Systems and methods for determining a height of a mobile device above a surface
Determining one or more heights of one or more mobile devices above surfaces. Particular embodiments described herein include machines that retrieve first data (e.g., measurement value(s) determined by sensor(s) of a mobile device or estimated position(s) of the mobile device), determine a location context based on the first data, identify second data (e.g., measurement value(s) determined by sensor(s) of the mobile device or status indicator value(s) of feature(s) of the mobile device) to retrieve for use in determining an estimated height above a surface at which the mobile device is located based on the determined location context, retrieve the second data, and determine an estimated height above a surface at which the mobile device is located based on the retrieved second data.
STANDARD MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE DISTRACTION PREVENTION AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Methods and systems for providing standardized mobile device distraction prevention and safety protocols are disclosed. In particular, an embodiment of a method for activating a distraction prevention or safety protocol behavior in a mobile device when the mobile device satisfies a specific condition is disclosed. The method includes discovering one or more protocol activators configured to transmit discovery information associated with a specific condition. The method further includes activating distraction prevention safety protocol behavior in the mobile device based at least in part on the discovery information. In an implementation, the specific condition may be a specified environment itself and or include an event when the mobile device enters a specified environment, or a specified sequence of numbers is dialed from the mobile device.
REDUCED SIZE CONFIGURATION INTERFACE
In response to detecting that an external device is within communication range of an electronic device and in accordance with a determination that the external device is in a pairing mode, the electronic device displays an affordance corresponding to a pairing application of the electronic device. In response to detecting that an external device is within communication range of an electronic device and in accordance with a determination that the external device is not in the pairing mode, the electronic device forgoes display of the affordance. In response to user input corresponding to selection of the affordance, the electronic device displays a user interface associated with initiating a process to pair the electronic device and the external device.
CONTROLLING ACCESS TO PROTECTED FUNCTIONALITY OF A HOST DEVICE USING A WIRELESS DEVICE
A wearable device can establish a verified session with a host device (e.g., by establishing that the wearable device is present in the vicinity of the host device and is currently being worn). The existence of such a verified session can be used to control user access to sensitive information that may be stored in or otherwise accessible to a host device. For example, the host device and/or application programs executing thereon can be configured to restrict a user's ability to invoke program functionality that accesses sensitive information based on whether a verified session with a wearable device is currently in progress.
Bluetooth Connection Method, Device, and System
A BLUETOOTH connection system includes a BLUETOOTH headset, and a first electronic device and a second electronic device that have been paired with the BLUETOOTH headset. The BLUETOOTH headset is configured to establish a first connection to the first electronic device, where the first connection includes an asynchronous connection-oriented link (ACL) connection. The BLUETOOTH headset is further configured to send a BLUETOOTH Low Energy (BLE) broadcast message. A Bluetooth audio broadcasting system includes: an audio broadcasting device, a first Bluetooth member device, and a second Bluetooth member device. After the first Bluetooth member device issues a volume adjusting request, the audio broadcasting device transmits a volume adjusting instruction to the first Bluetooth member device and the second Bluetooth member device. The first Bluetooth member device acquires a predetermined audio data from the BLE audio packets, controls a first audio playback circuit to playback the predetermined audio data, and adjusts an audio volume of the first audio playback circuit according to the volume adjusting instruction. The second Bluetooth member device acquires the predetermined audio data from the BLE audio packets, controls a second audio playback circuit to playback the predetermined audio data, and adjusts an audio volume of the second audio playback circuit according to the volume adjusting instruction.

There is provided a method of wirelessly connecting a communication device to other devices using a communication protocol, wherein the communication device searches for external devices known to the communication device by executing a search activity in which the search effort to be spent by the communication device increases with the number of known external devices to be searched, wherein the communication device adjusts the search effort spent on the search activity for each one of the external devices according to the relevance of that external device, with a higher relevance of the external device resulting in a higher search effort, and wherein the search effort is determined by at least one of the following parameters of the search activity: scheduling frequency, duty cycle and transmission power.
