System and method for routing communications

A system and method that includes receiving a communication request of an account, the communication request including communication properties; identifying at least two routing options of a route priority list, the routing options capable of completing the communication request and identified according to a priority heuristic; generating a communication cost from the communication properties; and upon receipt of the routing response and the communication cost response, executing a communication with a routing option of the routing priority list and committing a cost of the communication to the account.

A processor may be configured to access mapping data for a route to a destination, as well as information associated with a mobile device that may include usage data of the mobile device, a user profile associated with the mobile device, or demographic data associated with a user of the mobile device. The route to the destination may be displayed along with an indicator of the predicted coverage for the mobile device along the route.

Notification of charging rate adjustments in regions of a mobile network to control bandwidth usage in the regions

Systems and methods are disclosed that notify end users of mobile devices of charging rate adjustments within a mobile network. A rate notification system receives bandwidth usage data for the mobile network, and identifies a region within the mobile network having a bandwidth usage that exceeds a threshold. The bandwidth usage is processed per media type (i.e., voice calls, text messages, etc) based on the bandwidth usage data. The rate notification system then identifies a mobile device located within the region, and identifies one or more contacts of the end user of the mobile device. The rate notification system then identifies an adjusted charging rate per contact per media type for this end user, and provides the adjusted charging rates to the end user of the mobile device.

Method and apparatus for controlling charging by using volume information of data

The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling charging by using volume information of data, and more particularly, to a method and an apparatus for controlling charging for a UE by using volume information of data when a caching operation according to a byte caching mode or an object caching mode is performed. Disclosed is a method including receiving a caching operation request for data from another server; determining a caching mode corresponding to the caching operation request; and transmitting a PCC rule change request to the policy controller according to the caching mode, wherein the PCC rule is a rule that controls charging for the UE based on volume information of the data.

Device type indication in session management operation

A session management function (SMF) may include one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the SMF to perform operations. The operations may include selecting a user plane function based on a device type of a wireless device, responsive to a session establishment request to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session for the wireless device. An indication of the device type may be provided with the session establishment request. The operations may also include sending, to the user plane function, reporting rules based on a charging policy received from a policy control function (PCF) responsive to a charging policy request to the PCF.

Network connection communication system

Provided is a technology that makes it possible for billing and balance management in the form of units that are difficult to understand for a user, to be expressed and managed in the form of units that are easy to understand from the viewpoint of the actual purpose of use. The network connection communication system is provided with means for expressing the unit price of network usage in terms of units that a user can understand more intuitively in the light of the purpose for which the network is used. For instance, the number of connection minutes (time), the number of books purchased and downloaded over the network, or the number of connections to a communicating partner can be used depending on the purpose of use of a service.

SYSTEM, DEVICE, METHOD, SOFTWARE APPLICATION AND DATA SIGNAL FOR MONITORING AN INTERACTION
20170041470 · 2017-02-09 ·

The present invention provides a system, device, method, software program and data signal for monitoring an interaction. The device includes a trigger detection module arranged to monitor events on a hardware device to determine a trigger for an event. On determining the trigger for the event, the trigger detection module invokes a timer module arranged to monitor for completion of the event. Upon completion of the event, the timer module records the total time of the event in an event record.

Offer based provision of fee based network access

Offer based provision of fee based network access is presented herein. An access component can provide a complementary access of first content of a network to a device without a per-access fee to a user account associated with the device. A monitor component can receive, from the device, a request for an alternate access of second content of the network that is different from the first content. The access component, based on a characteristic associated with the network determined to satisfy a defined condition with respect to the alternate access, can send an offer directed to the device for purchase of the alternate access with the per-access fee to the user account.

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to charging third parties for access to management services. An apparatus is configured to receive a first event notification for generating a charging data record (CDR). The apparatus is configured to generates the CDR in response to the first event notification, the CDR comprising information associated with access to a management service. The apparatus is configured to transmits a second event notification comprising the generated CDR.
