Audio systems and methods

A system for receiving multiple conversations or messages and for playing the multiple conversations or messages with a mobile device and wireless earpieces. The system may determine various presentation parameters based on various characteristics of the received messages and may play the messages such that audio appears at distinguishing locations around the user. The system may change how messages and/or conversations are played in response to recognize a change in the focus of the user based on detected user inputs, such as body movement gestures.

Mobile telephone

A mobile telephone has a front wall, a rear wall, a top wall partly continuous with a side face, and a side wall, and includes a vibration-absorbing member between the top wall and each of the rear wall and the side wall, and a cartilage conduction vibration source on the inner side of the top wall. Opposite corner parts of the top wall partly continuous with the side face each serve as a cartilage conduction unit. Or a mobile telephone has a front wall, a rear wall, a top wall, and a side wall, and includes a cartilage conduction vibration source that has a thin shape, that vibrates in a direction perpendicular to the thin shape, and that is affixed to the middle, in the left/right direction, of the inner side of the top wall in a direction parallel to the thin shape.

In one embodiment, a first PC may receive a trigger to establish a data communication session with a second PC over an established voice call between first and second phones over a WAN. In response, the first PC may discover the first phone as an authorized personal area network (PAN) device, and may establish a first PAN communication session between the first PC and the first phone. A request may then be transmitted to the second phone over the established voice call to establish the data communication session between the first and second PCs, and in response, the second phone may discover the second PC as an authorized PAN device from the second phone. A second PAN communication session may thus be established between the second phone and the second PC, and data may be exchanged between the PCs using the PAN communication sessions and the established voice call.

Wearable device having athletic functionality

A wearable device assembly has a housing supporting a controller, display and indicator system thereon. The controller has at least one sensor wherein activity of a user wearing the device is detected. The controller selectively illuminates the indicator system to indicate a level of activity of the user.

Apparatus and method for processing bluetooth data in portable terminal

An apparatus and a method for processing Bluetooth data in a portable terminal are provided. The apparatus includes a first control unit for transmitting a predetermined data transmission condition, a second control unit for receiving and storing the data transmission condition, for determining whether the data transmission condition is satisfied when data is received from an accessory through Bluetooth communication, and for transmitting the received data to the first control unit when the data transmission condition is satisfied as a result of the determination.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SILENT PERIOD OPERATION DURING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

A method for wireless communication is described. The method includes receiving a silent indication (SID) start message from a modem at a Bluetooth (BT) module when the modem detects a silent period in a voice call. The method also includes sending the SID start message from the BT module to a remote BT device. The method further includes disabling a BT transmitter during the silent period based on the SID start message received from the modem.

HANDS-FREE APPARATUS, HANDS-FREE SYSTEM, AND DATA TRANSFER METHOD

A hands-free apparatus enables a hands-free call by being wirelessly connected to a mobile phone that stores therein history data including incoming call history data and outgoing call history data, and phonebook data. The hands-free apparatus is configured to: perform control of connecting to the mobile phone by a transfer protocol for transferring the history data and the phonebook data; receive the history data and the phonebook data from the mobile phone by the transfer protocol when the mobile phone is present in a wireless connection area; and display an error and display a reconnection screen for receiving an instruction for reconnection by the transfer protocol with the mobile phone from a user, on a display, when connection by the transfer protocol with the mobile phone is disconnected during reception of at least one of the history data and the phonebook data.
