Configurable in-vehicle teletypewriter (TTY) functionality
A system and method of carrying out a teletypewriter (TTY) call at a vehicle, the method being carried out by vehicle electronics of the vehicle, wherein the method includes: receiving a TTY configuration request at the vehicle electronics of the vehicle; configuring the vehicle to operate based on the TTY configuration request, wherein the configuring includes storing TTY configuration data at the vehicle; receiving a telephone call initiation request at the vehicle, the telephone call initiation request corresponding to a telephone call with an end user; determining whether TTY functionality is enabled or disabled at the vehicle, wherein the determination of whether the TTY functionality is enabled or disabled at the vehicle includes inspecting the TTY configuration data; and when it is determined that the TTY functionality is enabled at the vehicle, carrying out a TTY call at the vehicle.
Proximity-based communication
Approaches presented herein enable determining whether to allow a communication to a recipient using a communication device based on one or more classifications of nearby individuals. Specifically, location awareness technology is leveraged to identify individuals near an intended recipient of a communication. Through review and analysis of information related to the individuals gathered from social networking outlets (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and/or gathered from the recipient's communication device, a classification is assigned to each individual. Based on the classifications, a determination is made as to whether the intended communication mode is to be allowed.
Dynamically assigning an automatic number identification (ANI) to a device deployed in a controlled-environment facility
Systems and methods for dynamically assigning an Automatic Number Identification (ANI) to a device deployed in a controlled-environment facility. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a system may include: a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the system to: receive a request to facilitate a communication between a resident of a controlled-environment facility and a non-resident of the controlled-environment facility, where the resident operates a device lacking a dedicated ANI; and assign a temporary ANI to the resident's device, where the temporary ANI is different from any other ANI being used by any other device in the controlled-environment facility concurrently with the communication.
VIDEO GREETING PLAYING METHOD, SYSTEM, SERVER AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of communication, and provide a video greeting playing method, system, server and storage medium. The video greeting playing method includes: in response to receiving a call transfer request indicating that a first terminal fails to call a second terminal, acquiring a type of a media channel currently accessed by the first terminal; in response to that the type of the media channel currently accessed by the first terminal is audio, performing video media negotiation with the first terminal; and in response to that the video media negotiation with the first terminal succeeds, sending a video greeting pre-recorded by the second terminal to the first terminal for the first terminal to play the video greeting.
Image communication apparatus capable of performing facsimile communication via IP network, method of controlling the same, and storage medium
The present invention provides a technique that enables an image communication apparatus capable of performing voice communication and T.30 in-band FAX communication over the IP network to positively detect a CNG signal and achieve switching to FAX reception in the answerphone connection mode and the FAX/TEL-switching mode. The communication apparatus includes a MODEM that controls facsimile communication and a SLIC that controls a telephone. A selector includes switches for connecting the IP network and the MODEM, and switches for connecting the IP network and the SLIC. A CPU controls the switches of the selector such that signals from the IP network are supplied to both of the MODEM and the SLIC.

Classifying communications with human-based interactive questions
A method may include receiving a communication that is sent from a source over a network to a user. The method may also include categorizing the communication request. The categorization may include sending a first question communication that includes a first human-based interactive question over the network to the source. The categorization may also include receiving an answer communication over the network from the source and determining whether the answer communication correctly answers the first question communication. In response to determining that the answer communication correctly answers the first question communication, a second question communication that includes a second human-based interactive question may be sent over the network to the source instead of performing a first task with the received communication.
