INTEGRATION OF CELLULAR PHONE DETECTION AND REPORTING INTO A PRISON TELEPHONE SYSTEM
20220231781 · 2022-07-21 · ·

The present subject matter is directed to an apparatus and methodology for monitoring for the occurrence of use of unauthorized telecommunications equipment within a designated area. The present subject matter has particular utility to the corrections environment in that it discloses a methodology for detecting and reporting the unauthorized operation of cellular telephones within a corrections facility. The present technology may be used advantageously in combination with inmate telephone systems to transmit information to appropriate personnel in the form of email messages and/or voice communications by way of telephone local or corrections facility external telephone lines. The present technology also provides for recordation and storage of time, date and location information for detected events.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATION ROUTING

Apparatus and methods consistent with the present disclosure route electronic communications to an appropriate resource that can efficiently and effectively provide responses to inquires included in or that are associated with a particular electronic communication. Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may be optimized for various different types of communication mediums with different sets of capabilities, requirements, or constraints by evaluating data that may be associated with historical information or with a stream of information.

User call quality improvement
11202212 · 2021-12-14 · ·

The disclosed system provides a facility for improving user call quality at a mobile device. The system includes an over-the-top (OTT) client that may be installed on the mobile device for allowing a user to initiate call quality tests. The system performs a call quality test to generate a call quality score or metric from the obtained audio sample via a Call Quality Algorithm. If the call quality score or metric falls below a predetermined threshold, the system may suggest (via the OTT client or via a push notification) that the user of the mobile device switch from the first communication interface (e.g., a radio network such as 4G) to a second communication interface (e.g., Wi-Fi) on the mobile device. The disclosed system tracks the call quality score or metric of multiple mobile devices operating within a telecommunications network, identifies service outages within the network, and notifies impacted mobile devices.

METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT FOR DETECTING A POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT CALL

A method and a User Equipment, UE (120) for detecting that the UE has received a fraudulent missed call, e.g. from a non-legitimate device (150). When receiving a missed call which is ended before a user of the UE has answered the incoming call, the UE determines the duration of the missed call, and indicates, e.g. to a user of the UE, the 5 duration of the missed call. The missed call may be determined as potentially fraudulent if the duration of the missed call is below or equal to a predetermined threshold.

Method and system for identification of a remote host in an out-of-band verification network
11196873 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A system detects abnormalities in a call signal indicative of call fraud. The system includes a first device situated in an originating call network and configured to send call signals to a second device situated in a terminating call network. The first device is coupled to a first registry to which it sends the call data from the sent signals for storage as originating call records. The second device is coupled to a second registry to which it sends the call data from the received signals for storage as terminating call records. The first and second registries exchange verification requests and responses to detect whether discrepancies exist between the stored originating call records in the first registry and stored terminating call records in the second registry. The registries generate alerts based on detected discrepancies, which may be used by the devices to block the call fraud.

Robocall detection
11196859 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A method of detecting robocalls includes generating at least one of an identification (ID) spoofing score, a number similarity score, and a call length prediction request for a telephone call request. The method further includes generating a robocall predictor score based at least in part on the call length prediction score and the ID spoofing score, and rejecting the telephone call request when the robocall predictor score indicates the telephone call request is invalid.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF REAL-TIME AUTOMATED DETERMINATION OF PROBLEM INTERACTIONS
20220201123 · 2022-06-23 · ·

The present invention allows a CEC system to automatedly, and without human intervention, identify interactions that are likely in need of supervisor intervention. The system reviews all incoming and outgoing interactions for analysis by a metadata analytics service (MAS) software module. The MAS analyzes the interactions to generate interaction metadata, which is used by an interaction analysis engine (IAE) to score the quality of the interaction. If the quality of the interaction is not sufficient, the system marks the interaction as being a problem interaction and notifies a supervisor of the interaction. This ensures the intelligent and dynamic determination of interactions that require additional assistance and assures notification to a supervisor.

Semiautomated relay method and apparatus

A method to transcribe communications includes obtaining an audio message from a first device during a voice communication session with a second device including a display screen, providing the message to a first speech recognition system to generate a first message transcript, providing the transcript to the second device for presentation on the screen, obtaining an indication that a transcript quality is below a threshold, providing, in response, the message to a second system to generate a second transcript while still providing it to the first system to generate the first transcript and providing the first transcript to the second device for presentation on the display screen, and in response to an event occurring that indicates the second transcript is to be provided to the second device instead of the first transcript, providing the second transcript to the second device for presentation on the screen instead of the first transcript.

Management of a communication call between a caller communications terminal, having a main call identifier and a secondary call identifier, and a called communications terminal
11368576 · 2022-06-21 · ·

A method for managing a communication call between a caller communications terminal and a called communications terminal. The caller communications terminal has a permanent main call identifier and at least one recorded temporary secondary call identifier, in association with the main call identifier, in at least one communications management device. When the caller communications terminal initiates a communication call to the called communications terminal from the secondary call identifier, such a method implements: sending, to the called terminal, a notification including at least the main call identifier, the secondary call identifier and at least one piece of identification information of a user of the calling terminal associated with said secondary call identifier; and routing the communication call to the called terminal in using the secondary call identifier.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO AUTOMATICALLY PERFORM ACTIONS BASED ON MEDIA CONTENT

Systems and methods are provided for automatically selecting a mute function based on audio content. One example method includes receiving, at a first computing device, a first audio input and, from a second computing device, a second audio input. Content of the first audio input and the second audio input is determined with natural language processing. Whether the content of the first audio input corresponds to the content of the second audio input is determined. A mute function is operated at the first computing device, based on the determination of whether the content of the first audio input corresponds to the content of the second audio input.
