Natural language user interface

A mobile device is configured to wirelessly authenticate with a reader device. The mobile device may receive an acoustic signal from a user, and a command may be determined based on the acoustic signal. The mobile device may transmit the command to the reader device if the mobile device and the reader device are authenticated. The reader device may receive the command, and may analyze the command to determine an action to be performed. The reader device may then perform the action if the mobile device is authorized to request the command to be performed.

Voice-activated call pick-up for mobile device
11570293 · 2023-01-31 · ·

Disclosed embodiments are directed an application program configured to run on a user's mobile device can allow voice-activated call pick-up to the user, without the user having to use his or her hands for picking up the call. For example, the application program can initially be trained to a user's voice command. When an incoming call is received at the mobile device, the user can pick up the call by issuing a voice command. In some embodiments, the application program can determine whether to allow voice-activated pick-up of calls based on data collected from multiple sensors associated with the vehicle, the mobile device, or a remote source.

Signal processing method and signal processing apparatus

A signal processing method includes obtaining, by a signal processing apparatus, a network delay time with respect to a device connected to the signal processing apparatus via a network, obtaining an input signal, determining an allowable upper limit of a delay time for an output signal corresponding to the obtained input signal based on the obtained network delay time and a total allowable delay time, selecting a signal processing having a longest delay time that is less than or equal to the allowable upper limit of the delay time, performing the selected signal processing on the obtained input signal, and transmitting the obtained input signal on which the selected signal processing has been performed, as the output signal, to the device connected to the signal processing apparatus via the network.

HOTWORD RECOGNITION AND PASSIVE ASSISTANCE
20230229390 · 2023-07-20 · ·

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing hotword recognition and passive assistance are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving, by a computing device that is operating in a low-power mode and that includes a display that displays a graphical interface while the computing device is in the low-power mode and that is configured to exit the low-power mode in response to detecting a first hotword, audio data corresponding to an utterance. The method further includes determining that the audio data includes a second, different hotword. The method further includes obtaining a transcription of the utterance by performing speech recognition on the audio data. The method further includes generating an additional user interface. The method further includes providing, for output on the display, the additional graphical interface.

Vehicle immersive communication system

A vehicle communication system facilitates hands-free interaction with a mobile device in a vehicle or elsewhere. Users interact with the system by speaking to it. The system processes text and processes commands. The system supports Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free use. The system handles telephone calls, email, and SMS text messages. The user can customize the device via a user profile stored on an Internet web server.

Unified message search

The disclosed embodiments include computerized methods, systems, and devices, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating terms of a search query based on a user's spoken utterances, identifying multiple cross-platform messages based on the generated terms, and to generating, via a presentation device, a single interface that enables the user to interact with identified messages. Based on a spoken utterance, the disclosed embodiments may determine user-specified search terms and/or criteria, and based on the user-specified search terms and/or criteria, may obtain cross-platform message data that corresponds to the search query. The communications device may generate one or more interface elements that describe corresponding ones of the cross-platform messages, which may be presented within a unified graphical user interface or voice-user interface by a communications device.

Selecting user device during communications session

This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for establishing network-based data communications (e.g., voice calls, video calls, etc.) between a user device of a user and a remote device of another user, and transitioning the data communications to a different user device of the user based on various types of information. In some examples, the user devices may be located in one or more environments of the user, and the data communications may be transitioned between the user devices based, at least in part, on a location of the user in the environment(s) relative to the multiple devices. For instance, if a user device is performing data communications with the remote device, but it is determined that the user has moved into a closer proximity to another user device, the performance of the data communications may be transitioned to the other user device to which the user is in closer proximity.

Smart notification system for voice calls

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing smart notifications during voice call transitions from hold status to active status are described. An example method can include establishing a call between an endpoint and a remote device; after a determination that the call was placed on hold by the remote device, monitoring, by the endpoint, the call for an indication of a call resume transition, the indication of the call resume transition including at least one of a particular keyword transmitted by the remote device, an active speaker at the remote device, and a dual-tone multi-frequency signaling (DTMF) input from the remote device; detecting, by the endpoint, the indication of the call resume transition; and in response to detecting the indication of the call resume transition, generating, by the endpoint, a notification indicating that the hold has ended and the call has resumed.

Systems and methods for providing headset voice control to employees in quick-service restaurants

Systems and methods for providing headset/ear bud voice control to crew members in a quick-service restaurant are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: transmit transmission signals from a headset to the base station, receive reception signals by the headset from the base station; capture audio information from a first crew member, generate sound based on the received reception signals, generate the transmission signals to form a headset-specific uplink packet based on the captured audio information; generate semantic information based on the headset-specific uplink packet, wherein the semantic information includes one or more individual words; determine one or more commands that modify operation of the communication system, based on the semantic information, and facilitate execution of the one or more commands to control and/or modify the operation of the communication system.

Computational assistant extension device

An example method includes receiving, by a computational assistant executing at one or more processors of a mobile computing device and via a wireless link between the mobile computing device and an external device, a representation of audio data generated by a microphone of the external device, the audio data representing a spoken utterance detected by the external device; determining, by the computational assistant and based on the audio data, a response to the spoken utterance; and sending, by the mobile computing device, to the external device, and via the wireless link between the mobile computing device and the external device, a command to output, for playback by one or more speakers connected to the external device via a hardwired analog removable connector of the external device or a wireless link between the external device and the one or more speakers, audio data representing the response to the spoken utterance.
