SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SPLIT BILLING

A method includes generating a request at an electronic device associated with a plurality of data usage accounts. The method also includes selectively encapsulating, by the electronic device, the request to generate an encapsulated request that identifies a destination endpoint provisioned for a first data usage account of the plurality of data usage accounts. The method further includes transmitting the encapsulated request from the electronic device to a network element.

System and method for generating charging data for short message delivery

A method encoded in a memory of a specialized network node configured for allowing an SMSC to be informed of the location of the UE originating a short message via an IP-SM-GW and also of the location of the receiving UE when a short message is delivered through an IP-SM-GW. Additionally the disclosed method ensures that charging systems can correlate IP-SM-GW charging requests for a short message with any charging requests generated by the SMSC for the same message.

Misclassified contact updating in multi-number phones

An intermediate server communicatively coupled to a mobile phone associated with a first phone number corresponding to a first contact type and a second phone number corresponding to a second contact type, receives a request to receive an incoming call associated with a caller phone number. The request corresponds to the first or second phone number. The intermediate server identifies a contact type associated with the request and a contact type associated with the caller based on the caller phone number. The intermediate server further determines whether the caller is misclassified by comparing the contact type associated with the request and the contact type associated with the caller. In addition, the intermediate server sends a notification indicating that the caller is misclassified to the mobile phone in response to determining the contact type associated with the request and the contact type associated with the caller do not match.

Incoming call notification management

A mobile phone establishes and maintains a data connection with an intermediate server. The intermediate server receives an incoming call from a caller. In response, the intermediate server identifies a contact group associated with the caller, and generates a notification message identifying the caller and including the identified contact group. The notification message is sent by the intermediate server to the mobile phone via the data channel, and concurrently, the intermediate server routes the incoming call to the mobile phone over a voice channel different from the data channel. The mobile phone modifies an existing contact record or generates a new contact record associated with the caller to include the contact group identified by the notification message. The mobile phone, in response to receiving the incoming call, accesses the modified contact record or generated contact record, and displays a notification identifying the caller and the identified contact group.

EQUITABLE AND COOPERATIVE BANDWIDTH POOLING FOR A SHARED MEDIA EVENT

An approach is provided for pooling bandwidth provided by mobile devices in an ad hoc group. Based on information in data plans provided by wireless carriers to the mobile devices, amounts of data that will be unused at the end of respective billing cycles are estimated. Based on the estimated amounts, contributions of data from the mobile devices are determined. Based on capabilities of the mobile devices, time periods during which the respective mobile devices are subscripted for providing at least some of the respective contributions of data are determined. Hand-offs among the mobile devices are coordinated to provide a cooperative usage of the bandwidth among the mobile devices which minimizes redundant streaming or downloading of content to more than one of the mobile devices. The streamed or downloaded content is presented to the ad hoc group of mobile devices.

Incoming call management in a communication environment with unified communication interfaces

A computer-implemented method for managing incoming calls comprises receiving, at an intermediate server communicatively coupled to a mobile phone associated with a first phone number corresponding to a first contact group and a second phone number corresponding to a second contact group, a request to receive an incoming call associated with a caller phone number. The intermediate server identifies a contact group associated with the request. The identified contact group comprises the first contact group in response to the received request corresponding to the first phone number, and the identified contact group comprises the second contact group in response to the received request corresponding to the second phone number. The intermediate server selects a notification based on the identified contact group. The intermediate server modifies the request to receive an incoming call to include the selected notification and routes the modified request to the mobile phone.

System And Method For Adding Funds to a Prepaid Account for a Mobile Device Associated with Multiple Communication Profiles

A communication management system receives, from a local cellular network operator, a communication indicating that a payment has been made to the local cellular network operator for a mobile device using a local communication profile. The communication management system identifies, based on the local communication profile, a home communication profile of the mobile device. The home communication profile is associated with a home cellular network operator that is distinct from the local cellular network operator. The communication management system sends, to the home cellular network operator, a request to add funds to a prepaid account that is associated with the home communication profile of the mobile device.

A method for sending wireless charging related information. The method includes: sending wireless charging-related information of a terminal to a core network. The wireless charging-related information may be communicated between base stations during cell handover of the terminal from one base station to another.

Direct ledger reporting of user equipment data usage for telecommunications networks

Systems and methods for direct ledger reporting of user equipment (UE) data usage for telecommunications networks are provided. Embodiments of the present disclosure, at least in part, assess telecommunications network data usage by decentralizing the tasks of monitoring and collecting data regarding the types and quantity of data usage, delegating those tasks to data usage record synthesizers that are instantiated at, or close to, the point and/or device where the data is being consumed. In some embodiments, assessing data usage may include determining a classification of an instance of UE network data usage based on data packet traffic; determining ledger record data for inclusion in one or more fields of a ledger record based on the classification; generating a ledger record based on the one or more fields of ledger record data; and transmitting the ledger record via the telecommunications network for recording to an immutable data usage ledger.

Information processing terminal

An information processing terminal allowing a user to view a content stored in an external server via contracted communication lines comprises a communication data amount management unit configured to manage an amount of data communicated via a high-speed communication line of the communication lines, and a display control unit configured to execute display control, and in a case where there is a possibility that an amount of data necessary for viewing of the content is about to exceed an amount of data remaining within a contracted amount of data, the communication data amount management unit calculates, as a purchase price, a price to additionally purchase a predetermined amount of data of the high-speed communication line based on a predetermined condition, and the display control unit displays the calculated purchase price.
