Method for regulating access to data connection by an electronic device
A method for monitoring and limiting access to a data connection by an electronic which has means for enabling/disenabling selectively the data connection is disclosed. The method includes a) detecting the initial and final time of each access to data connection during a predetermined time interval; b) counting the overall duration of the accesses to the data connection during the predetermined time interval; and c) if the overall duration reaches a value equal to a maximum duration value pre-set before the end of the predetermined time interval, actuating the means for disenabling the data connection until the end of the predetermined time interval. The method can provide a detailed report and a check in real time, by remote access, of the accesses and durations of a web site, of the time use of installed applications on the device, telephone calls, texts and screenshots of the devices placed under control.
ACCESS CONTROL USING TASK MANAGER
Methods and systems are described for providing conditional access to a service. One or more tasks may be associated with a user profile. The one or more tasks may be indicated as required to be completed to access the service. The one or more tasks may have associated deadlines. If a task is not completed by the deadline, then any device associated with the user profile may be blocked from access to the service.
METHODS AND NODES FOR MAINTAINING A COMMUNICATION SESSION FOR A SUBSCRIBER
There is provided mechanisms for granting network resources for maintaining a communication session for a subscriber in a network. A method is performed by a CTF node. The method includes obtaining, from a gateway in the network, a request for network resources for maintaining the communication session for the subscriber, and requesting, from an OCF node and in response thereto, credit units corresponding to the network resources. The method includes obtaining a grant of the credit units as well as an advance credit indication of additional credit units for the communication session from the OCF node. The method further includes storing the advance credit indication for the communication session and providing, to the gateway, a grant for the network resources for maintaining the communication session in accordance with the obtained grant.
Automated device provisioning and activation
Various embodiments are disclosed for a services policy communication system and method. In some embodiments, a communications device stores a set of device credentials for activating the communications device for a service on a network; and sends an access request to the network, the access request including the set of device credentials.
Functions and Method for Handling a Credit Pool of Service Units
The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a Control Plane (CP) function for handling a credit pool comprising granted service units to be used by multiple services. The multiple services are grouped in at least one first Rating Group (RG). The CP function creates an individual Usage Reporting Rule (URR) for each of the at least one first RG. Each individual URR comprises a first credit pool threshold. The CP function provides the individual URRs to a User Plane (UP) function. The CP function creates a Usage Reporting Rule for the Credit Pool (URR CRPL). The URR CRPL comprises instructions to the UP function to aggregate service unit usage for all individual URRs for all first RGs. The URR CRPL further comprises the first credit pool threshold. The CP function provides the URR CRPL to the UP function.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ONLINE CHARGING TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES IN REAL TIME
Computer-implemented method for online charging telecommunication services in real time, comprising: (i) running a money-to-time algorithm, computing a time balance based on charging parameters and a wallet balance; (ii) if greater than zero, creating a charging data record, CDR, and writing a start timestamp therein, setting a terminate session timer based on the time balance, and confirming the communication session; (iii) if not greater than zero, or upon expiration of the terminate session timer, instructing to terminate the communication session, wherein upon expiration of the terminate session timer an end timestamp is written in the CDR. Online charging system, OCS, implementing the method.
Verifiable device assisted service usage monitoring with reporting, synchronization, and notification
Various embodiments are disclosed for a services policy communication system and method. In some embodiments, a communications device implements a service policy for assisting control of the communications device use of a service on a network; and monitors use of the service based on the service policy, in which a local service usage is synchronized with a network based service usage.
Automated Device Provisioning and Activation
Various embodiments are disclosed for a services policy communication system and method. In some embodiments, a communications device stores a set of device credentials for activating the communications device for a service on a network; and sends an access request to the network, the access request including the set of device credentials.
Methods, Systems and Applications for Managing Wireless Services on a Wireless Device
The application is directed to a method and system for tracking and managing data usage on a wireless device. A graphical user interface is displayed on a wireless device for tracking and managing data usage over a predetermined time. A request is received via the graphical user interface to set an alert. The alert indicates when the data usage exceeds a predefined value. A determination is made whether the data usage exceeds the predefined value. Further, an alert is transmitted to the wireless device.
Resource allocation control based on connected devices
The present disclosure involves systems and computer implemented methods for implementing a resource allocation and adjusting resource usage and spending based on information received from a plurality of network-connected devices. One example method includes identifying a new connected device replacing an existing device associated with a resource allocation, the resource allocation defining an expected resource usage for a plurality of devices (including the existing device), obtaining historical resource usage information associated with the existing device, identifying the existing device's operational parameters, and determining an expected resource usage for the new connected device after replacement. A change in the expected resource usage in the resource allocation is calculated based on the obtained historical resource usage information associated with the existing device and the expected resource usage amount for the new connected device. The master resource allocation is then updated based on the calculated change.
