IMPROVED HANDLING OF EMERGENCY CALLS IN A ROAMING SCENARIO
20170374107 · 2017-12-28 ·

A method for improved handling of emergency calls in a roaming scenario includes: a voice call being initiated by the user equipment via the user equipment transmitting a first message directed to a network node of the home telecommunications network, the first message comprising the specific emergency call telephone number; wherein a second message is transmitted to the network node of the home telecommunications network, the second message comprising an emergency call information, the emergency call information being indicative of the use of a valid emergency call telephone number in relation of the voice call; and a third message being generated by the node of the home telecommunications network, wherein the third message is transmitted to a network node of the visited telecommunications network, and forwarded, as a fourth message, to the user equipment to trigger an emergency call procedure.

Fault routing of an emergency communication

Aspects of the disclosure relate to routing of an emergency communication under fault conditions. Routing can be implemented in a packet-switching (PS) network that provides voice service. For a network node of the PS network, availability to route the emergency communication through a specific emergency service routing number (ESRN) can be determined and, in response to the network node being unavailable, administrative data associated with the ESRN can be accessed. In addition, an identifier associated with the administrative data can be updated (e.g., created or modified) with data indicative of the device that originated the emergency communication. The administrative data and the resulting identifier can be delivered to a second network node that can route the emergency communication to an emergency service network.

COMMUNITY SAFETY, SECURITY, HEALTH COMMUNICATION AND EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM PROVIDING EMERGENCY SOURCE TRACKING

A community safety system (CSS) including a notification management entity (NME) comprising servers, the NME communicatively coupled to multiple user devices and one or more administrator devices (collectively, registered user devices). The CSS includes a plurality of registered users, wherein registered users may share their own location, as well as sighting information about the location of a source of an emergency (e.g. a perpetrator) with the NME of the CSS. The NME may generate and provide display objects on a visualization interface of one or more users mobile devices displaying a map, the display objects indicative of user locations and/or emergency source location in the map displayed (e.g., in accordance with the map coordinate system).

MOBILE EMERGENCY RESPONSE NETWORK
20170359712 · 2017-12-14 ·

A mobile emergency response network may be utilized to respond to emergencies. Emergency response resources may be selected and deployed through the use of network communications between user equipment and network elements. In an example configuration, a mobile emergency response network may receive emergency data, determine an emergency is occurring, determine a resource requirement for the emergency, identify a mobile device associated with a user who meets the resource requirement, and send a request to the mobile device.

User configurable routing of VoIP calls

In one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a set of VoIP servers configured to route VoIP calls to and from a plurality of VoIP-enabled devices. Each of the VoIP-enabled devices is respectively associated with one of a plurality of client accounts. A control circuit is communicatively connected to the one or more VoIP servers and directs the VoIP servers to route VoIP calls for a client account according to a respective routing policy for the client account. The routing policy indicates one or more routing algorithms for selecting paths of a network for routing each of the VoIP calls. The routing policy also indicates a selection algorithm configured to, for each VoIP call, one of the set of routing algorithms based on a set of criteria such as geographic location and/or time of the call.

CONTROL OF USER EQUIPMENT FUNCTIONALITY
20170353594 · 2017-12-07 ·

A user equipment, network control node, method performed at a network control node and a method performed at a user equipment within a telecommunication network are disclosed. The method performed at the user equipment comprises: receiving an incoming call signal, the incoming call signal comprising a combined automatic answer and loudspeaker activation indication; in response to the incoming call signal, automatically answering the incoming call and activating a loudspeaker on the user equipment.

Systems and methods for supporting control plane location in a fifth generation wireless network
11678147 · 2023-06-13 · ·

Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) in a Fifth Generation wireless network using a Location Management Function (LMF) based control plane (CP) location solution. The LMF serves as the main anchor point for location support instead of an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). The LMF may be in either a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) for a UE or in a Home PLMN for a roaming UE. The LMF may obtain location information for a UE via an AMF from a Next Generation Radio Access Network or the UE and may interact with a Gateway Mobile Location Center to receive location requests from and return location information to an external client. The LMF solution may be more efficient and require less implementation than an AMF based CP location solution.

METHODS TO PRIORITIZE MOBILE ORIGINATED EMERGENCY CALLS OVER EXISTING MOBILE TERMINATED CALL RELATED SIGNALING ON OTHER SUBSCRIPTION

A method for prioritizing a mobile originated emergency call over mobile terminated call signaling, includes: initiating an emergency call on a first subscription; determining whether a mobile terminated (MT) call is incoming on a second subscription; in response to determining that the MT call is incoming on the second subscription, aborting the MT call signaling; determining whether the first subscription is out of service; and in response to determining that the first subscription is not out of service completing the emergency call on the first subscription.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS AMONGST GROUPS OF DEVICES BASED ON SHARED DATA

Described herein are systems, devices, methods, and media for managing emergency communications providing data sharing amongst groups of devices, proxy calling by one communication device on behalf of another, and seamless data extraction from a communication device by first responders.

Systems and Methods for Notifying Law Enforcement Officers of Armed Intruder Situations

A computer-implemented method executed by one or more computer servers includes receiving a notification from a first communication device. The notification indicates an armed intruder within a first stationary geofence. The method further includes determining whether one or more of a first plurality of communication devices are within a second stationary geofence different than the first stationary geofence, and in response to the notification, providing an emergency alert to the communication device(s) determined to be within the second stationary geofence. Other example computer-implemented methods, communication devices including software applications, and systems for notifying one or more LEOs of an armed intruder by a premises personnel associated with a premises are also disclosed.
