After a mobile terminal recognizes a type of a power adapter, the mobile terminal transmits indication information to the power adapter. The power adapter then negotiates with the mobile terminal via the quick charging process to determine charging parameters, and charges a battery of the mobile terminal in a multi-stage constant current mode.
