SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHARING IMAGES USING AN IMAGE UPLOAD MENU
A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method includes: receiving, via a mobile device that is in a pre-authorization state, user input for initiating a procedure for account authorization at an online image repository; in response to receiving the user input, configuring the mobile device to initiate access to an account at the online image repository based on creating an authorization token associated with the online image repository; and storing, at the mobile device, the authorization token.
Devices and Methods for Capturing and Interacting with Enhanced Digital Images
An electronic device having a camera, while displaying a live preview for the camera, detects activation of a shutter button at a first time. In response, the electronic device acquires, by the camera, a representative image that represents a first sequence of images, and a plurality of images after acquiring the representative image, and also displays an indication in the live preview that the camera is capturing images for the first sequence of images. The electronic device groups images acquired by the camera in temporal proximity to the activation of the shutter button at the first time into the first sequence of images, such that the first sequence of images includes a plurality of images acquired by the camera prior to detecting activation of the shutter button at the first time, the representative image, and the plurality of images acquired by the camera after acquiring the representative image.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING STRUCTURED DATA BASED ON SCANNED DOCUMENTS
A system and method for efficiently and securely converting physical documents, including handwritten reports, into structured data stored in databases is disclosed. The method includes extraction by a processor of electronic images or text from scanned physical documents and transmission of the extracted data by the processor to other devices for evaluation by data entry technicians. A candidate set of potential responses to a field may be provided to a data entry technician to enable the data entry technician to evaluate the extracted data. The candidate set may be generated based on responses extracted physical documents having the same author. Entries from different data fields of documents may be provided to different data entry technicians to reduce the amount of information provided to a data entry technician, thereby reducing security risks for documents containing confidential material.
Image processing apparatus for generating a digitized document by using image data and method for controlling the same
An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes a specification unit configured to acquire first image data and second image data, and specify a character string out of character strings included in the first image data, and a storage unit configured to store the first and the second image data in one folder in a case where a character string in the second image data at a position corresponding to a position of the specified character string in the first image data coincides with the character string specified by the specification unit, and configured to store the first and the second image data in different folders in a case where the character string in the second image data at the position corresponding to the position of the character string in the first image data specified by the specification unit does not coincide with the specified character string.
Image processing apparatus, data registration method, and data registration program
An information processing apparatus includes: an imaging unit configured to capture an image of a subject; an image extraction unit configured to extract an image of a predetermined shape from a captured image being the image of the subject captured and output by the imaging unit; and a registration unit configured to, upon the image extraction unit extracting a first image identifying input data and a second image identifying a storage area, store the input data identified by the first image in the storage area identified by the second image.
Cell-based compression with edge detection
An example embodiment may involve obtaining an a×b pixel macro-cell from an input image. Pixels in the a×b pixel macro-cell may have respective pixel values and may be associated with respective tags. It may be determined whether at least e of the respective tags indicate that their associated pixels represent edges in the input image. Based on this determination, either a first encoding or a second encoding of the a×b pixel macro-cell may be selected. The first encoding may weigh pixels that represent edges in the input image heavier than pixels that do not represent edges in the input image, and the second encoding might not consider whether pixels represent edges. The selected encoding may be performed and written to a computer-readable output medium.

Method and apparatus for instant scanning and processing of a document
A system and method for automatically scanning a physical document and performing processing actions on the scanned document are provided. The system may include a scanning device that can detect a trigger event when a portable memory device is connected to or paired with the device or when a document, including one or multiple pages, is placed on the document handler of the device. Upon detecting the trigger event, the scanning device may retrieve scan instructions from a designated folder on the portable memory device, automatically scan the document on the document handler, and perform various processing actions on the digital document file for the scanned document based on the scan instructions, with little or no user interaction. The processing actions may include storing, faxing, emailing the scanned document. The instructions for each processing action may be stored at one of multiple designated folders of the portable memory device.
