Electronic devices with sidewall displays
Electronic devices may be provided that contain flexible displays that are bent to form displays on multiple surfaces of the devices. Bent flexible displays may be bent to form front side displays and edge displays. Edge displays may be separated from front side displays or from other edge displays using patterned housing members, printed or painted masks, or by selectively activating and inactivating display pixels associated with the flexible display. Edge displays may alternately function as virtual buttons, virtual switches, or informational displays that are supplemental to front side displays. Virtual buttons may include transparent button members, lenses, haptic feedback components, audio feedback components, or other components for providing feedback to a user when virtual buttons are activated.
Mobile electronic device wrapped in electronic display
Systems and techniques for substantially wrapping a mobile electronic device in a display are provided. A mobile electronic device is described that includes a primary display, a primary user input mechanism, and a secondary display. The primary display is operable to display user-selectable elements and has a face on a portion of an exterior surface of the mobile electronic device. The exterior surface includes all surfaces visible to a user. The primary user input mechanism is operable to receive user selections in coordination with the primary display of user-selectable elements. The secondary display is operable to display content to a user. The secondary display includes substantially the entire exterior surface of the mobile electronic device excluding the primary display.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
Disclosed are a display apparatus and a method for controlling same. The display apparatus comprises: a main display unit for displaying a first application group; a sub display unit stored in the display apparatus or exposed therefrom; a sensor unit for sensing whether the display apparatus is rotated; and a control unit, wherein the sub display unit is exposed from the display apparatus to display a second application group, and the control unit controls the main display unit to display a previously configured screen when the sub display is stored, and when the display apparatus is sensed by the sensor unit to have been rotated in the lateral direction within a previously set time by an angle equal to or greater than a previously set angular value, then the control unit can control the main display unit so that the second application group is displayed thereon on a full screen.
TOUCH SCREEN PANEL, ELECTRONIC NOTEBOOK, AND MOBILE TERMINAL
A touch screen panel may include a liquid crystal, a first transparent electrode and a second transparent electrode provided at both sides of the liquid crystal, and a controller configured to transfer image data to the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode in a first mode and sense a touch of a user on at least one of the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode in a second mode.
Setting systems and setting methods
A setting system including a mobile terminal having an interface with an external device so as to transmit and receive information therebetween; and a display device having the interface with the mobile terminal so as to transmit and receive information therebetween, a display section whose screen size is larger than the mobile terminal, and an input section to which the user can input information. When the mobile terminal and the display device are connected through the interface, the mobile terminal and the display device display a setting screen that includes a setting item that sets at least the state of the mobile terminal such that the user can change a setting for the mobile terminal on the setting screen.
MOBILE DEVICE
The present invention relates to a mobile device. A mobile device, according to an embodiment, comprises: a first main body which has a display unit having an image output on one side thereof; a second main body which is positioned at a predetermined distance away from the first main body and has a substrate unit, inside which an electronic component is mounted, and a power source battery for supplying a power source; and a connecting member which electrically connects the first main body and the second main body on the lower ends of the first main body and the second main body. The connecting member comprises: a body portion which forms the external shape; a mounting portion which is provided on the upper side of the body portion and has the first main body and the second main body placed thereon; a flexible substrate which is placed on the inside of the body portion and electrically connects the first main body and the second main body; and terminals which are formed on both end portions of the flexible substrate, are externally protruded from the mounting portion, and which are coupled to the first main body and the second main body, respectively.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRESENTING VISUAL CONTENT FROM A SMART DEVICE
Embodiments described herein provide a device for presenting for presenting visual content from a smart device, having a housing including a base pivotably connected to a display panel; and a receiver configured to receive a signal from the smart device and transmit the signal from the smart device to the display panel; where the housing is not configured to transmit a control signal to the smart device.
Communications device for intelligently routing information among multiple user interfaces
A near field communications (NFC) device is disclosed that intelligently routes NFC data from a NFC device between multiple user interfaces based upon a power level of its internal batteries. The communications device utilizes a communications device user interface to send and/or receive the NFC data from the NFC device when its internal batteries are sufficient to operate the communications device user interface. The communications device begins to route some of this NFC data from being sent and/or received by the communications device user interface to a NFC user interface as its internal batteries deplete. Eventually, all of the NFC data will be sent to and/or received by the NFC user interface as the internal batteries of the communications device become so depleted that they are unable to reliably operate the communications device user interface.
User terminal apparatus and controlling method thereof
A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal device includes a display having a main display area disposed on a front side of the user terminal apparatus and a sub display area extended from one side of the main display area to be disposed on at least one area of a rear side of the user terminal apparatus and a processor configured to, in response to a predetermined touch input being input on the sub display area, control the display to display a UI displayed on the sub display area on the main display area.
Foldable display device and method of controlling therefor
A foldable display device and a method of controlling therefor, and more particularly, to a method of configuring illuminance of a display screen according to an illuminance value detected based on a folding angle between a first body and a second body of the foldable display device.
