File transmission/reception device and control method of file transmission/reception device
According to one embodiment, a file transmission/reception device includes a communication direction managing unit and an application unit. The communication direction managing unit, in near field communication, cuts off a connection with an opposing device in a case where a conflict occurs with the opposing device, and, after being reconnected to the opposing device, switches the file transmission/reception device to any one mode of a master mode and a slave mode. The application unit performs transmission, reception, or transmission/reception of a file between the opposing device and the file transmission/reception device in the master mode or the slave mode in accordance with a mode specified by the communication direction managing unit.
Mobile terminal and control method thereof
A method of controlling a mobile terminal, and which includes establishing, via a wireless communication unit of the mobile terminal, a wireless data channel to an external device; receiving, via a controller of the mobile terminal, application execution information from the external device, said application execution information indicating an application executed on the external device that is to be executed on the mobile terminal; displaying, via the controller, a lock screen corresponding to the application to be executed on the mobile terminal on a touchscreen of the mobile terminal; receiving, via the controller, a lock release signal indicating the lock screen has been released; and executing the application on the mobile terminal when the lock screen is released.
Wireless pairing and communication between devices using biometric data
In a first implementation, a host determines to pair with a device and transmits biometric data for a user to the device. The device receives the transmitted biometric data and compares such to device biometric data to determine whether or not to pair with the host and/or what data stored by the device to allow the host to access. The host then accesses data of the device to which the device has allowed access. In another implementation, a device determines to pair with a host and transmits biometric data for a user to the host. The host receives the transmitted biometric data and compares such to device biometric data to determine whether or not to pair with the device and/or what data stored by the host to allow the device to access. The device then accesses data of the host to which the host has allowed access.
Adjusting signal settings for a display using a light sensor
In some implementations, a mobile computing device may participate in the calibration of an output signal of a media device. This calibration process includes storing device-specific calibration data which is related to properties of a light sensor of the mobile device. The mobile device then detects of properties of light emitted by the display device during a presentation to obtain sensor values related to light emitted by the display device during the presentation. The calibration process may also ensure that the mobile device is proximate to the display device prior to obtaining the sensor values. The collected sensor values are adjusted using device-specific calibration data stored to the mobile device to normalize the sensor values relative to a baseline. These normalized sensor values are sent to the media device for use in adjusting the output signal based on the normalized sensor values.
MOBILE DEVICE COMMUNICATION
Described is a technology by which a mobile computing device such as a mobile telephone operates differently based on detected proximity to another mobile device with which the first mobile device has a defined relationship. For example, the first mobile device may transfer content to the second mobile computing device when proximity corresponds to a non-cellular communications coupling, such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi coupling. In this manner, content transfer is deferred until a non-cellular coupling exists. The mobile device (or both devices) may output a notification to indicate that the other mobile computing device has been detected within a threshold proximity, such as via GPS data or by being within the same cellular tower. The type and/or settings of an output notification may vary based on different thresholds.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SYNCHRONIZING DATA ACROSS DEVICES AND MEDIATING DATA SHARING
Systems and methods for synchronizing data across devices and mediating data sharing are described. In some embodiments, the systems can include a user device and at least one target device connected over a network for sharing event information. The user device and the target devices can include sensors thereon for detecting a gesture than can correspond to events that generate commands to perform tasks. Event information collected from the sensors can be compared and normalized using a cloud infrastructure to determine if the event is synchronized between the user device and the target devices such that the user device collected the same values as the target devices. If the event is synchronized, the system can perform the task. In some embodiments, the task can include synchronizing data between the user device and the target device while selectively choosing a target device for data sharing. In some embodiments, the task can include the user device acting as a mediator for data sharing between two or more target devices.
Device and method for sharing content using the same
A method for sharing content of a device is provided. The method includes receiving, by an inputter, an input of a share command of a selected content, recommending at least one service to share the content among a plurality of services that are available in the device and a share target, and sharing, by a controller, the content with the share target selected through the selected service based on a selection input with respect to the at least one recommended service and the share target.
Method for providing content and electronic device thereof
A method of providing a content in an electronic device is provided. The method includes include detecting a mapping event associated with a content of the electronic device, in response to detecting the mapping event, confirming the content, determining a contact point for mapping the content, and mapping the content to the contact point for mapping.
Method of playing music prior to establishing a phone call
This present invention disclosure relates to a method for playing music prior to establishing a phone call. It specifically relates to music discovery and playing the music for around 8 seconds, when a person makes a call from his mobile phone. Since music is played from the user's phone, there is no telecom network integration required. Additionally, the disclosure provides discovering songs based on user's context and collecting the songs thereof.
SYSTEM TO COMMUNICATE MEDIA
A system for communicating media is disclosed. Such a system may include, for example, a media broken into a plurality of independent segment files that may represent sequential portions of the media. One of the segment files can be encoded to have a format that is different than the encoded format of another one of the segment files. The formats may be chosen to allow outputting of information in the segments at different rates. A list may include network addresses for the segment files, and a content delivery system may be deployed to distribute media content to remotely located requesting devices by sending the segment files in response to requests for the segment files.
