Service Type and Device Type-based Policy and Charging Control
A session management function receives a first message from an access and mobility management function requesting establishment PDU session(s) for a wireless device. The first message comprises a device type of the wireless device. The session management function sends a second message to a policy control function. The second message comprises a request for charging polic(ies) for the PDU session(s). The second message comprises the device type of the wireless device. The session management function receives a third message from the policy control function. The third message comprises the charging polic(ies) determined based on the device type for the wireless device. The session management function selects a user plane function based on the device type for the wireless device. The session management function sends a fourth message to the user plane function. The fourth message comprises reporting rules based on the charging polic(ies).
Device assisted CDR creation, aggregation, mediation and billing
Device assisted CDR creation, aggregation, mediation and billing is provided. In some embodiments, device assisted CDR creation, aggregation, mediation and billing for a wireless network includes collecting device generated service usage information for one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network; and providing the device generated service usage information in a syntax (e.g., a device assisted charging data record (CDR)) and a communication protocol (e.g., 3GPP, 3GPP2, or other communication protocols) that can be used by other network devices to augment or replace network generated service usage information for the one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network.
Device Assisted CDR Creation, Aggregation, Mediation and Billing
There is provided an end point device including one or more processors configured to establish a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection with an intermediate networking device, communicate, to the intermediate networking device, an end point device credential that uniquely identifies the end point device, access a WWAN using a single user account associated with the end point device credential and the intermediate networking device, transmit network traffic to a forwarding layer of the intermediate networking device for forwarding the network traffic to the WWAN according to an access network forwarding policy, and communicate signals to indicate a current geographic location of the end point device.
Network connection system
A system and method for automatically negotiating Internet access between a user and one of a plurality of Internet connection providers. Users can buy or bid for Internet bandwidth, for example, through a server or website or by direct communications with an Internet access point such as, for example, a WIFI access point.
Device assisted CDR creation, aggregation, mediation and billing

Long term evolution intelligent subscriber profile
A processor may be configured to perform real-time analysis during a cloud service session so that intelligent subscriber profile information may be updated to a server for future cloud services for the originating user device and the terminating cloud service device.
Service scaling in communications
A method is disclosed for downscaling a deep packet inspection service in a network apparatus. The method comprises receiving data flow in a gateway virtual machine via a software defined networking switch, and keeping track of data flow and control flow and their state per subscriber. If needed, a new deep packet inspection virtual machine is selected for the data flow. The software defined networking switch is informed on the selection of the new deep packet inspection virtual machine. The new deep packet inspection virtual machine is instructed to re-create a flow identification for the data flow to ensure deep packet inspection service continuity.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO GENERATE AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT DATA FROM POPULATION SAMPLE DATA HAVING INCOMPLETE DEMOGRAPHIC CLASSIFICATIONS
Methods and apparatus to generate audience measurement data from population sample data having incomplete demographic classifications are disclosed. An example method includes detecting that a number of impressions a time segment of a video occurred based on messages; detecting that no impressions for the time segment of the video were detected by the database proprietor; determining respective percentages of exposures of the video that are attributable to corresponding ones of multiple demographic groups, determining the respective percentages being based on the first demographic information provided by the database proprietor for exposures of other time segments of the video; attributing respective portions of the number of impressions to the demographic groups based on the respective percentages to determine imputed numbers of impressions; generating adjusted numbers of impressions based on the imputed numbers of impressions; and determining ratings information for the video using the adjusted numbers of impressions.
SELECTIVE SERVICE CONTROL TO MOBILE IP NETWORK
Systems and methods are described for managing services of a computing device over a mobile network where requests for managed or unmanaged services are translated to corresponding IP addresses sent to the computing device and corresponding requests sent to the translated IP addresses are either permitted, rated, quality controlled or secured if the computing device has a valid data plan or is otherwise permissioned for using the mobile network, are denied if filtered and if the computing device does not have a valid data plan or is not otherwise permissioned and the request corresponds to the first address, and are permitted, rated, quality controlled or not secured even if the computing device does not have a valid data plan or is not otherwise permissioned if the request corresponds to the second address.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO GENERATE AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT DATA FROM POPULATION SAMPLE DATA HAVING INCOMPLETE DEMOGRAPHIC CLASSIFICATIONS
Methods and apparatus to generate audience measurement data from population sample data having incomplete demographic classifications are disclosed. An example method includes improving an accuracy of the first impressions counts by: determining a database proprietor frequency value for ones of demographic groups for a first one of time segments; calculating a distributor-level unique audience adjustment factor for ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments; determining adjusted unique audience sizes based on the distributor-level unique audience adjustment factor for ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments; for ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments, calculating adjusted impressions counts by determining a product of the adjusted unique audience sizes and the database proprietor frequency value; determining a scaling factor for the first one of the time segments by determining a ratio between site census impressions counts and a summation of the adjusted impressions counts associated with the ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments; applying the scaling factor to the adjusted impressions counts associated with the ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments to generate adjusted and scaled impressions counts; and determining an adjusted and scaled duration for ones of the demographic groups for the first one of the time segments by multiplying the adjusted and scaled impressions counts associated with the first ones of the demographic groups by a corresponding time value associated with the first one of the time segments.
