An image forming apparatus operable to accept a login of a user by an input of medium information stored in a storage medium or an input via a user interface is provided. The apparatus comprises a storage to store account information that includes user identification information of a registered user and can further include the medium information associated with the user; a reader to read the medium information from the storage medium; a user interface to display a screen and accept an input; and a controller configured to accept a login by a user, wherein the controller, in a case where, at the time of a login of a user via the user interface, the medium information associated with a corresponding user is not registered, registers, in association with the corresponding user, the medium information inputted by the reader.

An image reading apparatus includes a transparent member, a conveyance unit, a reading unit reading an image information through the transparent member from the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit, and a guide member provided upstream of a reading position where the reading unit reads the image information from the sheet with respect to a sheet conveyance direction. A medium transport unit includes an upstream route in which a print sheet is transported, a first switchback route, a second switchback route, a first guide route, a second guide route, a guide flap configured to switch the route so that the print sheet in the upstream route is transported either toward the first guide route or toward the second guide route, a first discharge route from which the print sheet in the first switchback route is discharged, a second discharge route from which the print sheet in the second switchback route is discharged, and a downstream route passing between the first switchback route and the second switchback route and having an upstream end connected to a junction of downstream ends of the first discharge route and the second discharge route.

A transport apparatus includes: an apparatus body; an opening and closing unit attached to the apparatus body so as to be openable and closable between a closed position where an upper surface of the apparatus body is covered and an open position where the upper surface of the apparatus body is exposed, the opening and closing unit including, inside the opening and closing unit, a transport path along which a target material is transported; a transport path member that has a transport path surface constituting a part of the transport path, is rotatably supported by the opening and closing unit at one end portion side of the transport path member, and is configured such that the transport path is opened when the other end portion side of the transport path member moves downward from the opening and closing unit; and a hook portion that is rotatably attached to the other end portion side of the transport path member, is configured to hold the transport path member in a closed state of the transport path, in a hooked state in which the hook portion is hooked on a hooked portion of the opening and closing unit, based on a force applied toward a first rotation direction along which the hook portion is hooked to the hooked portion, and is configured to rotate in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction by coming into contact with the hooked portion while the transport path member is pushed upward by the upper surface of the apparatus body when the opening and closing unit is moved from the open position to the closed position in a non-hooked state in which the hook portion is not hooked on the hooked portion.

An image reading apparatus includes an image reading sensor, a transparent plate, a guiding member, a first roller pair, and a second roller pair provided upstream of the first roller pair with respect to a sheet feeding direction. The first roller pair and the second roller pair are disposed so as to nip a sheet in each of nips of the first roller pair and the second roller pair when a leading end of the sheet enters between the guiding member and the transparent plate.

An image reading apparatus including: a conveyor that conveys a sheet on which an image is formed by an image forming apparatus; a reader that reads the sheet conveyed by the conveyor, by using a contact image sensor; and a first hardware processor that extracts an edge of the sheet by analyzing a read image by the reader, calculates a blur amount of the edge based on the extracted edge, and calculates a curl amount of the sheet based on the calculated blur amount.
