METHOD FOR DETECTING FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE USE OF A TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDED BY A TELEPHONE OPERATOR
Method for detecting fraudulent or abusive use of telephone services comprising the following steps: collecting data on telephone communication exchanges carried out over a given study period from/to telephone numbers and involving roaming and/or interconnection; creating individual files for compiling exchange data for each studied number; revaluing communications based on pre-established revaluation rules to obtain a wholesale cost amount for each studied number; a step E4 of identifying suspicious numbers for which the amount of wholesale costs exceeds a predetermined threshold value over the study period; a step E7 of detecting fraudulent use by analysing exchange data compiled in the files associated with the identified numbers and/or the multiparametric indicators obtained from said data.
Methods for detecting fraudulent or abusive use of telephone services.
Call screening service for detecting fraudulent inbound/outbound communications with subscriber devices
An example method of operation may include one or more of identifying an inbound call intended for a mobile device subscribed to a protected carrier network, determining the inbound call is assigned an origination telephone number that is subscribed to the protected carrier network, determining whether an inbound call origination source location indicates the protected carrier network or an out-of-network carrier network based on one or more call parameters received with the inbound call, and determining whether to transmit an indication to the mobile device that the inbound call has an elevated likelihood of being a scam call based on the inbound call origination source location.
CALL CONTENT MANAGEMENT FOR MOBILE DEVICES
One example method of operation may include identifying a call to a mobile device, determining whether the call includes call content data intended for the mobile device, initiating an active session and a time to live (TTL) associated with the call content data, forwarding the call content data to the mobile device when the call includes call content data associated with the caller, and receiving a content confirmation from the mobile device that the call content data was received.
REUSABLE MULTIMODAL APPLICATION
A method and system are disclosed herein for accepting multimodal inputs and deriving synchronized and processed information. A reusable multimodal application is provided on the mobile device. A user transmits a multimodal command to the multimodal platform via the mobile network. The one or more modes of communication that are inputted are transmitted to the multimodal platform(s) via the mobile network(s) and thereafter synchronized and processed at the multimodal platform. The synchronized and processed information is transmitted to the multimodal application. If required, the user verifies and appropriately modifies the synchronized and processed information. The verified and modified information are transferred from the multimodal application to the visual application. The final result(s) are derived by inputting the verified and modified results into the visual application.
APPARATUS FOR NETWORK ACCESS SETUP AND METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed in one embodiment of the present invention is a method for a user staying in a first country to be authorized in advance, before entering a second country which is different from the first country, to use a network service on a user terminal in the second country, without buying a local USIM after arriving in the second country or using a roaming service.
Controlling functions of mobile communications devices
Function-control instructions for controlling a function or feature of a device can be created remotely, locally, or both. A device can receive a function-control instruction or a function-control instruction embedded in received content. Additionally, or alternatively, a function-control instruction can be created locally based on user information or calibration information. Function-control instructions can be passed to an instruction execution application that interprets the function-control instruction. The instruction execution application can pass instructions, based on the function-control instruction, to the device for implementation.
Mobile communication terminal, communication method, and communication system
A mobile communication terminal used in a communication system in which audio based on an audio signal transmitted from a given mobile communication terminal having speaking rights is output from another mobile communication terminal, the given mobile communication terminal being selected by a server storing priority rank information indicating a priority rank pertaining to acquisition of the speaking rights for each of a plurality of mobile communication terminals, the mobile communication terminal including a rank signal receiver receiving, from the server, a priority rank signal based on the priority rank information stored by the server and indicating the priority rank for at least a subset of the mobile communication terminals and a display displaying a terminal priority rank based on the priority rank signal when the rank signal receiver receives the priority rank signal.
Devices and methods for telephone call sharing using a direct wireless connection
A host electronic device is configured to share a telephone call with a participant electronic device. The host electronic device includes a transceiver, a wireless communication module and a controller. The controller is configured to: establish a direct wireless connection with the participant electronic device; process and present incoming call data received from an outside device through a speaker and/or a display device at the host electronic device; forward the incoming call data to the participant electronic device using the direct wireless connection for presentation of the incoming call data through a speaker and/or a display device at the participant device; receive participant call data from the participant electronic device using the direct wireless connection; process and present the received participant call data through a speaker and/or display device at the host electronic device; and forward the participant call data to the outside device.
TECHNIQUE FOR EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION
In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles. Further, information in a mobile device may be organized using electronic information cards, referred to as “E-cards,” which facilitate, among others, transfer of information from the mobile device to the server, or other mobile devices to conduct various commercial and data transactions.
MOBILE EMERGENCY RESPONSE NETWORK
A mobile emergency response network may be utilized to respond to emergencies. Emergency response resources may be selected and deployed through the use of network communications between user equipment and network elements. In an example configuration, a mobile emergency response network may receive emergency data, determine an emergency is occurring, determine a resource requirement for the emergency, identify a mobile device associated with a user who meets the resource requirement, and send a request to the mobile device.
