PRINTER, COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM, AND METHOD TO PROPERLY PERFORM USER CLEANING
A printer includes a container configured to store recording agent, a print head configured to eject the recording agent, and a controller configured to permit the printer to perform printing until a print permission amount, different from a remaining amount of the recording agent in the container, reaches a first threshold. The print permission amount is information regarding a quantity, of the recording agent or sheets usable by the printer. The controller is further configured to receive an instruction to perform user cleaning to clean the print head by ejecting the recording agent from the print head, and in response to the receipt of the instruction to perform the user cleaning, cause the printer to perform the user cleaning when the print permission amount has not reached a second threshold, whereas restricting execution of the user cleaning when the print permission amount has reached the second threshold.
STRUCTURE FOR CLEANING SENSOR
A sensor cleaning device to clean a sensor to detect a printable medium on a transferring path. The sensor cleaning device includes a cleaning lever, and a driver. The cleaning lever is coupled to a cleaner at an end of the cleaning lever. The driver is coupled to the cleaning lever and is to drive the cleaning lever to move the cleaner from a first position to a second position and back to the first position, the first position being away from the transferring path and the second position being in contact with the sensor.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE IMAGE READING DEVICE
An image reading device includes a reader, a transparent member, an opposing member, first and second conveyance rotators, and circuitry. The reader reads a sheet. The transparent member is disposed between the reader and the sheet. The opposing member is disposed facing the reader via the transparent member. The first conveyance rotator is disposed upstream from the reader in a conveyance direction of the sheet. The second conveyance rotator is disposed downstream from the reader in the conveyance direction. The circuitry cause the first conveyance rotator and the second conveyance rotator to convey a cleaning sheet at respective conveying speeds different from each other and bring the cleaning sheet into contact with at least one of the transparent member or the opposing member.
Decontamination of multi-function device clusters in response to detected use
A method is disclosed. For example, the method executed by a processor of a multi-function device (MFD) includes detecting use of the MFD, wherein the MFD is associated with a plurality of MFDs that are designated as a cluster within a location, deactivating the MFD in response to use of the MFD being detected, transmitting a first notification to deactivate the plurality of MFDs within the cluster in response to use of the MFD being detected, initiating a decontamination process within the location in response to the use of the MFD being detected, receiving an indication that the decontamination process is completed, transmitting a second notification to reactivate the plurality of MFDs within the cluster, and reactivating the MFD.
SCROLLING PROTECTIVE FILM SYSTEM FOR TOUCHSCREEN
Devices include first and second frame elements having mounting points connectable to opposite ends (e.g., first end, second end) of the touchscreen. First and second rollers are connected, respectively, to the first and second frame elements. A web of transparent material is supported by and between the first and second rollers. Further, an ultraviolet light device is connected to the second frame element and is positioned to expose the web of transparent material to ultraviolet radiation to disinfect the transparent material between users.
SELF-SANITIZING TOUCHSCREEN COVER
An apparatus includes, among other components, a frame adapted to be connected to the exterior surface of a device that has a touchscreen. A retractable cover is operatively connected to the frame. The size of the retractable cover is equal to at least the size of the touchscreen, and the retractable cover is positioned to extend so as to cover the touchscreen. At least one ultraviolet light is also operatively connected to the frame. The ultraviolet light is positioned to direct ultraviolet lighting toward the touchscreen when the retractable cover extends to cover the touchscreen.
Cleaning apparatus and cleaning method for an image sensor
A cleaning apparatus that includes a cleaning member and cleans a detection surface of a detection element included in a detection device includes a fixing unit configured to fix the detection device attached to the cleaning apparatus, an adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a position of the detection device with respect to the cleaning apparatus and a measurement unit configured to measure a position and an inclination of the detection element of the detection device.
Communication apparatus
A communication apparatus configured not to execute displaying, based on the operation in the connection setting state being started, a screen for receiving an operation for stopping the operation in the connection setting state on a display unit of the communication apparatus.
Image forming apparatus capable of reading sheet being conveyed
An image forming apparatus includes a line sensor capable of reading a sheet being conveyed. A signal processing circuit generates, based on respective analog picture signals of pixels and in order of sequence of the pixels, detection signals each indicating whether or not a reflecting object has been read. A first counting circuit measures a duration time which is a time during which the detection signals maintain a level indicating that the reflecting object has been read. When the duration time reaches or exceeds a first specified time, the first counting circuit changes a level of a first detection result signal to a level indicating necessity of cleaning. A unit control circuit determines, based on the level of the first detection result signal, whether or not cleaning is necessary.
MEDIA SCANNER
A media scanner including an input tray, an output tray disposed above the input tray, a media feeder to advance media along a media path from the input tray to the output tray, an upper scanning device to generate a first scan line, and a lower scanning assembly. The upper scanning device is disposed to face downward to scan a first side of the media. The lower scanning assembly is disposed to face upward to scan a second side of the media. The media path extends from the input tray to below the upper scanning device, to above the lower scanning assembly, and to the output tray. The upper scanning device is disposed at an angle with respect to the media path to cause a front edge of the media advancing along the media path to contact the upper scanning device at or before the first scan line.
