A procedure and installation of the same for the control of image processing devices using only the data required; thus, avoiding saturation of the memories of the components involved and/or the communications bandwidth. The procedure and installation are simple and reliable such as not to require the involvement of an expert user or a service staff member. The procedure includes the standardization of the data identifiers for each image processing device via the identification of the identifier containing a value for each data point and checking that the scale of each data point is equivalent to a predetermined scale. The installation includes a standardization system for such purpose.

Provided is an electronic device that greatly simplifies a setting operation when using an operation history. The electronic device of this disclosure includes a panel part, a system control part, a setting operation management part, and a function part. The system control part conducts a download of one of an individual operation history and an entire operation history for each selection item, as setting history of selection information, from a management server according to a procedure of a setting assistance application program which has been downloaded from the management server and which is assigned to each user. The setting operation management part manages the setting information included in the downloaded setting history for each the selection item. The function part executes a processing based on the setting information managed by the setting operation management part.

An image processing apparatus includes at least one of an image forming device configured to form an image on a sheet or an image reader configured to read an image on the sheet, and a storage configured to store information. The apparatus also includes a display configured to display a screen, and a controller. The controller is configured to install an application program relating to the image forming device or the image reader, determine whether to display an execution instruction image for inputting an execution instruction of the installed application program on an individual home screen which is a home screen for individual use by each user, and display the individual home screen containing the execution instruction image determined to be displayed on the display.

There is provided a method for controlling an image processing apparatus, including storing histories of a predetermined number of jobs in a storage unit, displaying the histories of the jobs stored in the storing, performing control to, in a case where the histories of the predetermined number of jobs are stored in the storage unit, delete, from the storage unit, one of the histories of the jobs stored in the storage unit in accordance with execution of a job and store a history of the executed job in the storage unit, and making settings in such a manner that a history of a job selected by a user is not deleted from the storage unit under the control.

A color adjuster includes: a color specifier that specifies a color when an image former forms an image; a pre-modified candidate acquirer that obtains a calculated value to which a profile for forming an image is applied or a colorimetric value of an image forming result with respect to the color specified by the color specifier; a modification history database that stores the calculated value or the colorimetric value obtained by the pre-modified candidate acquirer, the calculated value and the colorimetric value being associated with a past modified value; a modified value determinator that determines a modified value of the calculated value or the colorimetric value obtained by the pre-modified candidate acquirer on the basis of the past modified value stored in the modification history database; and a modified value outputter that displays or outputs the modified value determined by the modified value determinator.

An image processing apparatus includes the following. A communicator performs data communication with a terminal apparatus. A hardware processor provides through the communicator to the terminal apparatus screen information to form a display screen displayed on a display of the image processing apparatus, and displays the display screen with a browser of the terminal apparatus. The screen information includes the following. Functional information shows a function included in the image processing apparatus. An information analysis program allows a computer of the terminal apparatus to function as a functional information extractor which extracts functional information of the image processing apparatus from the screen information, a functional difference specifier which specifies the functional difference between the image processing apparatus and another image processing apparatus based on the functional information, and a display controller which controls the display to display the functional difference on the display screen.

An image forming apparatus includes: a hardware processor that: generates image data for composition; and divides the image data for composition into bands; an output memory; a storage that determines whether image data of each band coincides with image data of another band, secures a unique region, transfers the image data of the band to the unique region and associates the band with the unique region, secures common regions, transfers the image data of one of the bands to the common region and associates any one of the common regions to each of the bands; a reader that reads the image data from the region associated with each band and outputs the image data for composition; a composer that composes the image data for composition with the image data to be printed; and an image former that forms an image based on the composed image data.

An energy saving setting unit controls an image forming apparatus that makes a transition to a power saving state if a transition time passes without any prescribed operation in a normal state, and it includes: a unit for storing specific day information distinguishing a normal operation day and a specific day; an auto pattern updating unit determining the transition time in a normal operation day based on past operational status of the normal operation day of the image forming apparatus; a specific day pattern registering unit receiving and storing setting of the transition time of the specific day; and a switching unit, switching the state of conduction of the image forming apparatus using the transition time determined by the auto pattern updating unit and the stored transition time, on the normal operation day and on the specific day, respectively, based on the specific day information.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor for acquiring an image of a reference member, calculating a dirt degree at an imaging position by comparing a gradient value of a pixel with a gradient value of peripheral pixels of the pixel or comparing the gradient value of the pixel with a reference value, with regard to a pixel included in the acquired image of the reference member, and generating when the dirt degree is equal to or more than a first threshold. When the dirt degree is less than the first threshold and equal to or more than a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold, the processor generates the warning only when a scan count exceeds a scan count threshold, and when the dirt degree is less than the second threshold, the processor does not generate the warning.

An information processing system includes one or more processors configured to: acquire attribute information indicating an attribute of a document containing one or more pages and split information indicating a result of splitting in units of documents after multiple documents are read consecutively; and estimate an error for each split document on a basis of a difference between a total number of pages in each document obtained from the attribute information and a number of read pages in each split document obtained from the split information.
