A mobile device responds in real time to media content presented on a media device, such as a television. The mobile device captures temporal fragments of audio-video content on its microphone, camera, or both and generates corresponding audio-video query fingerprints. The query fingerprints are transmitted to a search server located remotely or used with a search function on the mobile device for content search and identification. Audio features are extracted and audio signal global onset detection is used for input audio frame alignment. Additional audio feature signatures are generated from local audio frame onsets, audio frame frequency domain entropy, and maximum change in the spectral coefficients. Video frames are analyzed to find a television screen in the frames, and a detected active television quadrilateral is used to generate video fingerprints to be combined with audio fingerprints for more reliable content identification.

A sheet processing apparatus for processing sheets each with a wireless tag, includes a roller, a wireless tag reader/writer, and a controller configured to control the roller to convey a first sheet with a first tag along a path, control the reader/writer to acquire first strengths of radio signals received from the first tag during the conveyance and second strengths of radio signals received from wireless tags of sheets not being conveyed, determine a threshold value of signal strength for distinguishing a wireless tag being conveyed from wireless tags not being conveyed based on the first and second strengths, and control the roller to convey a second sheet with a second tag and control the reader/writer to write to the second tag when a strength of a radio signal from the second tag is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

Systems and methods electronically uniquely imprint a digital watermark on produced resources, such as on data or electronic documents produced by an online software platform (OSP), in nearly invisible ways that are likely to survive subsequent processing. In one embodiment the OSP stores a plurality of resource digital rules used for producing resources for respective relationship instances of primary entities with other entities; receives a dataset on behalf of a primary entity, in which the dataset includes data representing a relationship instance between the primary entity and a secondary entity; in response to the received dataset, produces a resource based on applying one or more of the plurality of resource digital rules to the dataset; and digitally watermarks the produced resource with a digital watermark such that the produced resource is identifiable via the digital watermark as having been produced by the OSP.

A printing system includes: a printing device; and a data processing server. A first controller of the printing device is configured to perform: a reading process to read a reading target to generate image data; a determination process to determine whether to transmit the image data to the data processing server according to at least one of available capacity information and capacity-related information; and a data transmission process to transmit the image data to the data processing server. A second controller of the data processing server is configured to perform: a payment-related process related to a fee payment for printing based on the image data. The first controller is configured to further perform, after the fee payment is completed: an acquisition process to acquire print data corresponding to the image data; and a printing process to form an image corresponding to the print data on a printing medium.

A first controller of the printing device is configured to perform: a reading process to read a reading target to generate image data; and a data transmission process to transmit the image data to the data processing server. A second controller of the data processing server is configured to perform: a data receiving process to receive the image data; a fee calculation process to calculate a fee to be charged for forming an image based on the image data; and a payment-related process related to a payment of the fee. The first controller is configured to further perform: an acquisition process to acquire print data corresponding to the image data after the payment of the fee is completed; and a printing process to form the image corresponding to the print data on a printing medium.

Convenience and security of an information processing apparatus including a USB host interface in a case where network connection is established via a USB-LAN adapter are improved. The information processing apparatus includes a plurality of external USB ports to which USB compatible network adapters are connected. A method is provided to exert unbinding control on an image forming device. The method includes: obtaining an unbinding instruction; sending a first unbinding request to the server according to the unbinding instruction, where the unbinding request includes identification information of the image forming device; obtaining a reply message from the server in response to the unbinding request; and in response to a determination that the reply message indicates unbinding failure, automatically sending a second unbinding request to the server.

A communication system includes an information processing apparatus and a facsimile apparatus connected to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus transmits, to the facsimile apparatus, first job information that includes a single piece of first image information and includes two or more pieces of address information that respectively indicate addresses of transmission destinations of the first image information. When the first job information is received from the information processing apparatus, based on the two or more pieces of address information that are included in the received first job information, the facsimile apparatus broadcasts the first image information by facsimile communication to the addresses indicated respectively by the two or more pieces of address information.

The image forming apparatus according to the present disclosures is configured to transmit, to a file server, an acquisition request for an updating data file at a time different from an access time, which is indicated by access time information of a setting file, by a particular time and update a content of the setting file by the acquired updating data file.

Systems and methods for dynamically and automatically generating digital watermarks are provided. Watermark payloads utilized in generating the digital watermarks are altered based upon changing conditions, such as environmental characteristics associated with playback or distribution of media content. Changing conditions may also encompass a change in the distribution/presentation chain of devices associated with the playback or distribution of the media content.
