The user terminal device includes a display configured to be divided into a first area and a second area which is larger than the first area with reference to a folding line, a detector configured to detect a user interaction, and a controller configured to, in response to a folding of the display with reference to the folding line being detected through the detector, control the display to display a predetermined UI on an exposure area which is exposed part of the second area.

The foldable display includes a first region, a second region, and a third region. When the electronic device is in a folded form, the second region is bent. The message display method includes displaying a first interface of a first application in the first region; receiving a first message of a second application; displaying the first message in the first region; detecting a first flipping action; and displaying the first message in the second region.

Electronic devices may be provided that contain flexible displays that are bent to form displays on multiple surfaces of the devices. Bent flexible displays may be bent to form front side displays and edge displays. Edge displays may be separated from front side displays or from other edge displays using patterned housing members, printed or painted masks, or by selectively activating and inactivating display pixels associated with the flexible display. Edge displays may alternately function as virtual buttons, virtual switches, or informational displays that are supplemental to front side displays. In addition, the electronic device may comprise: a printed circuit board disposed in the second space; a first display supported by the first plate and the third plate; a battery disposed between the third plate and the fourth plate in the second space; and a second display disposed between the battery and the fourth plate and visible from the outside through at least a part of the fourth plate. At least a part of the second display may be disposed to face the battery.

A user terminal device and a displaying method thereof are provided. The user terminal device includes a display configured to display a first screen on a display which is divided by a folding line into a first area and a second area, the second area being larger than the first area with reference to a folding line and including an exposure area that is exposed while the display is folded along the folding line such that the first area faces the second area, a detector configured to detect, while the first screen is displayed, a first folding interaction of folding the display such that the first area faces the second area and a second folding interaction of folding the display such that a first cover corresponding to the first area faces a second cover corresponding to the second area, and a controller configured to, in response to detecting the first folding interaction, display a second screen related to the first screen on the exposure area, and in response to the second folding interaction being detected, display a third screen related to the first screen on the first area or the second area.
