The present disclosure generally relates to user interfaces for multi-user communication sessions. In some examples, a device initiates a live stream in a communication session. In some examples, a device transitions between streaming live audio and live video. In some examples, a device enables synchronizing media playback during a live stream.

A system for ad hoc endpoint device association for multimedia conferencing may include one or more processors and memory. The one or more processors may prepare to provide sets of video streams corresponding to a multimedia conference to first, second, and third participant devices, where the set of videos streams prepared for each participant device includes video streams associated with the other participant devices. The one or more processors may determine that the first and second participant devices are in a same physical area and may generate, in response to the determining, a location association between the first and second participant devices for the multimedia conference. The one or more processors may exclude the video stream associated with the third participant device from set of video streams prepared for the first participant device based at least in part on the location association between the first and second participant devices.

A computer-implemented method for managing calls in a collaboration environment is provided. The method includes receiving, by a processor, a call into a collaboration session of the collaboration environment. The method also includes identifying, by the processor, a user from a plurality of users associated with the collaboration session, based on at least one of contextual information regarding the call and information regarding the plurality of users. The method further includes providing, by the processor, an interface on a device associated with the identified user, wherein the interface enables the identified user to instruct the device to handle the call within the collaboration session.

A method and system includes the ability for individuals to set up an ad hoc digital and voice network easily and rapidly to allow users to coordinate their activities by eliminating the need for pre-entry of data into a web or identifying others by name, phone numbers or email. This method is especially useful for police, fire fighters, military, first responders or other emergency situations for coordinating different organizations at the scene of a disaster to elevate conventional communication problems either up and down the chain of command or cross communication between different emergency units. The method and system provides that the users are only required to enter a specific Server IP address and an ad hoc event name, a password and perhaps the name of the particular unit.

A speaker and conference call module and mobile device case combination allows a mobile device, such as a smartphone, to be retained by the mobile device case. The speaker and conference call module is configured to wirelessly connect to the mobile device to permit audio from the mobile device to be played thereupon. The speaker and conference call module further includes a microphone to permit audio pick-up by the module and deliver that audio signal to the mobile device, permitting two-way conference call features. An exemplary communication session management system concurrently presents a plurality of session icons within a single on-screen user interface, each session icon representative of a respective communication session and configured to visually indicate a session status of the respective communication session. The communication session management system further detects a user action performed by a user with respect to one of the plurality of session icons, modifies a communication session in response to the user action, and graphically indicates the modification of the session status of the communication session.
