IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE READING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image reading device according to an aspect of this invention is equipped with an image sensor having multiple sensor IC chips. The image reading device includes a detection unit which detects respective offset levels of a reference channel and of a correction target channel from among multiple channels provided for groups of the multiple IC chips, an acquisition unit which acquires a difference between the offset levels of the reference channel and of the correction target channel, and a correction unit which corrects shading data of a correction target sensor IC chip on the correction target channel based on the acquired difference.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND DOCUMENT SIZE DETECTING METHOD
An image reading apparatus including a controller configured to perform an update processing for updating shading correction data stored in a memory by a generation processing of generating shading correction data based on an image signal of a reference member and perform a size determination processing for determining a size of a document based on an image signal of the document, wherein, when the document on the document platen is read, the controller performs the generation processing before the document is read, and an image processing portion performs the shading correction using the shading correction data generated before the document is read, and wherein, when the size determination processing is performed, the image processing portion performs the shading correction using the shading correction data stored in the memory, and the update processing is not performed.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND ORIGINAL SIZE DETECTION METHOD
An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit, which includes an illumination portion for irradiating an original placed on an original table with light and a light receiving portion for receiving irradiated light reflected from the original. The image reading apparatus reads the original one line at a time in a main scanning direction according to the received reflected light. The image reading apparatus determines the size of the original based on the reading result of the reading unit. The image reading apparatus shortens, in a case where the platen cover is in an open state, the lighting duration of the illumination portion than the duration where the platen cover is in a close state.
IMAGE SENSOR WITH RANGE AND LIGHT-LEVEL DETECTION
Systems and methods for selectively illuminating objects located within the field-of-view of an image sensor used to capture images in a machine-readable symbol reader. In an active illuminated reading mode, a light source illuminates objects as the image sensor captures images. In a self-illuminated object reading mode, used to capture images of smartphone, tablet, or other self-illuminating displays, the image sensor captures images without the light source illuminating the objects. The machine-readable symbol reader transitions between the two modes based upon distance and light-level measurements taken of the various objects that are within the field-of-view of the image sensor.
Image reader, and method and computer-readable medium for the same
An image reader including a document table having a reference point, a first region of a sheet having a predetermined size when a vertex of the sheet is positioned on the reference point, and a second region, a changing mechanism changing a reading position in a sub scanning direction, and a controller configured to control the changing mechanism to change the reading position to a first position such that a distance in the sub scanning direction between the reference point and the first position corresponds to a length of the predetermined sheet size in the sub scanning direction, acquire specific digital data of the second region through image reading in the first position with a light source turned off, compare a particular value of the specific digital data with a criterion value within the second region, and determine a state of a document cover based on the comparison.
System and method for output display generation based on ambient conditions
A system and method provides for modifying an output display on a display device based on at least one ambient condition. The method and system includes receiving a plurality of images representing visual artworks from a networked data storage location and storing the plurality of images in a local memory device. In a stationary picture frame, the method and system detects at least one ambient condition using an environmental sensor affixed to the stationary picture frame. The method and system analyzes the ambient condition to determine ambient condition factors and selects at least one of the plurality of images from the local memory device. Therein, the method and system displays the at least one of the plurality of images on the output display within the stationary picture frame, modifying the display of the images based on the ambient condition factors.

Image reading device, image processing apparatus, and image reading method
An image reading device includes a shooting unit, a light source unit, a shooting controller, and a combining unit. The light source unit sequentially irradiates the bound document with light from first and second irradiation positions opposing each other with respect to a first straight line orthogonal to a direction of a binding portion of the document. The shooting controller controls the shooting unit to shoot a first region positioned at the second irradiation position side on the document when the light source unit irradiates the document with light from the first irradiation position, and controls the shooting unit to shoot a second region containing a region other than the first region on the document when the light source unit irradiates the document with light from the second irradiation position. The combining unit combines a shot image of the first region and a shot image of the second region.
IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE READING METHOD
An image reading device (1) includes a light emission control portion (84), an image scanning portion (11), and a difference data sequence generating portion (852, 853, 855). The difference data sequence generating portion (852, 853, 855) sequentially obtains image data sequences of a linear area both when a light emitting portion is in a light-on state and when the light emitting portion is in a light-off state. In addition, the difference data sequence generating portion (852, 853, 855) sequentially generates difference data sequences (Ys) that are results of subtracting an image data sequence (X2) obtained in a light-off state of the light emitting portion from an image data sequence (X1) obtained in a light-on state of the light emitting portion, among a pair of image data sequences (X1, X2) obtained at each blinking cycle of the light emitting portion.
