extended Online Charging System (EOCS) rating and charging (step 4) the user, in real time; the Extended Online Charging System (EOCS) triggering (Step 5) a change of policy in the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF); the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) determining (Step 6) new rules for the new policy; the Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF) receiving (Step 7) the new rules and applying them.
Method and Apparatus for Providing a Communication Service in a Communication Network using Preallocated Usage Units
A charging trigger function (CTF 40) in a communication network (30) advantageously uses pre-allocated usage units to authorize the use of a communication service by a user, when a pre-allocated usage unit is available with respect to the involved communication service and user. A pre-allocation function (PAF 42) provides the one or more pre-allocated usage units directly to the CTF (40) or indirectly via an online charging function (OCF 44). The pre-allocated usage units are determined, for example, according to predicted usage information, user account information, and configured rules. A usage prediction function (UPF 52) in the network (30) uses user-related information, such as historical usage data or other activity by the user, to generate the predicted usage information. Among its other advantages, authorizing the use of the communication service based on pre-allocated usage units obviates or reduces the need for usage authorization signaling going between the CTF and OCF.
