Achieving seamless service during unreachability of charging function entity

In one example, a session management function entity is configured to obtain an indication of a backup resource usage quota associated with a rating group of a user session for a user equipment configured to communicate via a mobile core network. The rating group is subject to online charging. The session management function entity determines that a charging function entity configured to provide an indication of a primary resource usage quota associated with the rating group is unreachable. In response to determining that the charging function entity is unreachable, the session management function entity allocates the backup resource usage quota associated with the rating group while the charging function entity is unreachable.

METHOD, DEVICE AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM FOR SERVICE CHAIN
20220150810 · 2022-05-12 ·

A method, device and computer readable medium for service chain is provided. Dynamic service chain is achieved and the service chain request is transmitted from the application. The device determines the service chain based on a profile of the application. Further, implicit service chain subscribing is also achieved. Thus, a more flexible service chain is achieved. Further, management of service chain related to NF service is also achieved.

System, method, and computer program for using artificial intelligence for online charging
11736306 · 2023-08-22 · ·

As described herein, a system, method, and computer program are provided for using artificial intelligence for online charging. A request for use of a network service by an entity is identified. Account allowances/balances to which the requested use of the network service can be charged are determined. Insights generated by an artificial intelligence system are accessed, where the insights predict future use of the network service (e.g. that will be charged to each account allowance/balance). A quota size to be requested in association with a select account allowance/balance is determined, based on the request for the use of the network service and the insights. A reservation request to reserve the quota size from the select account allowance/balance is generated. The use of the network service is authorized, when the quota size is reserved from the select account allowance/balance for the use of the network service.

CORE NETWORK FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20220141913 · 2022-05-05 ·

A core network for mobile communication system is provided. The core network includes a first network function (NF) element, a second NF element, and an operations, administration and maintenance (OAM) element. The OAM element periodically transmits a resource quota status message to the second NF element to obtain a count number of the resource of first NF element and a limit value of the count number via the second NF element, and adjusts the limit value of the resource of the first NF element according to the count number and the limit value of the resource of the first NF element.

Method for limiting usage of application, and terminal
11722494 · 2023-08-08 · ·

A method for limiting usage of an application on a mobile terminal includes presetting a usage limitation condition for the application, where the usage limitation condition includes a geographical location, a time, and a network condition of the mobile terminal. When an input operation of a user is received, the method includes obtaining a current operation environment corresponding to the usage limitation condition, limiting usage of the application when the operation environment meets the usage limitation condition, or normally using the application when the operation environment does not meet the usage limitation condition.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SWITCHING ZERO CHARGE CALLERS
20220030398 · 2022-01-27 ·

Asynchronous and/or synchronous zero charge telephony protocol systems and methods may include an asynchronous signaling switch and/or a call duration time quota from a synchronous charging onset to place and complete a call. A first device call request is received with a second device mobile address. The asynchronous systems include instructions to automatically modify the mobile address with a routing prefix when the first device has insufficient balance or independent of balance, route to the asynchronous signaling switch based on an associated modified address trunk path, revert the modified call signal at the asynchronous signaling switch to the call signal, and deliver and automatically disconnect the call immediately when the call is completed. The synchronous systems include instructions to automatically set the call duration time quota upon insufficient balance, and deliver and automatically disconnect the call from the second user mobile device when the call is completed and the call duration time quota is exceeded.

METHODS, APPARATUS AND MACHINE-READABLE MEDIUMS RELATING TO CHARGING IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK

One aspect provides a method performed by a network node implementing a network function repository function in a core network. A registration request message to register a CHF in a repository of network functions is received, the registration request message includes an indication of one or more sets of charging characteristics supported by the CHF and addressing information to reach the CHF. Each CHF in the repository is registered. A discovery request message including one or more search parameters for identifying a CHF, including at least an indication of a set of charging characteristics to be applied for the packet data connection is received. A CHF that supports the indicated set of charging characteristics is identified based on the one or more search parameters A discovery response message comprising the addressing information to reach the identified CHF is transmitted.

Distributed ledger system for management and implementation of exchanges of wireless services between wireless service providers
11234116 · 2022-01-25 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to using distributed ledger architectures. In one example, a distributed ledger system includes a first wireless provider and a second wireless provider configured to provide wireless services to one or more of end users of the first wireless provider to roam on; and a plurality of nodes associated with one or more of the wireless providers. Each of the plurality of nodes is configured to access a digital record of an exchange of wireless services between the first wireless provider and the second wireless provider; enable roaming of the one or more of the end users on the second wireless provider upon detecting a first triggering condition; monitor usage of the wireless services; verify the roaming based on the monitoring of the wireless services; and terminate the roaming of the one or more of the end users upon detecting a second triggering condition.

METHOD AND SYSTEM TO AUTHORIZE A SESSION AT AN ONLINE CHARGING SYSTEM IN A WIRELESS NETWORK

Methods and systems for an online charging system to grant resources to a session with a terminal device when the session includes a large file or the session has a long duration. Embodiments the invention include methods performed by an electronic device for online charging in a wireless network. In one embodiment, the electronic device receives a request message for resources to set up a session with a terminal device, where the request message is sent from a core network interface to an online charging function (OCF), and where the request message indicates that the session includes a large file or that the session has a long duration. The electronic device determines that the terminal device has enough credit for the session based on the request message and grants the resources for the session with the terminal device based on the determination.
