Technique for conveying reading unit while pressed against sheet
An image forming unit forms an image on a sheet. The sheet is conveyed through a conveyance path after the image has been formed on the sheet. A reading unit reads the image formed on the sheet in the conveyance path. A conveyance guide constitutes a portion of the conveyance path and guides the sheet. A pressing unit presses the reading unit against the sheet. A connection unit connects the reading unit and the conveyance guide such that the reading unit and the conveyance guide move in an interlocked manner.

An image reading apparatus includes a support section in contact with a mounting surface on which the apparatus is mounted, an apparatus body including a reader, the apparatus body, and a position holding section. The position of the apparatus body can be switched between a first position in which the apparatus body is not in use and a second position in which the apparatus body reads a document using the reader, and in which a projected area of the apparatus body on the mounting surface is larger than that in the first position, and the center of gravity of the apparatus body is lower than or equal to a rotation axis center of the apparatus body in a vertical direction viewed in a rotation axis direction of the apparatus body when the apparatus body is in the first position or in the second position.

An image processing apparatus includes a motor, a sheet feeding roller, a separation roller, a conveyance roller, a first clutch set provided in a transmission path of a driving force transmitted from the motor to the sheet feeding roller, and a second clutch set provided in a transmission path of a driving force transmitted from the motor to the separation roller. The first clutch set includes a first one-way clutch and a first two-way clutch, and the second clutch set includes a second one-way clutch and a second two-way clutch. A maximum value of a first play angle set between a first transmission portion and a first transmitted portion in the first two-way clutch is larger than a maximum value of a second play angle set between a second transmission portion and a second transmitted portion in the second two-way clutch.

An image reading apparatus for reading an image of an original includes an illumination portion for illuminating the original with light, a reflection member including a reflecting surface for reflecting the light from the original; a converting portion for photoelectrically converting the light reflected by the reflection member, and a casing for accommodating the reflection member. The casing is provided with an opening which is open to an outside of the casing. A surface of the reflecting member opposite from the reflecting surface and a portion defining the opening are bonded to each other with an adhesive.

Image processing edge device for document noise removal
A device for removing a noise artifact from a document receives a scan of the document, where the document contains a noise artifact at least partially obstructing a portion of the document. The device generates an image of the document, and extracts a first set of features from the image. The device identifies noise artifact features from the first set of features, and generates a second set of features by removing the noise artifact features. The device generates a test clean image of the document based on the second set of features. The device determines whether a portion of the test clean image that previously displayed the noise artifact corresponds to a counterpart portion of the training clean image. If it is determined that the portion of the test clean image corresponds to the counterpart portion of the training clean image, the device outputs the test clean image.

An image reading apparatus includes an opening/closing unit, an output gear, an apparatus main body having an image reading unit, a retard roller, and an input gear, and includes an opening/closing unit having a pickup roller, a feed roller, a feed roller shaft, a drive shaft, and an adjustment support portion. The feed roller shaft supports the feed roller. The drive shaft is connected at one end side thereof to the feed roller shaft via a coupling. The feed roller shaft is removable from the drive shaft. The input gear meshes with the output gear to transmit a driving force to the feed roller where the opening/closing unit is closed, and is separated from the output gear where the opening/closing unit is opened. The adjustment support portion supports the other end side of the drive shaft to adjust a position for supporting the drive shaft.

An ink ejection timing adjustment method on an inkjet recording apparatus includes an information acquiring step of acquiring at least recording medium information with a reading sensor, a printing step of printing a test pattern on a recording medium on a conveying belt, a calculating step of calculating a delay time by adding to a default set time a correction time corresponding to a correction value for ink ejection timing entered based on the printed position of the test pattern, and a setting step of setting the delay time as a predetermined time at the lapse of which after, as a result of the conveying belt turning, an opening passes a reading position a recording head starts to eject ink to the opening.

The second communication apparatus reads the QR code-printed sheet to acquire the second network information, requests the first communication apparatus to establish direct wireless communication based on the second network information, acquires the first network information from the first communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication, and connects to a router based on the first network information to start wireless LAN communication.
